Its main function is to give 20% selected restaurants, and is for Florida residents. They also have DDE dining events, and it gives several other random benefits like extra-close parking at Epcot, half price admission to PI, etc.
It says it takes a few weeks to arrive, but ours came within a week, I think.
It really is a great thing - makes the restaurants more affordable. And like lillygator said, they let you use it on odd holidays. Not on January 1, but on Valentine's Day. *shrug*
Another nice little perk is if you have breakfast, lunch or dinner at a WDW resort you can valet park for free (don't forget the tip though ) Just show your card to the valet CMs when you arrive.
It's a great deal. It usually pays for itself within the first few days of using it. We saved $50 alone on one dinner for four at the Flying Fish. And don't forget it can also be used at the resort lounges and the counter service at the value resorts and AK, as well as most sit downs. The Downtown Disney options are limited though.
We've had two different experiences for groups: once we were allowed to use one card, and once we had to split up and one of us pay for half, and the other pay for the other half. I think it depends on the server/manager.

Yes, it's only for Florida residents, and it's $75
You have to be a FL resident, it's about $80 to join, with a slightly reduced fee to renew. If you don't have FL ID (DL or state issued ID card) you wo'nt be able to use it.
Is the list of places you get discounts with DDE substantially larger than the list of places you get discounts with your regular annual pass? It seems like $325 is the breakeven amount to spend such that you pay for the card (375 x .2 = 75). But if I already get 10% off with AP, seems like I need to spend 750 before I breakeven.
Anyone had it and loved it? Anyone had it and decided it wasn't worth it? Thanks.
I adore it. We've definitely gotten our money back and then some. It's better than the AP discount because you can use it any time, and at most sit down locations, while the AP discount you can really only use at Epcot, at lunch, Monday through Friday. If you look back up through this thread you posted in, you'll see a bunch of testimonials and a link to information.
We've gotten it two years in a row, and plan to renew as long as we go to Disney. As FL residents and DVC members, we usually go to WDW 2 or 3 times a year. The card pays for itself over and over for our family. We eat at least one sit down meal a day, and DDE discounts include every sit down restaurant in the World and the counter service places in AK.
Not sure if you mean she's going on vacation with you, or she bought it for you to use on vacation. If it's the latter, you'll have a problem. A FL Drivers license or DMV issued ID card matchin the name on the card must be presented with teh card when obtainin the discounts.
