Disney done differently, (BOG dining updates pages 202 and 203)

Boo to You!

I looked at my watch as we left Mickey and Minnie. We had 5 minutes before parade time. DH had it in his head that he wanted to go on top of the train station. I did this once for slinkyman's WISH trip when they were the parade Marshalls so that I could get great pictures of them. Unfortunately this spot did not work well for me to take pictures of the Boo to You Parade.

As we arrived at the train station, a cm told us we could stand anywhere except the roped off area. That was for the DJ. We found our spot and Anakin found a table with rain drop puddles. He began connecting the drops with his finger. The cm occasionally came up to him engaging him in conversation. He told him when the DJ comes he can join him (the cm) and dance. Anakin thought that would be fun.

The people beside us told us that the parade has been delayed, but they didn't know for how long.

After about a thirty minute wait, the dance team arrived and the DJ came up to the train station.

Anakin did dance. I got some cute video. By the time the DJ left he knew the moves. I found him yesterday doing that dance and singing. Funny how some things he retains so easily.

Here is another tip. After the DJ leaves, his taped off spot is open game for anyone. We stayed put, but boy did people scramble for his spot. It's looking straight down Main St. to the castle!

It was around this time that Anakin discovered fire in a window at the train station.

He panicked!! He was screaming fire, fire. He wanted off that train station right away. We told him it was for Halloween decoration. It wasn't a real fire. Disney wouldn't allow us up there if it was a real fire. His poor little heart was beating so fast as he tried to gain composure and calm down.


The parade soon started. We never did see the headless horseman. Not sure if he made his run before we got to our spot, or if they didn't have him making his run because of the weather. I know he fell off the horse a few parties after we were there due to the wet and slippery street.

Maybe this picture needs to go in the disturbing picture thread?

According to the party map, the Villians Show was starting. We had to make a judgement call. See the show from a distance since we were so far away from it and keep Anakin out in the heat OR go to the princesses in the airconditioning and cool him off.

The Villians Dance Mix & Mingle was suppose to be at 8:50. The parade didn't finish passing us until around 9pm. So we chose the Prince and Princess M&G. It said 5 minute wait, and we figured we would be out way before Happy HalloWishes. Or would we?...

Very cool that Anakin got to dance. Was it to the "calling all the monsters" song? I had Zoe practice that dance before the trip... but we never saw it happen during the party.

The headless horsemen was THE thing I wanted to see at the party. We were told that due to the rain he did not come out.

I am so sorry the fire started Anakin. Looking at that pic though... I can certainly see how he would mistake it and be anxious.

I saw the video on you tube of the pre parade dance ages ago and was jealous of anyone getting to go this year because I so would have wanted to do that dance lol. Glad Anakin got to join in.

I didn't pay attention to the music. Both dh and Anakin said yes, that was the song.

So sorry you missed him. I had a feeling he didn't come out, but wasn't sure. I have only ever seen the headless horseman once. It was pretty amazing.

He didn't like that kind of Disney magic. He even said he thought this was suppose to be a Not so Scary party. I don't think he'll ever go to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal. The commercials for that party freak him out. And they play them during the day time too.

Got caught up on MNSSHP! How fun! The last two septembers we have been we have not gone, but now I'm thinking we should. I just love how Disney decorates for fall and Halloween. Anakin is a ham with the girls! Love how he engages them in play in the lines. I hated to read about the bullying. Kids just seem so much meaner now than when I was a kid. So sad!

Saw you on the WW thread. I pop on from time to time. Trying to get back to my lighter days......I lost about 8 pounds a few months ago and got stuck. Down 3 so far on WW. Got meals planned so far for the day and recorded online. We can do this!!

It was a very nice party. I think it needs to be an all day even to do everything! There are so many things we wanted to do, but didn't get to it. It's too much money to justify doing it twice. Maybe next year?

Grumpy does not do Halloween. He hasn't for years. Back when my parents visited us, my dad would stay with him and they'd find something else fun to do.

He thinks very differently than kids his age. Being different seems to set him up. That's where the acting classes have been great. Everyone in both of his acting classes is quirky. They all have their own uniqueness and embrace each other's differences. I love it!

I've been doing WW off and on for a few years. There for a long time I was doing WW and zumba and I was really doing good keeping the weight off and staying trim. But when everything changed in 2010, with my dad having his brain bleed and Anakin having his first grand mal, I began neglecting myself and focusing only on their recoveries. Now I'm bringing some focus back to me and by SWW 2013 I hope to be in better shape!

My husband lost ove 20 pounds over summer. He is at a plateau himself.

MNSSHP To do list​

Yesterday I was cleaning out the inside of the car. I came across our MNSSHP to do list. These were the things we definately wanted to do.

1. Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade DONE

2. Villians' Dance Mix and Mingle Missed the 7:45 and 8:50 shows. Still two more shows to try to catch 10:05 or 11:15

3. Happy HalloWishes 9:30 coming up soon

4. Woody's Happy Harvest Roundup Character Dance Party This was the only dance inside dance party. If Anakin is going to dance it would have to be in the airconditioning.

5. Trick or Treat At this point in the party we had done the Frontierland Trick or Treat Trail, POTC ToT Location, and . That's 2 of the 11 spots.

Wow, I think the pictures from the train station came out really well, it looks like a great vantage point. And it sounds like it was a lot of fun being near the DJ and getting to learn new moves. It sounds like Anakin had a good time, except for the fire incident. It sounds like he was able to calm himself down though eventually?

So sorry to hear about the bullying. I feel like every kid this day either gets bullied or is a bully. Middle school was rough for me, it got better in high school, but college is the best because as we like to say, there is a higher concentration of "weirdos". I'm glad he's found friends in theatre though.

I keep meaning to ask, how is Grumpy liking college?

The Padawan Becomes the Teacher​

We left off last with leaving the Train Station and heading to the Prince and Princess M&G. It was still hot outside and the rain had stopped. Anakin was all sweaty since dancing.

I can't begin to express how thankful we are that Disney created the airconditioned M&G on Main St. We have used it so many times since as a place to cool down.

The wait time said 5 minutes. There was nobody in front of us and nobody behind us. We got to the end of the queue and waited a few minutes before being led into the M&G room. There were people already in the room. We became the third family in line, with nobody behind us.

A woman in line engaged Anakin in conversation.
She said, "I see you are a jedi."
He said, "Actually, I am a boy, but I am dressed as a Jedi."
Her, "Yes, now that you said that, I do see that you are indeed a boy."
She winked at us when he wasn't watching her.

Have you ever had your very own M&G? Imagine being able to spend as much time as you wanted with the characters. This was our experience at this particular M&G!!

First up were Cinderella and Prince Charming. These two made our night!!! I wish I could remember the conversation. It was priceless.

They had spent at least 10 minutes with him conversing. After the posed pictures were taken, Prince Charming asked Anakin what it is he was doing with his hands. Of course, my Anakin had to explain that the Anakin at SWW taught him to do this. So he taught Cinderella and Prince Charming how to use the force.

Prince Charming noticed that Anakin makes a sound effect and he doesn't. He also said that maybe it's because of the gloves. Maybe they interfere with the force? Anakin didn't know what to say to that. He needed some time to process that.

While he was processing it, Cinderella noticed that there were buttons or something on Anakin's shirt. She asked if she pushed the button would anything happen. For anyone who is a SWW you all know that pushing Vader's buttons is hard to resist. So this was very funny for us.

By this time people were now forming behind us. I have no idea how long we spent with Cinderella and Charming. But it was great quality time!!

Snow White and her prince were up next. Is he a Charming too? I can't remember his name?!

As I handed our photopass card to the photographer with Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, I told her how excited we all were to see Flynn. Flynn had left the M&G outside by the first time we had seen Rapunzel. So this was our first time meeting Flynn. He heard me, and boy did he ever make this M&G special!

Anakin hugged Rapunzel, but it was clear he was more happy to see Flynn.

They talked a long time. I could not hear the conversation, but it was intense.

After we posed for the family picture, Flynn said something to Anakin. The two of them got deep into conversation and were laughing up a storm. There were now people behind us. The little girl went up to Rapunzel and Flynn began to follow us as we headed to the door. They were talking about the Stabbington Brothers. Anakin told him he thinks he saw them trick or treating. Now the conversation turned to frying pans. That poor little girl was still waiting to see Flynn and Rapunzel was giving her undivided attention. But Flynn and Anakin were still playing. I ruined the fun when I suggested that we go out to see what else we can do at the party. They said their goodbyes and we the M&G to the sound of fireworks outside.

We had missed HalloWishes! By the time we got outside it was over. Wow! We had spent more time than we realized with the prince and princesses, but I wouldn't trade that quality time even for HalloWishes.

Thanks! We didn't know anything about the dj coming or the dance thing. It was a very pleasant surprise!

He calmed eventually. From time to time he mentioned that his heart was still beating fast, but he quickly got into the parade and forgot about the fire.

I'm sorry middle school was rough on you. That does seem to be when kids can be at their meanest.
