I work for a travel agency on the side as a Disney Specialist. Just found out that my agency has permission to use copyrighted Disney images for their brochures, web site, etc. I'm going to be SOOOO tempted to appropriate these for personal use, but I'm sure Disney watches that stuff like a hawk. I tried accessing the copyrighted material myself and was met with a grand inquisition about who I was and how I'd be using the images. Guess DDA shirts and DIS Board signatures are probably not considered allowable use.

I'm embarrassed to admit I've never gone to Lloyds! I've only lived here -- and worked across the street from it -- for 7 years. DH loves both Wings and Milo's; I'm more of an O'Charley's kind of gal. I'm glad you have some good food to look forward to, at least. I hope you have a nice visit with your BIL -- I'm sure there's no hope for your MIL, unfortunately.

Here is my friend Jonette in a design Kevin customized for her. Since she has red hair, I asked him to give Cinderella red hair too! Jonette and Leif (that's him with her in the photo at Whispering Canyon restaurant at the Wilderness Lodge) are getting married in Epcot in 2006. Now that I have introduced her to custom t-shirt making, she is brimming with ideas for designs to make for her flower girls and ring bearer for the wedding. Some of the designers might hear from her with requests, or she might post her own new designs. She's usually on the wedding board. Rosiejo will know her as a fellow DFTW bride.

Since Amy spent all afternoon chatting things up here, I thought it was my turn tonight to share pictures of the happier moments of our many Christmas celebrations ... plus a few of the preparations that got finished in time for the holiday.

Let's start with the cookies (since Amy tells me so many have had a hard time with her recipe she wanted me to show that it really does work and they really do taste good) ...

Denise -- I noticed this in the photos from your trip report, but it's really evident in the photo of BK looking over her shoulder. She is going to be a heart-breaker when she gets to high school! Your DH will have to beat the boys off with a stick!!

My mom and I haven't talked to her mom in 13 years. The last time my mom and she spoke, my parents were in the middle of a divorce and my mom needed all the support - not bashing - she could get. My grandmother was being mean about something and arguing with my mom, and then said, "I'm hanging up on you now.... call me back." But my mom never has. She'd had enough! I won't even go into all the awful things she said to my mother and I throughout our lives. Get this, when I was 13 (and fully developed physically but not mentally and still coming to grips with my new body), she said to me, "so, you're on the pill, right?" Of course as a young girl I translated that to mean that something must be terribly wrong with me since I wasn't dating yet, had no interest in having sex with anyone yet, etc. Who in their right mind reinforces negative self image in their granddaughter?!?

Having said that, your MIL takes the cake on witchiness!!

yep - we got married on New Year's Eve - the ceremony was at 6:30 and then we partied til 1:00 am - we thought about a midnight ceremony but we wanted our guests and my DH to be sober!!!!

Kate -- Since I was a little girl, I've dreamed of getting married on NYE!! Please share the layout of your day/ceremony/reception. I was thinking of a ceremony later in the evening, say at 10 or 10:30 pm so that we would just be getting the party going at midnight. But then maybe that is asking people to stay up too late since I'd want to have a dinner and lots of dancing after that. I'm a night owl, so staying up late isn't a big deal to me, but it could be for others.

Granted, the whole NYE wedding doesn't work if DBF and I have a DCL wedding, but since it 1) isn't booked, 2) is only a discussion at this point, and 3) we aren't even engaged yet, I can still fantasize about my original wedding dream!

TIVO! I want TIVO! So close to convincing DH this is what we want for our "us" gift!!!!


OK .... can someone answer this question ....
What is the difference between a Tivo and a DVR?


Is a Tico a DVR but not only DVR's are Tivo? Would it be a mistake to buy a DVR instead of Tivo???


Any advice here????

We actually have a DVR, but I referred to it as TIVO, because I generalize all the time (I also call all tissue Kleenex).

Honestly, I don't know the difference. Maybe Kate can chime in, because I think she actually has TIVO and if she describes some of her features, I might be able to recognize any differences.

Our DVR is awesome though. We can record two shows at once and it stores quite a few hours. I love fast-forwarding through commercials. We also have our system record a lot of Alyssa's shows...we always have two episodes of JoJo on hand (it's set up to constantly rerecord two shows, erasing the older ones, so we always have fresh episodes). You can also program it to record first run shows only, no reruns.

The only drawback is the DVR is not smart enough to figure out that football games tend to run over, causing 60 Minutes to run over, causing Cold Case to run over! So, I've missed quite a few endings of Cold Case this year, but usually I try to remember to record the hour after Cold Case, so I can catch the ending.

Same here. I will not do the Castle again (even if there wasn't a price increase). The service was TERRIBLE!!!! The food was nothing special and is was merely warm when it came out. By the time we got to eat after the princesses zipped around us - it was basically cold. I was NOT impressed.

On the other hand, we had breakfast at "Ohanas and I cannot say enough good things about it!

We did lunch there and I thought the food was very good. But like you, with the price increase, I don't feel that it will be worth it.

Kevin - I love your Chirstmas pictures - Amy has way more patience than me in the baking cookies department - they look so professional!!!!! Alyssa looks adorable - why am I not surprised you had matching jammies?!?! BTW - when is Amy's ultrasound - I want to know if you are having a boy or girl!!!!
