DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted on this thread in a while because I was so busy getting ready for the 5/30/10 5-Day 'Double Dip' on the Wonder!! We just got back on Friday, and let me tell you guys....this cruise was WONDERFUL. Two stops at CC, combined with a day at sea, was perfect! And...the Wonder sailed at 100% capacity. I think that was the first time I'd been on a ship that was completely sold out.

Our upcoming cruise will be incredible as well, no doubt!!

That is awesome! We did a 2 CC stop one time before, but didn't get to go the first day because of weather. We still loved it and can't wait to do it again on the Dream.
Did you get to use the new water activity area at CC "Pelican Plunge"? (at least I think that is what they call it).

So were there a formal & semi-formal night? Anything else that might be different from a 4 or 7 night cruise? Glad you had a fun time. I'm sure we all will next year.:cheer2:

Every night was "cruise casual" except for one night, which was called "dress-up night", I believe. It was definitely NOT formal in any way. The whole cruise was very casual, in my opinion.

One thing that was very exciting was a few appearances by Don "Ducky" Williams, who spoke in one of the theaters about his early days as an animator in Walt Disney World. He is the man who designed almost all of what you see (character-wise) on the ships and in WDW. As he speaks, he draws several characters, then the pieces are raffled off. Very exciting. I missed winning his Snow White drawing by only two numbers :headache: It all worked out, though, because I paid an extra $40 (which I thought was incredibly reasonable) for a short session with him, in which he drew Snow White for me and signed it :lovestruc. The best $40 I could have spent.

This was our 2nd double dip...the first being a 4-day. Let me tell you...this was SO much more relaxed. That extra day at sea is just what the doctor ordered ;). This cruise was so much more relaxed and less "frenzied". We had so much extra time to really enjoy the ship!

Unfortunately, we did not get to do Pelican Plunge :(. I'm sure we'll do it on our 5/2011 cruise, though!

Bummer on the formal night. I really had fun on our 7 night dressing up. Guess I will just have to hope that the Fantasy has some 7 nighters in 2012. We are planning on rebooking onboard. I guess that will be one less thing I will have to pack though.

Congrats on the Snow White picture. That sounds like a steal to me too.

Hi everyone,

I'm so new to the cruise forum, I just found this thread yesterday! We are so excited to go on our very first cruise on the Dream! Going on a Disney cruise has been a dream of mine for a long time and this cruise is my 40th birthday present from my DH! On the trip will be me, My DH and my DS3. Will be in Cat T. Can't wait to meet my fellow DIS'ers and play the fish extender game!

Hey y'all-
Sorry I've been away. We have been planning and doing a non-Disney orlando trip for this past memorial day week. But the whole time I was dreaming about our next Memorial Day, when I get to Dream!

I love "First to Dream it Twice" slogan!

I have started the list for FE's. zimaaaaah, if you're still interested, i would love some help. I will post the FE's I have so far in the next post and will add a link to my siggie.

Woo hooo! We are less than a year away now.

I think we'll keep it easy. It'll be up to you to decide if you want to do FE's one per family, one per person, just kids or just adults. It's a relatively short cruise, so we won't have a schedule of when to deliver or anything. We'll try to get a final list sometime before the cruise (date tbd, I'm thinking 2 or 3 weeks before sail).

Please PM me with you disboard name, members of your party name and ages, and cabin number. I will add you to this list. I will only show your disboard name and cabin number here. I will save the other info and distribute closer to sail date. Hmm. I think that's it for now. Let me know if you have questions or if you think I've missed something here. Thanks!

Hello everyone! :cool1:
Haven't posted in a long time due to us getting ready for the May 2010 5 night Wonder cruise! It was a FANTASTIC cruise and we cannot wait for May 2011.

2 stops at CC was heaven. :cloud9: DH and I spent all of our time at Serenity Bay and we had gorgeous weather.

I like our name for this cruise-very cute. I'll be posting more now that we are home from the Wonder.

On this cruise it'll be me, DH and my parents.

My best friend and I just booked a 2 room whirlpool suite with the park and cruise package..Includes full breakfast buffet for two in the morning and a free shuttle....:cool1: $187 total and we will split that.....:goodvibes

So excited..I do love the Radisson...I called the Best Western Oceanfront and just a 2 bed oceanfront room with the cruise package started at $189 before taxes and fees...So we are just going with the Radisson.

So one more thing out of the way!!!:cloud9:

We plan too dine at Grills that evening...I love the peel and eat shrimp and they make an awesome Margarita....party:

Can I ask you a question?...how are you getting from MCO to the Radisson? I'm trying to plan a cruise for November (in addition to this one!) but I don't think I want to rent a car. Just curious how I can get a group from MCO to the Radisson as painlessly as possible. Thanks.

Well I knew at about a year out you could start booking...So I checked Radisson website and it gave me a price.... The regular cruise parking package in a standard room was $139 before taxes and the 2 room suite is $169. So we decided since we are splitting it too take the suite.

It did not cost me anything..I just reserved it with my credit card so that is really nice. I just know we like the Radisson and the pool there is great so we went ahead and grabbed it.:cool1:

Best Western can book if you call, but not on line yet. Good luck.

We are renting a car since we are visiting Universal first.
We have used a shuttle service twice in the past for our larger group and it was wonderful. I will try and attach the link too the company we used. They were right on time and wonderful and after the cruise they were there waiting on us when we stepped off the ship. It was very convenient.

They were great...:goodvibes

Hey there everyone.

We have just booked this cruise, and are very excited about cruising the Dream. :woohoo:This will be our third Disney Cruise. I stopped counting other cruises some time ago. It will be just my DH and I in cabin 9120, late seating.

We rented a van this pass November and it did work out great. I also found a great deal on the van. We dropped off the van the next morning and used the shuttle to port. No problems getting to port or back to rent the van after the cruise. :thumbsup2

Just noticed there's an 8B GTY available for our cruise in case anyone's looking.

Super Excited we are going on our first Disney Cruise!!! Only 11 more months till we set sail. We are a family of 5, we have 3 kids: Lilly 7, Melissa 4 (today) and David who is 5 months. :yay:
