Disney discounted room only offer on UK-Expedia; ended 31 March.

I'm very frustrated because I reserved 2 rooms together-one for us and one for a friend. I was able to call Disney and get the 2 confirmation numbers. I linked our room without a problem to our MDE but I gave our friend their conf number and was walking him through linking everything up and we realized his room has my name on it and 3 more slots for names. I need to take my name off and put his name on it.
I do not recall anywhere on expedia even asking for any names other than the person making the reservation (me).
I have called disney twice and got two different answers. First the lady told me she couldn't touch the ressie but to call back and speak with their UK travel dept and they could help me. When I called back to speak with that dept the first girl I spoke with told me no, I would have to call expedia and fix it with them. I asked her if we could just fix it at check in because we already have our dining ressies made and fast passes and those are not reliant on the room. She said she would not recommend that.
I have emailed expedia twice and still not received a response.
Any advice? I was trying not to cancel the room and rebook because I wanted the 2 rooms made together because I am requesting connecting rooms.

when did you send off your email? i sent my email off on the 16th, they responded on the 17th saying that they sent a email to the hotel to fix it. today, the 21st, i received an email back from expedia that it was all fixed. i actually knew this already as i called to get the confirmation number and verified the change at that point.
what email did you use, do you know? it was hard to find on their web site. try travel@support.expedia.co.uk thats where i have been getting my responses from. don't forget to include your intenerary number.

I did send the emails to that address. The last one I sent on Sunday and still haven't gotten a reply! Hope I hear soon!

I had this problem when using the voucher mobile20new. I was booking 3 rooms requesting adjoining for 2. I had to cancel and rebook.

Ugh! That is what I was trying to avoid. Do you cancel and rebook right away online or do you wait a day or 2 to rebook?

what about the exchange rate? do you not lose money in doing a cancelation and re-booking? i had originally thought of doing that but i know that having expedia refund me i would lose on the exchange.

When I made my reservation, my name was listed, but my husband's was Guest (bc Expedia never asks for names of those in your party.)

When I linked my confirmation # on My Disney Experience, I just changed the "Guest" to my husband's name at that time. Took me all of 5 seconds. Is that not what I was supposed to do???

Isn't what is on "My Disney Experience" really all that matters since that is what links to your magic bands? As long as the name there matches your friend's name, shouldn't you be all set? Just edit it right there on the site?

What do you do about tickets and dining if you book through expedia?
 
You can't get the dining plan if you book through Expedia. That doesn't matter to us as our family as we don't find value in the dining plan. You can still book dining reservations. You can buy tickets when you get to your resort.

No I understand what you are saying. The problem with mine is that there are 2 rooms and my name is on his room reservation, instead of his name. There is room on his reservation for 3 more family members but I am not able to remove my name and put his on it. Does that make sense?
 
Thank you so much for responding! Free dining is usually offered to us, as we go in September. Will we be ineligible for that?


If free dining is offered you'll have to decide if the Expedia UK deal is better than booking on Disney's website (paying rack rate for your room) for the free dining. (can't get free dining through Expedia UK) If free dining is offered, it will likely be announced in May so in plenty of time to cancel your Expedia UK reservation without penalty except for any fluctuations in the exchange rate; likely only $10-25 dollars.

Also, you will want to purchase your theme park tickets in time to link them to your My Disney Experience page so you can select fast passes. (60 days out) You can order tickets directly through Disney or from an authorized broker such as Undercover Tourist.

I lost less than $3 per reservation with the cancellation - so less than $10 to cancel and rebook.

Now I have all on one reservation - linked to magic bands - tickets ordered and linked.

that's not bad at all. I had visions of hundreds of dollars lost in exchange, I have a vivid imagination. lol.

mine is all fixed up but the one thing I noticed was when I went into my Disney experience our address had been changed to some weird U.S. address. no idea where that came from. we have used my Disney experience four times now and it had always had the correct information. easy enough to fix but odd all the same.

Same thing here. Our address under contact information hadn't changed but when I wanted to customize magicbands the shipping address had changed to some U.S. address (in Texas iirc). Weird.

When I cancelled an order with them last year I actually made $9:)

I cancelled all three then tried one more time to be sure I had not erred along the way cancelled the fourth then rebooked three rooms on one ressie I actually think that's better chances of us getting adjoining/adjacent rooms
 
I've seen a few people post 10% coupon codes only to have someone point out the fine print that only valid for uk resident. Can anyone confirm if codes have worked for US residents?
