Now that Disney wants the money up front for the dining plan. If I book someones trip how should I recieve the payment. When I recieve the payment for the points?

I've been contemplating this also. I have rented previously and will be renting them again to one of my previous renters. I am not too worried about it with her because we have this history. She'll send me a check and then I will add the dining plan and pay for it.

If I need to rent out again in the future and I have to place another ad, I think I will advertise it as 2 contracts--one for the rental and one for the DDP. In thinking about it, this seems to make the most sense because you can have the ressie without the DDP but you cannot have the DDP without a ressie.

Also the contract I offer is non-refundable after 10 business days. But I would not have an issue returning someone's DDP money if they changed their plans about the DDP. And I want to make sure there is no confusion about the non-refundable policy of the point rental agreement.

As an aside--we just returned from WDW and we added the QSDP just days before we went. Member Services asked when I paid for it if I would like that card to be one used for purchases during our stay. In this case, it was ok. So it seems it would be very easy to say no and the renters would have to give theirs at check-in.

Not that I plan to ever rent, but if I did, what I think I would do is find out upfront if adding the dining plan is something the renters were interested in.

I would then set a time limit for it to be added and make it non-refundable. For example, I might say that it would be added to a reservation 2 weeks in advance and payment in full would be do at that time.

Once added, it would stay so that I didn't have to deal with refunding money to the renter. Hard line, I know, but how I would choose to deal with it.
