Disney Dollars?

Okay, I need to be educated again abt disney, planning first trip in the fall, whats Disney Dollars?

Disney Dollars are just money that can be used all throughout Walt Disney World they can be purchased in almost any Disney Store and are a great way to give kids (or yourself) spending, money. When i was younger and my parents were planning trips to WDW they would begin rewarding me with Disney Dollars for doing chores or getting good grades on tests. Its a great way for kids to have their own spending money (and think a little less about how much they can get you to spend on them)

I bought some Disney Dollars at the Disney Store at the mall before our last trip. It is just money with different characters on it. I think there are $1s, $5s, $10s and maybe $20s? They work like gift cards at the Disney Store and in WDW. I got a bunch of singles and used them as rewards for my daughters before our Aug 2007 trip, so they would have some spending money for Disney.

disney dollars are the bomb diggity. i tell all the family members to give them to my son as gifts and if he gets cash i turn them into disney dollars. that way my son has his own money to spend and i don't have to listen to the gimmies in every freaking store and kiosk we pass. ds usually ends up with about 10 bucks a day budget

I've started buying them when I have extra cash that I'm putting up for vacation anyway. That way I can't cheat and spend it on something silly.

Our closest Disney store is about 200 miles away. Anyone know if you can have them mailed to you?

Just chiming in here. I totally prefer to use Disney gift cards for the kids' spending money. Then you don't have to keep track of change, you don't have to worry about the bills getting wet, etc. We had two cards, wrote the kids' initials on the front with a sharpie. Piece of cake.

That is exactly what I did. My son just turned 5 and everyone who asked for birthday ideas, I told them to get him Disney Dollars. At his party, he ended up with a total of $100 disney dollars!! He was so excited!
