DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

Super Excited we are going on our first Disney Cruise!!! Only 11 more months till we set sail. We are a family of 5, we have 3 kids: Lilly 7, Melissa 4 (today) and David who is 5 months.

onboard both the Cruise & Disboards. This will be our 3rd cruise and we are Super Excited, too.

Welcome Amy and family... talk about coincidence... I am on the same cruise you had to reschedule. I hope someone takes over the FE.

Virginia (mommyarewegoingback) volunteered to do the FE. I am sure she wouldn't mind some help. The thread is kinda slow right now but I am sure it will pick up.

2. Are you married? How long? Yes, 38 years

3. Do you have any children? Ages? Will they be cruising with you? A daughter 37 and a son 23. They won't be on the cruise. They cat & dog sit for us.

4. Do you have any pets? 1 dog, 4 cats

5. What do you do for a living? Work? Stay at home? Bev/hairstylist, just went part-time after 25 years of full-time. Jim/Telecommunications

6. Did you always want to be a XXX? (your profession) Always enjoyed playing with hair. Still enjoy it after 36 years in the business. Jim has been a jack of all trades in electronics, starting out in quality control & going on to computers and now computerized telecom.

7. What is your favorite movie? Somewhere in Time (Jane Seymour & Christopher Reeve) and Titanic. Jim likes Dr. Who & British comedy.

8. What is your favorite book? Star Trek & the Dan Brown series

9. What is/are your favorite TV show(s)? Law & Order, CSI & Criminal Minds, Medium, & Medical shows.

13. Where did you go to school/college? I graduated from Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pa and went to Allentown School of Cosmetology. Jim went to Mahanoy Area High School, Electronics Training Center and Lehigh County Community College.

14. Do you like sports? What's your favorite football team? I enjoy Ice Hockey when our son is playing. Jim likes the Miami Dolphins (he saw one of their first games when he was stationed in Homestead, Florida in the Air Force.

15. How many siblings do you have? I have 3 older brothers, Jim is the oldest and has a younger sister & brother still living. His baby brother passed away last year.

16. What do you like to do in your spare time? Go on Dis & Facebook. Garden. Sew, knit & crochet. Jim likes to work around the house & on the cars.

17. Any interesting places that you've traveled to lately? Jim had to go to London for work and I tagged along. On the days he had to work, I went off by myself on a walking tour of London. On the day he had off we went on the London Eye and rode the double-decker busses around London.

18. What is your attitude when it comes to money? Are you a spender or a saver? I save so I can spend. LOL

19. When is your birthday? Me - November 28. Jim - April 18

20. What are your preferences when it comes to clothes and fashion? Comfortable, casual, although both of us enjoy dressing formal when the occasion arises. I made a formal gown for our last cruise & Jim wore a Tux with a cumberbund I made to match my gown.

23. Are you an introvert or an extrovert? We are both introverted, but me less than him.

21. Are you an outdoors person? Yes, we both enjoy camping. We went on the Jungle Hike in Cozmel last year to see the Mayan Ruins. It was fun, but the mosquitoes were horrendous. I was bitten so much it looked like I had chicken pox.

22. Are you an adventurous person by nature or do you prefer playing it safe? We both ride motorcycles. Enough said?

23. What was your childhood like? Very close families

24. How many Disney (or other cruises) have you been on? 2 so far. First one, we took our son for his 21st birthday & graduation from Automotive Training School. Second was just DH & I. This one is just us too.

25. How often have you been to Walt Disney World? 12 times so far. Going for the 13th in September 2010.

3. Do you have any children? Ages? Will they be cruising with you? No kids either although my mom claims my cats are my kids. I am slowly but surely working towards my future as an old cat lady.


4. Do you have any pets? 2 cats, Amber and Hobbes and a part-time dog (my dad's dog, Marcus)

5. What do you do for a living? Work? Stay at home? I'm a full-time Nursing student and I work part-time as an emergency operator for a university.

6. Did you always want to be a XXX? Not really, I am have jumped around so much when it comes to what I want to do but I have finally settled on nursing.

7. What is your favorite movie? Pride and Prejudice (BBC version with Colin Firth)

8. What is your favorite book? No surprise here, Pride and Prejudice!

9. What is/are your favorite TV show(s)? There are so many! Smallville, Gilmore Girls, Lost, Survivor, Grey's Anatomy, Chuck, Bones. The list goes on and on

12. What type of music do you listen to? Do you have a favorite group/singer/band etc.? I listen to pretty much everything except for rap.

13. Where did you go to school/college? I have a BAH in English Lit and Classical Studies from Queen's University and I am now earning my Nursing Degree.

14. Do you like sports? What's your favorite football team? I don't pay much attention except for the Olympics although I do enjoy going to my school's football games when I get the chance.

WOW! I can't believe how many DIS'ers are going to be on this cruise!!!!! Just checking back in, and I have like 12 pages to read through!

our family of 5 will be doing a B2B! 5/26-5/29 and then 5/29-6/3.
We are from Long Island, NY (Babylon) and have main dining. WE love the FE.....count us IN!!!!!!

DW (me) Cathi 41 at time of sailing (OMG!!)...Cheshire Cat

DD Alassia 11...loves Belle
DS Zachary 9...loves Mickey
DD Victoria 6.5...loves anything Toystory, especially Bullseye and Buttercup

On this cruise, 5/29, we are in cat 8D, 6668- trying out a family oceanview stateroom.



On the 5/26 we are in cat 11A, 9055 and 9057...wanted to try the virtual portholes and soooo happy that we don't have to be on the lower decks!

We are also going on the 8/28 med...leaving in about 6 weeks. This will be our 8th cruise. We are very excited about going to Europe!!!!! Got a really great deal on the cruise (I'm a travel agent) and only had to purchase 1 airline ticket because we had enough points to cover 4 tickets---only took like 10 years of saving points!

We are also booked on the 7-night western on 4/16- with my parents, and on the 8/16, 7-night alaska with my parents. DH needs to get another job! I'm sure we probably won't go on all these cruises, but I just can't decide on which one to not go on!

But I think I have a good shot at keeping the Dream B2B's....I have 1st tier pricing (called the first day available and in the morning), plus on-board discount (10%) and OBC, too..... for both! PLUS, we'd only have to fly to Florida once to go on two cruises!!! How can you pass up a deal like that????


I am so excited to be on the 1st 5-night Dream cruise!!!!!!! Any other fellow NY'ers???????
