Welcome Aboard !

It's hard not be excited when you've booked a Disney Cruise and booking the Dream for New Years is just super exciting!

I've added you to the Roll call and the FE list. If you click my Roll Call link below, Denise has done an awesome logo for this cruise if you'd like one for your signature line.

Speaking of your signature line, I had to smile because my daughters want to work on a Disney Cruise ship when they grow up:rotfl:

Hello all.

I want to take the opportunity to introduce ourselves, and join the discussion for the December 29th., Disney Dream cruise.

There will be four of us travelling. My DW, DS11, DD10 and myself.

We have been signed up for this cruise almost since they opened up bookings for it. We were also signed up for a 4 day Disney Dream cruise during February school vacation week (I thought it would be a great time of year to go, plus the kids wouldn't miss any school), but we cancelled it, due to the fact that the air fare was nearly double what we are use to paying.

I hope that the airfare, when released, will be much more reasonable than what I found for February school vacation week.

We are DVC members, and the last two years we have gone to WDW for the week after Thanksgiving. That is a great time of year to visit, but we thought we would switch it up a little bit, and do this Cruise, instead of a WDW vacation.

We have done 3 cruises before. a 3 day cruise (which got us hooked), and two 7 night western (double dip) cruises. I have to say, when the kids were younger, they Loved CC. We had a good time in the other ports, and scheduled activities they would like. But CC is so convenient and nice, that it makes for a wonderful day.

The older ships are large, and I know this ship is huge. But I still hope we can meet some of you in person, over our five cruise days.

Denise i LOVE the logo you made! I'm very behind in reading the chatter. Did you make it for shirts, room signs or ??? It is amazing! We've officially adopted our twins as of last week, and applied for their passports. We even expedited the process in hopes of being able to squeeze in the Wonder Repo from LA to Vancouver next month. One more thing, could you please add another person to the group in our cabins? My older sons are bringing a friend. Oldest DS will be 18 when we cruise and is bringing a close family friend who is like another DS to me. So...for now I will call him "almost DS" and he will be 19 when we cruise. We are all VERY excited! :banana: We've upgraded from our normal Cat 9 to Cat 5 for this trip, but we are keeping that a secret from all the youngsters in our group.

All I did was make the sign. I haven't done anything with it yet.
You can use it if you want.
Can't wait to meet your twins! That is so cool :cool1: I wanted twins.....

I'm so excited! I just booked the cruise yesterday. I'm going with my son and my sister and her family. My sister is currently in Mexico and doesn't even know yet.

Welcome to the newcomers! I think I've updated the Roll Call properly. Double check Wendy to make sure I got all your info correct;) It's going to be an exciting cruise.

My sister is staying back for 4 or 5 days after the cruise. The parks crowd levels should be very low. Wish I could stay but not enough vacation time to go around.

At any rate, I've been very busy planning our Alaska trip. We leave here in 11 weeks! I love the planning part!

Chat soon,
Linda

Thanks, all of our info looks accurate. Might have to change the "number of cruises." Tomorrow we may be booking the repo Wonder cruise from LA to Vancouver. The twins' passports arrived, and now we just need to get the surgeon's okay for Lei to cruise (she's having a gtube placed in about a week and a half from now). :woohoo:

Yesterday we got our little pack confirming our trip. My 4yo DS got the mail but wasn't allowed to open it till I got home. I don't think that I hade ever seen him so excited to see me come home! :yay:

I know what you mean. I recently received the new planning DVD that has the Disney Dream on it. It just made the excitement in this house soar! Friends were over the other day and we all watched it :rotfl: Oh, what fun!

~~~
A warm welcome :welcome: to mstinson14, Sharon and her DD Megan (15). I see that Megan has posted on the teen thread. I will remind Michelle to check that board. She's pretty busy today getting ready for their Sadie Hawkins Dance tonight. Their theme is Disney characters. She will be Minnie, he will be Mickey...she's going pretty low key with just a red hair bow with white dots and red fingernails with white dots. She has a friend who is going as Tinkerbell, full costume and her date is Peter Pan, complete with tights, hes complaining, but complying. Remember, this is high school. :lmao: Should be a fun dance. I can't wait to see the Facebook pictures.
As an update for roll call:
We are late dining (8:30pm) with the 7pm show.
We are in Cat 11B gty right now.
I so hope we have fabulous weather! I keep wanting to switch to something sooner, but the dates for this one are perfect and magical and we can't wait for the double-dip! I've never done a fish extender (this is Disney Cruise #3 and we do decorate doors, but FE stresses me for some reason), but could be convinced...
How many other single parents? I worry that I'll be toasting the New Year alone because the kids will be with their club friends. ;) Though, I know my kids too and I know that they'll probably be with me then... ;)
We will be 36 (me), 12 (my son), and 11 (my daughter). They both have December birthdays (12/7 & 12/25) so we have instituted a new REALLY fun tradition of going on a trip in lieu of birthday parties. Last year, we left for and arrived at Disney mid-day 12/16 (exactly halfway between their birthdays) and it was so great! They wore birthday buttons the whole trip since the trip *WAS* their party. :) The cruise this year is the same...we'll be 22 days and 4 days post birthdays when we board, but the whole point is that the cruise is their party! Can't wait!
I sure hope they're with you! One of the highlights this year for our family was the NYE deck party.
Linda my sons' school had Disney/Pixar as their homecoming theme this year, and since homecoming was right before Halloween, my oldest DS and his gf dressed as Tinkerbell and PeterPan. It was so cute! I should add that my littlest pixie also dressed as Tinkerbell. :goodvibes
What fun! It just shows that kids are kids no matter what age :goodvibes I love to dress up myself!
Unfortunately, the dance got snowed out tonight. We are below the normal snowline, but it started snowing not long after I posted earlier and it did not let up until they canceled the dance...of course, very little snow on the ground now.
Got the updates. My sister is single traveling with her daughter who will almost be 4. Maybe we should try to get a New Years meet together for those who are traveling alone or those who would just want to be a part of a group? I think that sounds great! Ideas???
My daughter is a December baby also, December 12, 2000...so she will turn 11 just before the cruise. My sister who is traveling with us is the 16th. We did a cruise in 2008 and celebrated her birthday. Since then, we've managed to tie each cruise in with someone's birthday or our anniversary. I have a rule that if it is in the next 6 months or in the past 6 months, it is worthy of celebrating;)
Linda.....
SNOW!!! I wish it would snow down here.:confused3...I would love to have some pictures for my photography class.
sorry about the dance.
It sure got cold here last night and again we were hoping....
Even last week when we were supposed to get it we only got rain. We have had so much rain too. Now they say tonight and tomorrow is another big storm with wind. The ground is so soaked I am worried about trees falling.
Be safe up there...you have more trees then we do in the flat lands...don't stand under any...
Hope they reschedule the dance.
Hi Denise,
Snow melted too fast. Know what you mean about the trees though, a branch did fall, hit my car door right on the handle. The door won't open and there is a ripple on my car door :sad1: Gotta go by the auto body shop on Monday. Besides the insurance deductible, I hope my rates don't go up.
The ground is saturated. We've got some pretty big trees up here that are not used to ground this wet nor are they use to weight of the snow...but I think the snow has passed.
Linda
Snow? Wow... glad I didn't head to Folsom today, it was probably dumping rain there. The rain comes and goes by us, and the wind is awful!!! Sorry to hear about the dance.
Wind was so bad last night a friend of mine had a portapotty blow across a parking lot and into his car while he was at work last night.
