Disney Dream 12/29/2011

Okay, just read through these quickly but we're adding a couple more teenage boys to the mix of teens on this trip. We will be traveling with the following:

Me
DH
DM (this will be my mom's first cruise and first trip to WDW)
DS - 16
DS - 13
DD - 9

ages at time of the cruise. This is our second Disney Cruise. We were on the Magic last time and absolutely loved it. Booked while on board for the Christmas cruise but then switched to this one to be on the new ship.

Would love to participate in an FE. We did it on our last cruise and had such an awesome time with it. Look forward to chatting with you all and will point my boys to the kids thread!

Hey where is every one. We need new joiners as well. Any news regarding the ship?

get the teens and children to post on the kids board...very quiet :sad2: we need more people

We're booked! Me :flower1:: and dbf :3dglasses...no kids. We've only been on one other Disney Cruise, the Wonder back in 2007 for a 4-nighter, so this ought to be a lot of fun. I'm so excited. I just made the deposit. Here's hoping for warm weather :cheer2:

We booked this on the last NYE Magic cruise - Disney does this all so well! I am so excited about the new ship and how exciting to be the first NYE cruise on the new boat! At the time of sailing it will be me - Renee (44) and DH Alan (44), DD Anna (7) and DS AJ (5). Anna and AJ have cruised Disney every year of their lives! We just love it! We were thinking about changing up the vacation a bit and then they came out with the Dream - so here we are again! There is a chance Alan's Mom may join us, but she has not booked yet. She has been on a couple with us. We will be in 12014 and can't wait to check out the concierge lounge and Remy's!!! The kids are excited about all the new stuff in the kids areas! Anyway, this will be our 7th Disney cruise - the first one was in September and the others have been either Christmas or NYE cruises. This year we are going on the Magic 11 day Holiday cruise. We have always gone on 7+ day cruises, so the 5 day will feel short, but it is the longest the Dream has to offer, so we are there! Look forward to getting to know you all better!

Welcome to all the newcomers. I'm excited for this cruise. I've never cruised over New Year's before and bringing in the New Year on the Dream will be, well it will be a Dream.

Hi everyone. I will be switching our reservations to the Dream for the 12/29 cruise when our travel agent gets back from vacation. We went on the Dis podcast cruise last May. We boarded on mothers day and it was just awesome. Our group will consist of me (Michelle) DH(Steve) Sarah (12) and Trevor(9) at the time of cruising and my mom Judy.
Bringing in NYE on the dream just sounds.... Dreamy.

Just booked this cruise, which will be our 5th.

We had wanted to do the inaugural voyage but the time got away from me and so we'll be using our points (we're DVC members) for the Dream's first NYE sailing. VERY EXCITED!!! Our daughter doesn't even know yet.

What can we expect that's different with respect to it being a holiday sailing?

Welcome to the newcomers ~ Like MissandMrVacation says, it should be dreamy!

This is our first holiday cruise so I don't really know what to expect. We did a December cruise before, but it wasn't really at Christmas time although the ship was decorated. I don't recall any special events, but then again, it wasn't really Christmas, it was early December. Looking forward to people chiming on on that topic.

Hello everyone. We're booked on this Holiday :santa: Cruise! It will be me, DH, our twin DD's who will have turned 8 the month before, and my mom. We are from Northern Virginia and Gram is from Denver. It will be our second DCL outing, the first one happens this October -- the Magic Halloween pirate: Cruise to the western Caribbean!

Hi Renee!!! We were on the same 12/20/08 cruise together;) We loved it so much, we are sailing again 12/23/10 for Christmas on the Wonder and then 12/29/11 for New Year's on the Dream!!

I think this is shaping up to be a VERY nice cruise. I have been to both WDW and DCL over Christmas and both were fantastic but I have never been over New Years so this will a first for us! But knowing Disney, I am sure it will absolutely stunning!!

Hi everyone.

I just emailed Dreams for a quote on this cruise.

i may have to talk dh into (ya like that would be hard) but we may be joining y'all ;)

we've never been away over the holidays so this would be so much fun.

i asked for a quote on a balcony room. the first cat with one. how are they different then the wonder? do these ones have the navigator balconies? i dont' want one of those - just a regular balcony with the glass wall not the metal ones.

these rooms are a little smaller then on the wonder aren't they? 169 dream vs 184 wonder for the cat 11/12 i wonder if that's to get more rooms on the ship.

anyone know how many restaurants the dream will have and how the dinning rotation will go on a 5 night? is it 1 2 2 3 3 or 1 2 3 1 2 or 1 2 3 3 2?

:) cheers
