Rack rate: $1,245
Expedia UK: £446.70 ($698) therefore saving up to 44% on Disney's rack rate.

Unfortunately there's not so many savings in 2015 when compared to the 2014 discounts, but for one of the exceptions I thought it would be worth while comparing a 2014 discounted room rate to 2015's and along with the difference in the exchange rates.

From #266 posted on 7th March 2014.
Many dates between Sunday 24th August 2014 through to 8th December 2014 in a standard room at AKL was £116 per night, about $192.

Presently on Expedia.co.uk the same standard room at AKL is £125.15 for many of the nights between Sunday 23rd August 2015 through to 7th December, but because the $ has strengthened against the £ it works out at $194.25, so for that room type its only a few dollars more per night in 2015 than in 2014.

Hi - usually a lurker but I just booked Caribbean Beach for February using the Expedia UK deal for Dh, Ds and myself! I am having trouble linking my reservation to MDE... any tips? I see two confirmation codes (one all numerical, 12 digits and one is a mix of letters and numbers). I've tried both and I keep getting an error message "reservation not found". I do have a confirmed booking email from Expedia.

Thoughts?

Hi and Merry Christmas

For our booking earlier this year we first received a 11-digit number like this...Expedia.co.uk itinerary number: 152658*****
When we first checked our itinerary online it show "Booked" and hopefully within a few days yours should change to "Confirmed" along with a 12-digit number that can be use on MDE, ours looked like....Hotel confirmation number : 4400618*****

Check out the experience of others from the quick links that I've pasted below from post #1 and just click on the post numbers.

Hope you managed to get a good price but please keep checking both Expedia web sites as some rates are better on Expedia's US web site and also against the others such as Orbitz with their current 15% promo code GIFTME as you can always cancel the Expedia UK booking if a better deal crops up which can happen around this time of year.

From post #1.
You will receive an Expedia Itinerary number but you'll require a second 12 digit number beginning 4xxxxxxxxxxx so to access your reservation on My Disney Experience. Click on #125, #34 and #99.

After a few days a second number should automatically be added to your Expedia Itinerary, if not you will need to e-mail Expedia customer support. Click on #129, #86, #286, #287, #332, #325. And if all else fails check out #563.

Hope the above helps, Christmas might slow your itinerary being updated and please post back and let us know how long it took.

Thanks for this great thread:).

I'm looking to book Easter week. March 29-April 4. Beach Club CL standard.

Disney World site total $5244.78.

Orbitz total $4592.20 with the giftme promo code.

Expedia UK site £2,386.38. I used a conversion chart and my US dollars total seems too good to be true. Can anyone confirm the total?

From what I've read on this thread, a Disney visa will add 3% foreign currency fee. I need to check to see if I have any charge cards without a fee.

Any other great deals for my dates? I'm still checking around....

I get $3712.73 (converting pounds to dollars) Yes, I think that's a great deal!

Call Chase and ask it they will waive the foreign currency fee. You will likely need to call them to let them know you are going to do the transaction anyway. (otherwise it will be declined because they will think it is fraudulent) They may say no but it never hurts to ask. :)

TIA. I searched the Expedia UK website for Disneyland Resort Hotels -in California-and found "sold out" on all my date searches. Do you know if any deals are ever offered for the Disneyland Resort Hotels? Paradise Pier, Disneyland Hotel, or Disney's Grand Californian?:confused3

Thanks for replying hollypoast. That is the same conversion I got. I went through the purchase process on the expedia site and it gave me the option to purchase in USD and that amount was about 150 higher. After reading advice on this thread, someone suggested leaving it as the UK total and the total charged will be slightly lower. Wondering if I should try it. I like the idea of hitting "submit" and knowing for sure my USD total....but I like the idea of a lower conversion too..

Yes, what a good deal indeed. It's almost 30% off a blacked out period by Disney.

So after doing more reading on this thread....

Does the USD total I get in the checkout process already have the foreign credit card fee added into it? So I won't get charged another foreign fee on my credit card, just the total USD on the expedia checkout?

Example:
My proposed total 2,386.38 British Pound Sterling = 3,712.73 USD. When I go through the checkout process, it gives me total of 3,860.75 USD. Does that total already have my credit card foreign transaction fee added into it? So I won't get another foreign transaction fee on top of that?

I'm looking for dates in December. I can't even find Disney hotels. Am I doing something wrong or do they just not have them on there for that time of year yet?

Are U.S" citizens able to purchase via Disney uk site? Because I looked at the Poly and the price difference is almost $800! Just wondering?:confused3

how does that work?
You book it just as if you were booking on Expedia US version. It's no different except as I said, make sure your CC doesn't charge a foreign transaction fee. You also may want to alert them you will have a foreign charge.

Thinking about booking through Expedia UK for 2 rooms for March. We are going with a set of friends and their 2 kids, thus the need for 2 rooms. How complicated do you think it will be once we get the confirmation numbers to link our reservations to our MDE?
Will both rooms only be able to be linked to my MDE since I am booking both rooms? Or will I be able to send my friend their confirmation number and they can link it to their MDE? We will want to make FP reservations together so not sure the simplest way to do this. Last time we went to disney with them we did not stay together and had a hard time getting FP to line up.
TIA!

Make sure you read the first post. SAMAYA did an excellent job of capturing/summarizing answers to everyones questions there.

DME can be reserved here: www.disneysmagicalexpress.com

Not sure on the FP however, I believe if you add both reservations to one MDE account you can reserve all at the same time.

Good luck!::yes::

DO NOT DO THIS! Yes, you will get a foreign transaction fee on top of the charge. So in effect you now get the foreign transaction fee on the new US dollar total. It's one of the great credit card scams. When purchasing things in Europe never accept the dollar offer, it's going to cost more (and yes, basically you are purchasing this in Europe)
