Disney Dining,DIS Meets, and WAIT-Why is that lady holding..... FINAL THOUGHTS 11/27

Okay, so now I'm all caught up. Great souvenir pics. I unpacked all of our's yesterday but didn't put them up 'cause I needed to take pictures of them first. I bought one of the WDW shirts our last day too. I had to get gray because they didn't have a small in any other color. I soooo wanted a green one so I could represent the Disboards.

I remember when Hunter used to buy the Disney cars too. We saw a Kermit one and a Star Wars one at Mickey Mart and they were only $2.00. I almost bought them for my nephew for Christmas.

I was about to get that WDW shirt last trip! I wanted the purple one, but they only had adult L and XL sizes so my mom said she'd order it online for me this summer.

My DD's ended up with the WDW tshirt in those same colors! The little got the pink in a kids size but the kids sizes seemed hard to find a larger variety of colors in. The big one needed an adult large which we couldn't find in her first choice of orange so she ended up with the green instead. She just wore it to school today. :goodvibes

Now I am thinking I should have bought one of these shirts too. Instead, I bought myself a navy shirt with the castle on the front and says WDW for 2x the price.

Those shirts are adorable, and the mug is so cute! I LOVE that ToT pin! I love how the doors open and close! I don't really do the pin thing, but I want one of those! :)

Yippie!! I never get in on these things at the beginning :)

Another teacher here :teacher: Happy Summer to YOU!! I teach first grade, but I  math and every year my kids name that as their favorite subject. I guess I teach it the most enthusiastically since it's my favorite :rotfl::rotfl:

I love the mug! Can I ask where you found it and if you know how many ounces it holds? Being a teacher and getting up at the crack of dawn every day, coffee is my saving grace and it's wonderful to have a little Disney reminder with it :) Therefore, I'm always looking for great Disney mugs. Thanks for sharing, and I can't wait to read more!

Oh, I like the idea of doing the souvenir post at the beginning of the trip report. Remind me to do that in July!

Love the retro Walt Disney World on the shirts!!! The coffee mug is great -- I will have to keep an eye out for it next month.

By the way, while we are enjoying our summer vacation -- I know you got done about the same time that we did -- when is your first day back to work? Ours is July 30!

I like the climate in NC! Plus you could drive to Disney from there. Amy has been saying that she wants to move to NC when she moves out since she was 7.

We love NC Barbara! We are driving to Disney--from Michigan! NC would be a breeze!! :lmao: We have driven to NC three times too.

Well, you have a year to prepare for the change, if it happens. I completely understand the part about being torn and scared---My husband and I have moved four times during our 20 years of marriage. Each time comes with some reservations, and I think that's normal. :)

Now Barbara points out a great pro of moving to NC---close enough to drive down to Disney! :thumbsup2 I love it!

It is scary but I think it will be good for us. It is a big decision for our family to make though, because it is not just DH and I now. Definitely a shorter drive for us!! :goodvibes

**************
:woohoo: for souvies--I love seeing what all people get. you all think alike--picking out the same shirt design. :goodvibes I love my Tinker Bell mug I have--it just makes me happy. I will pick up a Christmas ornament too as we get a new one for each year. TFS!!!

I have looked at those retro shirts several times. I feel that one will probably come home with me in a few weeks. That's how I justify so many trips to John "It costs less because I don't buy as many souvenirs when I go 4 times a year compared to the times I just went once a year." Sounds like a pretty good argument!

Love all the goodies you bought!

I bought too much last October. We are from England so I was frightened about them all being broken as the majority were in our cases on our flight back home. (I even had one of the Stitch cookie jars in my case!)

Luckily Disney had packed them so well, we were fine!

Hi Michelle!
I was away for a long weekend and now I am trying to get all caught up!
I love that you put your souvies up first!:thumbsup2 I really like that retro shirt and it seems to be quite popular too!

I love those Disney racers too! I tried to get Ben to get one but he said he was too old...pfft!!

As for school, I am still in. We still have all of this week and next.:sad2: But, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel so I'm trying to stay focused on that!! Plus, it's only 15 days until I go to Disney again!:yay:

michelle! I'm sooo sorry! I seriously thought I posted here and subbied but I guess not :sad2: I'm sorry!Well, I'm here now!!

Those pics of the flowers are just gorgeous! And love the pics of the souvenirs you got! I love that ToT pin! So cute with Stitch inside! Can't wait for more!

Love your coffee mug Michelle! They have so many cute ones, it's a shame I don't drink coffee, so I have to reason to buy them

Hot chocolate, maybe? ;)

Ooooh....I like those shirts (and purple is my favorite color); may have to look for that one for me (doubt they'll hae DH's size).

I'm with you--some years we buy so much and then the next visit we hardly get anything.

They had lots of those shirts all over the place, and it seemed as if they run big, so a size you might not consider, may work. :thumbsup2 At only $12.99, they were probably the most reasonably priced t-shirt around.

Those race cars are really cool; my son would have loved them when he was younger.

I think the cars are cute, too. I'm not really sure if Reid chooses them, or my husband "guides" him toward them!

joining in :cool1:
pretty flowers:)
love the magnets:)

Thanks and :welcome: to my trip report!

Yay for souvenirs! Those shirts are so popular. It's funny because when my parents and sister went in Jan. they had such a hard time finding them. Then when we were there in April we saw them everywhere. haha

Love the mug too!

Thanks, Sarah! :) Those shirts were plentiful, weren't they? I think the only problem we ran into was finding the color/size combination someone wanted.

The rest of the people on my tour just looked at me weird until I explained to them that was my Dis Friend - Andie! :lmao:

:rotfl: I'll bet those people who had never heard of the DIS then looked at you like you really were crazy!

Love the mug. Wake up in the a.m. and just look at it and make your day just so much better!!!
You're exactly right, Amanda! :)

Great souvies. The girls and I match Elizabeth! Thought it was so cute that I got a FB frind request from Rachel. I so wish we lived closer-she would be such a great role model for my girls!! Elizabeth too.

How funny! So y'all must be wearing the pink! Hey, that fits with your 60 day walk! Did you plan that?

That Rachel! ;) Both my girls are all about FB---I just got one this past weekend, and I thought it would kill them, but they've been pretty cool with it. :rotfl:

Thanks, Mary! That's a really nice thing to say. It makes me pretty proud to be their mama and reassures me that all the things Kevin and I have taught (and are still teaching) them is not in vain! :goodvibes

Hey! Glad to see that you made it home safe and sound. Now I need to go back and read all the details. Be back in a bit to post again.

I'm glad that you made it home safe, too! Can't wait to hear all about your trip with Mama! :)

I bought one of the WDW shirts our last day too. I had to get gray because they didn't have a small in any other color. I soooo wanted a green one so I could represent the Disboards.

Rachel wanted the gray/Small , but she couldn't find it. Where did you get yours? The only gray she every found were L, XL, and she is a tiny girl.

This guy in her grade at school, has the gray, and we've laughed because he wears it like 2-3 times a week. He told Rachel that it's soft and feels good. So, she wanted the same color, so (in her words), "I can match Brooks!"

I was about to get that WDW shirt last trip! I wanted the purple one, but they only had adult L and XL sizes so my mom said she'd order it online for me this summer.

The shirts were everywhere, but like I mentioned earlier, it was a problem matching the color/size combination you wanted.

Maybe you can find it during your upcoming trip! :thumbsup2

Now that you mention it, I don't remember seeing those shirts in the kids' sizes very much. I'm sure your older daughter was the best dressed kid at school! ;)

I know the castle shirt you're talking about----Very Pretty! :)

Those shirts are adorable, and the mug is so cute! I LOVE that ToT pin! I love how the doors open and close! I don't really do the pin thing, but I want one of those! :)

Thanks! :)

:wave2: and :welcome: to my trip report!

Happy Summer Vacation to you, too! I guess in SC, y'all are out of school for the summer, aren't you?

YAY for teaching math! AND, Yay for celebrating your anniversary at Disney very soon! I noticed your dates/resorts in your sig line. Were you a Disney Bride, or did you disneymoon there?

I bought the mug at World of Disney , DTD, but I think I saw it in the gift shop at our resort (Beach Club). It came in red or blue . The writing inside starts at the top and goes about 1 1/2 " down. Being the math nerd that I am, I actually just measured and checked the capacity of the cup. Filled to the top, it holds 14 oz., and just filled to the edge of the writing, it holds 10oz. Hope that helps!

Thanks, Jackie! Another TR I was reading did that, and I thought that's a great way to stall until the PP cd gets here! ;)

July 30? That's horrible---is that inservice for teachers or do you mean the kids have to report for classes that day?

Being a private school, we don't have the inservice days that some public school systems have. We generally have a half day of inservice (SACS meetings, etc.) and then the kids will come the next day. This year, the first day with students, will be August 9.

It is scary but I think it will be good for us. It is a big decision for our family to make though, because it is not just DH and I now. Definitely a shorter drive for us!! :goodvibes

You're right, it is a big decision. I know y'all will make the best choice for your family! :thumbsup2

The mugs are great---The older I get, the more I like to get souvies that I will use everyday, so I get that little daily reminder of Disney! :goodvibes

I have looked at those retro shirts several times. I feel that one will probably come home with me in a few weeks. They're $12. 99----less than Brooklynn's fan/mister!

I like that argument, Jill. :) I wonder if I could use that over here in my house. :rolleyes1.............................

How interesting starting off with the souvenirs!! Yall bought so much less than we did!

We really didn't buy much.....Like I said, having gone four times in a year, there wasn't really a whole lot that just screamed out to us. Now, last May, we did buy a lot, so I guess we just shop in cycles! ;)

Love all the goodies you bought!

I bought too much last October. We are from England so I was frightened about them all being broken as the majority were in our cases on our flight back home. (I even had one of the Stitch cookie jars in my case!)

Luckily Disney had packed them so well, we were fine!

I would be worried about things getting broken, too! Good thing Disney does such a good job wrapping everything up. :thumbsup2

I love those Disney racers too! I tried to get Ben to get one but he said he was too old...pfft!!

Hi Stacy---Hope you had a good weekend!

Tell Ben he's not to old for those-----My big boy Kevin is over 40, and I think he's the one that really likes them.

:yay: You're almost finished and then you'll be back at Disney!

Thanks! :) Glad you're here, Keala!

That Rachel! ;) Both my girls are all about FB---I just got one this past weekend, and I thought it would kill them, but they've been pretty cool with it. :rotfl:

Say it isn't so Michelle! You were supposed to be my rock - helping me remain a FB resister and you went and joined the dark side!!! :sad2:
