DISNEY DREAM 4 NIGHT 1/12/14-1/16/14 DREAMin' of a vacation at sea!!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE NOTE:

FE sign up will close on 15 November. Anyone after that date will need to start a new sign up. This gives everyone a chance to prepare any gifts.

If the group grows any larger, I will be splitting this one. We are currently at 23 staterooms and 73 people.

I just got notified to customize our magic bands for the WDW part of our trip! :cool1:
What did my kids and grands do? Picked the same darn colors! the ONLY one who is a trendsetter is DGS2--he chose green! We have 2 oranges, 3 pinks and 4 blues!

Haha of course they did! Lucas just wanted the boring grey :confused3

Good morning all! I have been asked to close the current FE group because of prep time in making their gifts. We are at a level I believe supports this with 23 Staterooms and 73 people.

If there are people who want to participate in FE, they can start a second group.

Thoughts?

FE is officially closed. I will be preparing a spreadsheet over the next couple of days…still missing a couple of staterooms…..need stateroom number for Jamison, Jamie and Clara as well as an email address; a stateroom and email address for Rose, Mike George and Max; and stateroom/email for Dave and Ashley. You can message me the info..emails will only be used by me and will not be on the spreadsheet!
:goodvibes

We just signed up for this cruise (Santa will be bringing it to us for Christmas)- and I just came upon this thread. If someone else starts a FE list- or if someone cancels- can we please join'? This looks like fun (reminds me of Swaps in Girl Scouts)

Also since we are newbies- are the gifts for the FE handmade or bought?

AND does the Castaway Cay 5k cost anything? My DD9 and I love running in 5K's- we live local so we try to do at least one Disney 5k a yr- last yr despite the fact that I told her she could skip school- she still made me bring her to school after we finished LOL

We are excited about our first cruise (well I am excited and when the kids find out they will be too!!!) :wave2:

:welcome: Glad you are joining us on our cruise! YOu will have such a wonderful time on the Dream!

Easy first...the 5K on Castaway Cay doesn't cost anything. They meet early on the ship and are first off. One of my sons and one of my daughters-in-law are planning to run it as well.

As to the FE, we can start a second list and see if any others join. There will need to be someone to coordinate it, but I can start it. If nobody else does, we could put your name down on our list if anyone has some extra magic to spread. Many people do extras 'in case' and many don't.

FE gifts can be handmade or bought, it's entirely up to the person that is participating! It can be per person or per stateroom. Some people put their names on the gift and some don't. It is entirely up to the giver.

I hope this answers your questions! If you have any more, there are plenty of people to answer you, we are all friendly! :wave2:

Thanks for the info- we will definitely be joining some of you at the 5K.
And I am now obsessing over the cruise! :) So much fun- I hope that I can keep the secret until Christmas!

Another question- if ya don't mind. I saw online that it said that a passport isn't required but encouraged- all of my friends have said we will be fine w just our Birth Certificates and ID's- but my husband is obsessing- so do I need a passport in your expert opinion? From what I have seen- it's just really needed if we have to fly out of somewhere in case of emergency?

Also- besides the FE- and decorating the doors- any other fun traditions I should know about so I can look like the best mom ever :)

Also- I figured on the first cruise probably wise to not book any excursions and just enjoy the boat and ourselves. My hubby (he's a CM and all of his cast have gone on DCL before) is bugging me to plan adventures- my kids are 9 and will be 6- any opinions?

Also what can I expect the weather to be like? We are local to WDW- is it generally the same as Florida? Just wondering what the water will be like at the beach :beach:

As a warning, according to the
Navigator, the official age for the 5k is 12. There have been different reports if the CMs will or will not let those under 12 run and if they will or will not give them a bib and medal. If your daughter will be disappointed if she can't run, you might want to consider not telling her. If you are a rule breaker, remove the Mickey band before showing up at the meeting place as that is a sure indicator the child is under 12.

Good to know! the last time we did the 5K (walking, not running) it was a lot LESS organized…you just did it! LOL No bibs, medals etc.!! Won't tell my granddaughter…she loves to run with her dad, but she just turned 7.

I just posted a prelim spreadsheet of the FE list on FB, asking everyone to take a look and see if there are any changes to it and if not, ready to send out finals to everyone I have an email address for.

Momoftwodisneyfans, I will add you if you get your info to me…

I need your names, ages, sexes (because sometimes names can be either) any allergies and your email. You can pm me here or on our FB page. You need 10 posts here to send a pm.

Thanks!! I'd like to get the final out this weekend for everyone.
