Disney Dining Plan- Confused!!

We have the Disney Dining Plan and I am completely confused. We are checking in on APr 3 and out on Apr 8th. I spoke with someone at Disney today and she said that we will have 5 TS , 5 CS and 5 snacks. Even though we have a six day park hopper??
Also, we are taking our 2 1/2 yr old.. and they say she is expected to eat off of our plate or we have to buy her a meal. How does this work at a buffet? I will share some of my stuff with her but she will need to eat it off of her own plate. Does that mean they will charge us?? I am totally confused!! Help!

You get the meals per the nights you stay. You are staying 5 nights = 5 sets of credits.
The credits are good until midnight of the day you check out.

If you order a meal for the 2 year old, you have to pay.
If she shares with you, you don't have to pay.
At buffets, she can eat whatever and not be charged.

at the buffets she can have her own plate, they work out the best IMO for 2 and under
BTW even at CRT for breakfast (which is a plated all you care to eat) they get a meal- it's not the same options as everyone else - but I think they had a choice of 2, dd picked the french toast sticks.. I thought that was really nice.

Right--at the buffets, she can get anything she wants. At "sit down" restaurants, if she eats off your food, there is no charge (yes, they will bring her a plate of her own.) In reality, they will often bring her a little something and not charge you for it--not a whole kid's meal, but like one chicken finger.

Your dining credits are coordinated with the number of nights you stay at your resort. They are in no way linked to your park tickets.

The reasoning of the nights of stay is because check in is not until 3:00 pm or later, and check out is 11am.
As mentioned DDP is never based on the number of days on your tickets. Guests can buy a 1 day or up to a 10 day ticket on their package. (UK guests can go up to 14 days tickets.)
