Disney discounted room only offer on UK-Expedia; ended 31 March.

I'm finding that in order to download the Mobile App to my Kindle I need to enter a UK phone number (trying to use the Valentine promo). How do I avoid this?

OK, I'm all booked. The VALENTINES10 worked. What is my next step? I have a confirmation from Expedia ... do I e-mail them in a few days for a Disney confirmation so I can make a MDE account? Also - why am I reading you can't get dining plan? I thought all you needed was an MDE account to link a dining plan to?

I don't know if Disney is supposed to do this, but last month I lucked out and just needed a quick call to the resort reservation number to get my confirmation number to link. And the dining plan isn't linked through MDE, you have to buy it with the room. So you can't get it with Expedia.

How would you go about getting a dining plan then? There has to be a way. My friend booked her trip (not thru Expedia or anything) but did not buy the dining plan with the room. She later added it on about three weeks before going.

Unless there's been a recent change then sorry but you can't add a Disney dining plan to a UK Expedia booking, its room only.

Which web site did your friend use, maybe it was booked through Disney?

A quick web search found no recent changes and during that search found a response from Disney Parks Moms Panel to a similar question and although its over 2-years old I believe this is still the case.

Question:

  • Considering purchase Disney hotel through Expedia instead of Disney's website. Can I still include a dining plan if booked threw Expedia?
  • - Asked by D from New York on 11/10/2012
  • Hello Debra!

Thank you so much for stopping by to see us with your question! There are definitely a lot of options when it comes to booking your Walt Disney World vacation. Vacation packages are available through third-party travel sites. You can only add the Disney Dining Plan to your vacation package if the third-party site offers it as an option at the time of booking. You can not add the Disney Dining Plan to your package after the initial booking.

I hope this helps, D! Please come back and see us again real soon!

Thanks, Samaya for this post!
I booked Akl standard view 9/5-9/7/15 for 2 adults and 2 kids. Disney site was $661.50 total. Paid $376.60 (238.60 Gbp) so a savings of $284.90!! Used mobile20new hopefully it will work out ok since I just read it's not a US code. So happy!

Many thanks jskacoc and great to read you've made such a saving, in the meantime keep comparing in case a better discount appears on a US web site as you can easily cancel, have a wonderful vacation and stay at Animal Kingdom.

Just booked Beach Club garden view for 4 nights in March for $1028 vs $1733 through Disney. I have free rooms at either of the Radisson's in Orlando, but I want to stay onsite for at least part of our trip. We are staying our last 2 nights at the Radisson Lake Buena Vista. The rates at BC went up significantly the last 2 nights, so I am going to go with our free 2 nights at Radisson. It will only be one day that we will drive to the parks since we are heading to Clearwater for a night and then driving back to Indiana.

Another great saving, have a fantastic time at the Beach Club and hope you have great weather as we also arrive in March.

Just called Expedia UK (have free calling with our prepaid cell phone through Lycamobile) and received my Disney confirmation number. It was easy and only took about 5 minutes while the rep contacted Disney. My next set of magic bands are customized and should ship out soon.

For those of you asking about getting a Disney confirmation #, I have called CRO 407-WDISNEY twice now and have received it within 5 minutes both times (due to cancellation/rebooking).

Looks like I am going to have to cancel my Expedia UK ressie AGAIN due to flight dates/pricing so this will be my third time calling to get my Disney confirmation # after I rebook hotel, LOL.

Not sure when I'll rebook again - think the mobile code has now expired.

I tried that and the rep I talked with couldn't find it, how long after you book are you able to get it from them?

That's weird. Both times it was at least a week after booking though. I would just explain to whatever CM answered that I booked through a 3rd party and need my Disney confirmation # that started with a "4" so that I could link it to my MDE account. They'd ask me for my trip dates, find my reservation, and then give me the number.

I'm thinking about booking a room for akl thanksgiving week before a cruise. When does this offer end? I got a 50000 mile southwest premier credit card offer the other day and would like to wait until I get it before booking because I do not have any other cards with no foreign transaction fees? Should I go ahead and book now and just pay the fee or should I wait until I get the card. TIA this is my first time using expedi uk:) also are there any codes to use that are still good?

I just found a code online for 10% off which doesn't have to be used on a mobile device - TRAVELHAPPY10 - I think it expires early April.

I booked this past Thursday. My itinerary says "confirmed" instead of booked since the beginning. I was going to wait until tomorrow to call for the "4" code because it seems like that was the average time frame to show up according to previous posts. Should I call sooner or just wait?

Hi,

It's always best to use a credit card with no currency fee, first you'll save about 3% and secondly in the unfortunate case that you cancel then there's no fee when it's refunded.

As for the time limit on this offer, all I can say is that last year the UK Expedia deal followed a UK Disney deal which ran from 1st January through to 3rd March 2014 and after that date prices increased.

The current UK Disney deal started on 17th December and ends 31st March so with any luck the UK Expedia deal will last until then, but be aware some rooms/dates might sell out before then.

The savings on rack rate for Animal Kingdom rooms over Thanksgiving are some of the best so good luck with your choice and if you do decide to wait then fingers crossed and have a wonderful vacation and cruise.

US Expedia is currently quoting for those ten-nights the following which I believe is Disney's rack rate.

Sun....Nov 22 - $499.00

As you can see, UK Expedia charges the same nightly rate for mid-week, week-end and holidays.

Therefore the nightly saving on rack rate over those ten-days varies between 47% and 57%.

And a similar example at a moderate resort in October over the Columbus holiday, at the moment the preferred room rate on UK Expedia is less than a water view room and therefore has a higher percentage discount.

I booked on Saturday and called Expedia UK Monday evening and was able to receive it. Try calling Disney to see if they can find it, Expedia UK hasn't been that great about answering emails. I had free calling to the UK.

Thanks! I'll try Disney. I tried UK but call wouldn't go thru on my cell.

ETA: Got my reservation number from Disney! Didn't take very long at all.

Thanks for all your help, I was able to book akl club level for a great price! I was even able to use the code above and save $90 more! Never thought I'd be staying club level at a deluxe resort! Can't wait until November!
