Disney Dining Plan

I am wondering how it works to book the Disney Dining Plan for a stay at SSR using a DVC reservation?
Any info is appreciated!

If you are the DVC member then you just callmember services and ask that it be added to your reservation. You must buy it for all members of your party for all nights of the reservation. The plan starts at check in and is good until 11PM of your checkout date. Your will have one CS, TS, and snack per person per number of days. You pay for the plan when you check in. If you are not the DVC member you must have the person who made the reservation for you add the plan to your reservation.

All you need to do is call MS and have them add the DDP to your reservation. The same rules apply as for cash stays -- every person staying on your reservation has to get the dining plan, and they must get it for every night you're booked at the resort.

Only did desserts on Thanksgiving Day (x2) and one of the buffets. Managed to lose 4 lbs, DH lost 2. Didn't do the DDP, but kept our receipt to analyze it, if it would make sense on our first trip home.

The only problem I see, is our eldest is 10, hence an adult in Disney eyes. Without the plan we were able to order kid's meals for him.

Just make sure you tell them prior to your arrival. We have used it every time we have gone. We love it. It is a lot of food and we usually end up buying meals for people on our last day. Help spread the magic. We even got it for our 2 year old last time we went. He does not like share meals with his older brother and for $10.99 we would spend that a day for him anywhere else. I think you will enjoy it. If you do decide to get it make sure to make your reservations soon as possible. Hope you have a great time.

At this late date, you will have to ask WDWDINE which restaurants have availability, and go from there. We called in November for Christmas, and had trouble getting ressies for 6 at one table. Be careful of the desserts--I ate everything I was allowed on the plan in October, and gained 15 lbs that I am still trying to lose!! I really loved the DDP, with all that food, but it's one extra thing I have to pay for when I get back home.

If you book the dining plan through CRO, you must buy at least a 1 day MYW pass for each person in your room, even if you own an AP or are buying an AP. DVC does not have that requirement.

exactly one of the reasons it's such a great perc for DVCers & renters

the CS desserts have turned into pre-packaged items, not worth the calories IMO.

Help!! I called member services a few months back and I told them I wanted the DDP. They said that I did not need to pay in advance that I could pay at check-in. Can someone verify this for me?? I am afraid to get there and have them tell me "sorry". TIA!!

That's correct, you pay at check-in. DVC does not have the option to pay in advance.
