So what's up with the Disney Collector doll series, via Disneystore.com. I believe they are released on Monday but it is so hard to get one.
Take care.

I think it depends on your store and how many of that doll they receive, our disney store was begging people to buy the cinderella doll a few weeks ago. My dd is dying for Rapunzel, so I'm still waiting patiently

They are pretty but I just couldn't spend 59.99 on one :( I had a couple of them in my online cart (Cinderella and Ariel) and I just couldn't hit the submit order button. I went back a week later online and saw they'd sold out of the Ariel but still had Cinderella and added Belle. They are gorgeous...but seriously we've done collecting before with different things and my girls don't value collectibles as much as some might.

I was at the Disney store the other day and they said they are not told which doll will be released and they have people in line 3 hours before the store opens to buy them!!!

In 3 years you will probably be able to snag them on ebay for less than $20, just like the barbies which used to sell for over $100 that people also lined up for. If you absolutely love it, buy it and enjoy them. Don't just squirrel them away for some day.

Mulan came out today....already sold out online. She's pretty but I scrolled down to read more about her and she's plastic!!! I figured the dolls would be porcelain or something.

Honestly, I don't like them. The "designer" look seems so out of character for the princesses and their time periods. I got the E-mail with Mulan today, and all I could think was that Mulan would be absolutely miserable if someone dressed her up like that and made her wear those fake lashes. :rotfl2: From what I've seen on Ebay, people are buying them and then trying to double their money, or in some cases even more than that. There are a ton of them on Ebay.

It is crazy how fast they sell out online. According to my inbox, the email arrived at 6:37 am CDT and when I opened it at 7:46 am CDT they were already sold out of Mulan today. An hour!

They are beautiful.. and as someone who collected barbies when I was younger.. and have my mothers collection of disney figurines.. I just can't do it. LOL. I hate knick knacks. I hate them with a passion. So they won't be coming here :)

It's nuts. People are buying two online, then two more at the store and selling them on eBay for $200-250. My daughter wanted Ariel, but told me after she sold out. I wish I just bought her because now they are going in hours, not days. She has decided on Rapunzel now, so I guess I'll try for her, but doubt I'll have luck.

Between this and the Target Missoni line, I'm wondering if the economy is really as bad as they say, or if the economy is driving these ebayers to desperate measures. Greed really bothers me. I just want one for my kid!

I think the economy is as bad as they say, actually worse for some than others. I also think there are some people who think these dolls will be the next Holiday Barbie or Beanie Babies fad and stock up as many as they can on their credit card to then try and re-sell for a nice profit. But it just doesn't work that way right now. Supply = demand, sure, but if the only way people can get the product is to meet the demand of higher prices from stockpilers, than supply will either vanish or jump in price even more. And how about those people that buy the max that they can, be it these dolls or the $99 HP Touchpads and then turn around and jack prices up for Ebay or Craig's List?! I refuse to buy from those people. Absolutely refuse too. There should not be such a supply=demand issue, but there is because of just that type of "buy-it-all-now-because-I-have-room-on-my-card-and-then-sell-off-what-I-don't-want/need" philosophy (in other words, "Me, me, me"). And I won't even go into the people who do that and then bail out on paying their credit card for it! :sad2: That is damaging our economy even more. :headache: Uggh, I could go on and on, but I won't....Climbing off soapbox now, sorry.... :flower3:

I have had a doll collection since I was born practically. I wanted to add these to it, but after not being able to get one online and then going into the store to actually see them, I am glad I am not. I HATE those eyelashes. That just looks ridiculous. I agree with PP, Mulan would hate that get-up! DD11 said if I get these, they can go to other DD when I die. lol  I guess she didn't like them either. :upsidedow
