Christopher used to get really bad diaper rashes whenever he had oranges, tomato based products, or took antibiotics. Our pediatrician recommended this powder stuff called Domeboro (I think that's how it's spelled). You mix it with water and soak a rag or gauze in it, then you put it in the diaper for about 15-20 minutes. It worked wonders for him. Our pharmacy kept it behind the counter.

Great stuff! My Dad used to use it for poison ivy!!!

Since Amy spent all afternoon chatting things up here, I thought it was my turn tonight to share pictures of the happier moments of our many Christmas celebrations ... plus a few of the preparations that got finished in time for the holiday.

Let's start with the cookies (since Amy tells me so many have had a hard time with her recipe she wanted me to show that it really does work and they really do taste good) ...

The second tree finally got finished but Alyssa had different decorating ideas than we did:

Yep, that's two WWTBAM-PI 1000 point hats. I've been in the hot seat twice, once flopping out at 16K and the second time flopping out at 120K (I think?). See how proud she is of her handiwork:

DH and I are both catholic - so there was never any discussion - but had I married someone who wasn't - I would have absolutely had that discussion first!!!!

The weekend before Christmas we spent celebrating with Amy's parents. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the weekend festivities:

Wow, no diaper rash! That's awesome. We used to use vaseline, but once Alyssa started eating solids, it didn't seem to protect her enough, so we switched to Balmex.

Ben had TERRIBLE diaper rash! Not to gross anyone out, but his little bum would be SO red and he would have sores that would open! We had an old blanket we would lay out with a shower curtain under it. The air helped some but the best thing I ever used was a product called Triple Paste (hope that works). I got the sample from my pediatrician.

I can't even begin to tell you how well it worked! Once it cleared up the rash, we used a thin layer with every change and we barely had another break out! When I saw one start, we would just slather it on a bit more -- and away it went!!!!

We still have some left ... it has worked nicely on heat rash too. :)

Oh -- and they did NOT have it on the shelf at my pharmacy. I had to ask the pharmacist for it, but a prescription was not required.

Those visions of sugarplums must have really been dancing. Yes, this is Christmas morning that started at our house (ahhh, the first time in six years that we didn't start Christmas morning with a four hour drive).

Let's do it again in less than 365 days (but without the diaper rash).

As always Alyssa looks super cute. Hopefully the diaper rash will go away quickly.

I have several recipes for delicious fondue. None of them are traditionally Swiss, however. This is what our family used to do on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We would do hot oil fondue, a yummy cheese fondue, and several dessert fondues. If you're interested I could PM you the recipes. I also have a yummy pizza fondue recipe that my kids love. Just let me know!

Fondues? YUM! Hit me!

What beautiful pictures. You look so pulled together for Christmas morning. I will not scare any of you with our pictures. We didn't shower before presents so hair makeup and wardrobe was pretty scary. I don't know how some of you do it.
