Someone mentioned to me Disney is discouraging side by side double strollers?? Is there any truth to this??? I sure hope not because we are renting a side by side one in 38 short days..........but from an off site rental company??? Anyone know anymore info????

I hope not. I always bring my side by side double stroller with me. I don't see how they can tell you that you can't use a certain type of stroller. My stroller is not as wide as Disney's rentals. Sounds pretty fishy to me.

Personally I wish they would, especially the huge double joggers!!!

I have used both types and I can tell you that side by side are easier and safer for people around it. Atleast you can see what is directly in front of you.

I have had a front/back and side/side and if you think the side/side are bad you should see a front/back. Its harder to see what is in front of you in a front/back. I deff prefer side/side because they are easier to move. you might take up more room walking, but at least you are less likely to hit someone. Besides the ones disney rents out are side/side.

I've seen them there before, but my husband and I just bring 2 umbrella strollers instead. For us it's easier to push a single versus a double.

Discouraging them in what way exactly?

That is what was going through my head. What exactly woud they do?

They rent double strollers and the price increased significantly several months ago and people complained a lot. Maybe that is where the information came from.

Disney does have a limit to the size of the stroller, that's about it:

Items that you may not bring into the theme parks include but are not limited to:

•Items with wheels, such as:
•Wagons
•Skateboards
•Scooters
•Inline skates
•Shoes with built-in wheels
•Two-wheeled or three-wheeled conveyances
•Strollers larger than 36" x 52" (92 x 132 cm)
•Suitcases, coolers or backpacks with or without wheels larger than 24" (61 cm) long x 15" (38 cm) wide x 18" (46 cm) high. (Coolers required for medication may be stored in a locker or at Guest Relations.)
•Any trailer-like object that is pushed or towed by an ECV wheelchair or stroller
•Alcoholic beverages
•Weapons of any kind
•Folding chairs
•Glass containers (excluding baby food jars and perfume bottles)
•Pets (unless they are service animals)
In Disney's Animal Kingdom theme Park (for the safety of the wildlife), balloons, straws and drink lids are not permitted.

I hardly doubt that to be true. Most double strollers are even small enough to fit through standard doors.
