Disney dining and kids menus

I am not clear about how it works to order 4 adult meals when your plan says 2 adults/ 2 children.

Won't it just come off your card that you used 4 of your adult meals? Even if both adults stand in line for 2 different transactions?

Can anyone confirm if pooling is still possible in 2008??????????:rolleyes1

I was wondering this too. On my card-KTTW from last year it says A3/C3. So wouldn't they just see that I am supposed to be only using 3 Adult credits if I try getting more than 3?

One thing that I did not realize until half way through our trip is that ALL counter service credits are pooled. That means your 7 year old can order any counter service meal he/she wants - it does not have to be from the kids menu. Now this is for counter service only. At the restaurants they must order from the kids menu and the credits are separated into adult and child.

I just wanted to comment that on our trip in December this was not always true. At Pinnoccio (sp?) Village Haus in MK the CM saw that we had 2 children and 2 adults and informed me that I had to order 2 child meals and 2 adult meals. Didn't matter that my kids wanted pizza and there was no pizza on the kids' menu! I ended up trading my pizza to my son and eating the kids' turkey and cheese pinwheel meal (which was really small! ). Anyway, most other CS meals were no problem and we could order what we wanted. I probably should not be endorsing breaking the DDP "rules", but we did run into situations (like no kids' pizza meal at the Pizzafari restaurant - how can they do that when "Pizza" is in the name? :confused3 ) where we felt it was necessary. I guess for that reason it might be easier to go without the DDP.

I was able to order an adult cs for my son, no questions asked at Columbia Harbor House. I didn't see anything on the kids menu that he would eat so I ordered the fish and chips. He loved it and ate it all. The CS were pooled. Out of his 5 cs meals, two were adult because of the menu lacking a good choice. I know people will say it's not right to use the adult cs for a child but the fact is my son ate what he was given. He would not have eaten the nasty mac and cheese and he's allergic to peanuts so no PBJ crust thing.

This is a huge problem with some of th CS places around the parks. We went to the taco place across from POTC to eat this summer. Guess what the children's meal is? Yes Quesadilla which is great for the grilled cheese crowd but not the Milk Allergic crowd. I was told that I had to order an adults meal for her. Since I was OoP that was upsetting.

They could not have offered a plain taco choice instead for milk allergic kids? I am glad they deal with it for the DDP because they should eat the cost some of the time. I got DD the adult meal which she hardly ate because there was too much food for a 9 year old.

I re-read the rules recently - it does say that if a child menu is available, you are limited to the child menu. BUT - the computer doesn't know the difference. The only way they know is if you order them all at the same time. And how are they to know that you didn't order extra kid meals at another time???

Of course, I didn't realize until near the end of our trip that they didn't track them separately, so I did end up ordering the kid spaghetti and meatballs for myself at Pizzafari, so my kids could have pizza, because I was worried about using up my adult CS credits. (I think I sent dh to order his own meal separately, so while we ordered 3 adult meals at one meal, it was a separate order. I wasn't trying to be sneaky - I just didn't know what he wanted to eat!)
