Disney Dining Experience Card now available for AP Passholders

Hi All,

I have the DDE card and it is outstanding! I wish it was available YEARS ago. As stated earlier, the discount applies to beverages. This is an excellent benfit for those that enjoy wine or cocktails. I don't know of another card onproperty that makes that offer. The discount applies to sit down/served meals for the most part by Disney owned Foob and Beverage facilities. A nice dinner at the California Grill for a party of five may justify the price of the card.

Cheers!

Is this for sure for anyone that has an AP pass. I called Disney today for several questions (not the number given here) and was told it was for Florida residence only.

When you call the 407 566 5858 number, you will get a menu of options. #3 is the option to purchase the pass - but it will go on to say it is for FL residents. Select that number and when the "counselor" comes on the line, tell them you are an AP holder and they will walk you thru the transaction. I was on hold for 24 minutes, but the result was worth it!

Enjoy!

I have a quick question. If I purchased the card now, (currently an AP holder) and use it for my upcoming trip, and then my AP expires in May, and I choose not to renew, can I still use the card through to 1/2006 or will it expire if i do not renew my pass?

I hope that wasn't too confusing :confused3

I think I read somewhere that the free parking is only good for the evening - after 4 or 5 pm (I can't remember the exact time). So you couldn't park for free all day, but you could if you just go to the park in the evening.

I think you get free parking with an AP anyway, so don't worry about the DDE free parking after a certain time.

My understanding is that the DDE pass is good for 1 year from the date of issue, but that to use it you must show a valid annual pass.

Good for beverages means my husband will never venture more than a yard or two away from his beloved Rose and Crown! We ordered on Tuesday and can't wait to take advantage of the savings in March!!

Snow day in New England has meant lots of folks calling this AM. I called at 9:15 and was on hold for 75 mins; the nice fellow on the other end took care of the transaction in about 3 mins, so we are all set for when we arrive at VWL in 9 days time (a whopping 2 night stay). So I think Artist Pont will be my first victim; yum! We'll definately more than break even in April when we are down for 9 nights/ 10 days, with 7 ppl.

I am also looking forward to the special Food & Wine fest events for DDE holders. Anyone know what has been offered in previous years?

how will it work if you only have an AP voucher and have not activated your AP yet?? Will they still let you purchase it in advance.

Thanks,

Pam

Yes, you may purchase with only a voucher. Same proceedure.

I am so excited about this! :cool1: :cool1:

I am far, far away from my computer but have been checking every couple of days since 1/2 in hopes that MYW would include magic the way my family does WDW. It does!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Thank you to the powers that be at WDW!

So if you are planning on spending over $250 on meals at participating restaurants, this would be a good deal? Sorry if that was a dumb question, I'm just not familiar with the DDE.

Yes, let's say you spend 5 days at WDW, and spend $100 per day at participating restaurants for a total of $500. You would have spent $50 on the card, and received a total discount of $100, for a net savings of $50.

Remember that the Discount applies to everyone in your party, up to 10 people, as long as they are on the same check.

Sounds like a great deal. Now I've got to figure out if I can score one in a week, we are off next Saturday :jumping4: Thanks

People have posted that they called and ordered the card and were sent a fax or e-mail that they could use immediately.

Yep, we're flying out on Sunday (eeek :earseek: just look at that counter), and bought the DDE yesterday. I got an email document showing that I am a DDE member and am entitled to the discounts, just to use this trip. Then by the time we have 7 of us travelling and eating in restaurants in April, we'll have the official cards to play with. I think this is just great! I can't wait to see what kind of special stuff they have for us during Food & Wine (got our BW view ressie all set up).

I haven't read this whole subject, but ... I called the DDE number yesterday, was on hold for about 20 minutes, bought a DDE card over the phone & received my email this afternoon. I haven't bought the annual pass yet!

Woo Hoo! :cheer2:

The perks just keep coming!

I hope this doesn't encourage us to eat MORE sit down big meals and come back 10 pounds heavier

Did you pay $50 or $75?

Do you need to quote an AP number to order the DDE? I was planning on getting the AP's once there, but I could order them online to be picked up. Would this work?
