Happy New Year All

Have not been on the board a while as we will not be going to Florida this year as we are getting married and need to save all cash.

However we are planning now for 09!! Woohooo:cool1: :cool1:

So the thing I want to try to get is the free DDP, had this last year and it was a brilliant thing to have on the holiday. Does anyone no if Disney will do this, if so when is it likely to be announced, am I way to early for looking at this??

Any help would be greatly appreciated, plus the new water park at Sea World should be open by then.... Happy days:thumbsup2

As far as I have seen it tends to be released about August/September, WDW runs to 12 months ahead on its reservations, and I presume they see how the parks fill up in August one year before, the next years pl;ans are made.

Virgin holidays start to release 09 late February, and option would be to book a flydrive and add later.

Thanks for the reply, yeah think we are gonna do a flydrive and book the accomodation and tickets separate, do disney do the free dining directly or do you have to go via a travel agent?? Would think Disney will do it, but not sure.

Thanks

We did the same last year - booked a flydrive as soon as they were released, then booked accommodation and DDP separately (through Disney UK).

Disney released the free DDP around September 2006 for August/September 2007. However, note that you have to book accommodation and tickets together to qualify for the free DDP, and also if (as we did) you arrive in Orlando earlier than the start of your WDW accommodation, the WDW tickets can only start on the same date as your accommodation.

Last year the free DDP was offered from 23/8 for bookings up to 6/11 and for stays between 10/8 and 27/9.

Is this typical? Is there any chance of free DDP in the first fornight of July?

I too am planning on going in 2009, and am starting to investigate this section of the board to help me plan it. (I normally hang out on the photography forum). Prepare for lots of dumb questions!

regards,

Very unlikely you'll see free dining in July, that's one of the busiest times in WDW. It is typically offered in late August/September to fill resort rooms during the slack period after the US school holidays and during hurricane season.

Ah, that makes sense. I hadn't realised the the American school holidays were also July

Thanks
