Our 3rd day dinner took us back to one of our favorites, Narcoosee's. We had been there on our past 2 trips, and we could not wait to go back. We arrived a few minutes early for our 7:10 PS and were disappointed when, after asking for our favorite server, Debbie, we were told that the wait would be close to an hour. We decided to be taken care of by Natalie, and she more than held her own. Debbie was very close by, but to no avail. Please keep in mind that we were on the Silver Plan.
The family cast as follows: (Me - Trip planner. NO CHEESE PLEASE)
DW - Easy going and also easy to please.
DS (19) - Will try anything; prefers seafood. Won't gain an ounce.
DD's (13) - A - Family soup expert. Will take a try at anything. Her twin sister T is our resident carnivore. Meat, heat & eat. PICKY
We have always felt that the strengths of this establishment were the appy's/desserts. We were very pleased with our choices. Lobster & crab cakes (love the fruit salsa), rock shrimp (2X) with pineapple/pepper slaw (yum) and zesty shrimp for me were all 1st class. The resident soup queen raved about the butternut squash/blue crab soup and DS also loved his chowder. 3 lemonades for the kids; I had an iced tea and DW had an outstanding glass of Merlot. (Can't recall the particulars).
Entree's were a bit of a bummer. 3 Surf & Turf dinners ordered medium were closer to well done and at times were tough to finish. Carnivore DD(B) requested Filet medium and it was done to perfection. BTW, our tails were a bit underdone. (At least the vanilla sauce from last year was done away with; too sweet). DS had a Chilean sea bass special, and it was very, very, good.
Desserts included almond cheesecake, ice cream, strawberry tart, and my fav of all, the Berry Pyramid. Two double scoops of sorbet (mango and berry), garnished w/fresh fruit slices/pieces along with the central jello pyramid of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. Dessert NIRVANA for a person who usually passes on it. Bill (for display purposes only since we were on the Silver Plan) was $365.00 or so. While we were a bit miffed due to the condition of the surf/turf platters, we were quite pleased when we were charged only 5 wishes instead of the usual double (10) for this restaurant. We may pass on this one next year and opt for another 2 wish dinner as a change of pace.
