Disney discounted room only offer on UK-Expedia; ended 31 March.

I read on another thread that Disney has changed its policy about the DDP and that you can now add it to room only reservations. Wondering if anyone has tried adding it to this type of room reservation.

I kind of like the dining plan  and would love to add it.

Wow, I hadn't heard that about the DDP! Could you direct me to the thread where you read this news?

Nope. In order to book the dining plan, you have to purchase a package from Disney. A package used to be room and tickets, but now they've expanded the definition to include "ticketless" packages, which only includes the room and dining plan. Unless you book the room (with no discount), you cannot add the dining plan.

On the bright side, the dining plan is usually a waste of money anyway.

I have a reservation coming up in the fall, but I need to shorten the trip by one day. Can they just drop a day or will I have to cancel the entire reservation?

I'm not sure. But I called to change the theme on our AoA Family Suite from Nemo to Cars and they told me I would have to cancel the entire reservation and pay the current price to reserve again.

Has anyone gone on the trip they book through Expedia UK? How did it go? I have had some trouble to MDE and linking the reservation but otherwise it seems to be in the system as a "third party" reservation.

We had a one night stay at Pop in March booked through Expedia UK and everything went perfectly.

I am trying to drop from 7 days to 6 days. I was on hold for 30 minutes while the expedia.uk agent called Disney. It sounds like they are going to try and just drop the days but expedia had to send Disney an email requesting the change. I have a 2 bedroom villa at Beach Club reserved and I have an amazing rate, so I kept telling him "I want to keep the same rate..." I hope he understood me.

I am still not sure if he was able to do it, he said to call back tomorrow.:scratchin

We had a 3 night stay at CBR in March to test it out before our "real" vacation in October. We got our MagicBands at the same timeframe as we did for our trip the previous October and also had no problems making FP+ reservations with our APs or online check in. We definitely weren't treated any differently at the resort and even lucked out and got a water view (paid for king) along with our requests for Jamaica and 1st floor.

We had no issues at all and had a great trip. I'm so happy I saw this deal. I not only saved enough to add a 14th night at CBR, but also booked ASSp for our travel-in night AND the 3 nights in March and still ended up saving almost $1000 off my original 13-night booking directly with Disney!

You absolutely can add the DDP to a room only reservation. They started it a few months ago.

Yes, but to a Disney room only booking, no?

I called (twice actually to verify the info) and you cannot add the dining plan to reservations that where book through other websites such as Expedia. Just in case anyone else is wondering.

You can if the reservation was book on Disney's website or by phone directly with Disney.

Thank you for this site.
I will keep a look out for using in the future.
I have two rooms booked at the Contemporary for a pre cruise stay from December 27-29 and just looked up the hotel on the UK site.
I would only be saving $5 a room so going to keep what I have booked now with Disney but will keep looking.
Thanks.

Has anyone who booked through UK Expedia been able to get the BOG Fastpass?

I keep reading that you need a 12 digit reservation number. Mine is only 9 digits. It works just fine on MDE, I have everything set up there but I can't get into the BOG fastpass system.

Use the res number from your Disney Magical Express luggage tags. (Starts with a 4 and is 12 digits) Its at the top by the crease. Worked for me... good luck!
