Disney Dollars....

Does anyone use Disney dollars?? Do you get a discount for using them-or purchasing them?? I saw a lady buying them in the Disney store-she said it forces her to save money for her vacation-which is really smart-since you can only use them in disney stores and at the parks.

I havne't used them but I know many who do.

They buy them and than put them away towards their trip, since the money is then only accepted at WDW.

No discounts that I am aware of but I am sure someone else will chime in here with more info.

Nope, as far as I know, there are no discounts. We have been using them for the past 3 years. During the year we surprise each other with disney bucks for various holidays (mothers & fathers day, Christmas stocking stuffers, Easter basket fillers etc.) We put this toward our spend $$$ for our wdw trips. They go right into our Disney fund and the good part is that they take away the temptation of dipping into our cash funds because you can only use them at Disney (and I am not sure, but you may be able to use them in Disney Stores)

We always try to keep about $20 in Disney Dollars in our pocket during our trips. You never know when you are going to want a coke or popcorn and they cart's electronics aren't working.

Any left overs go to the nieces and nephews at Christmas.

The Easter Bunny and Santa both left some Disney bucks for our sons. They loved them! Plus, now that's a little less money that we need to save for our trip.

My husband and I just went to Disney for our Honeymoon in October adn received a lot of Disney Bucks as gifts...It was one of our favorite gifts we recieved!!!!!!!!! They were so useful, and we couldn't afford to do the dining plan and pay for our wedding at the same time, so they came in handy for snacks and lunches and whatnot throughout the day. We are currently planning on getting a few dollars a month to put aside for our next trip, when we can use the dining plan and can use the disney dollars for snacks and souvenirs!!! Highly recommend them.

Hi we use the disney dollars too. We save them all year and they really add up if you get them for holidays and gifts.

We also use the disney cards though and they are even better in a way. We get one at the Disney store or you can buy them online. Buying them online they have different pictures on them.

You can then add money to them throughout the year by going to the Disney Store and adding cash. We did that last year and had a card that had $500 on it. It was like free money when we got to the park.

Just an idea that works for us.
