My mom has a 13 foot tree - it is beautiful!!!! and filled to the brim with ornaments!!

Cool! I would have to cut a hole in the ceiling and have it halfway into the rooms upstairs!!! LOL

Those visions of sugarplums must have really been dancing. Yes, this is Christmas morning that started at our house (ahhh, the first time in six years that we didn't start Christmas morning with a four hour drive).

(The picture is Christmas morning in our matching Disney PJs. I have modified it to be our thank you cards this year.)

The afternoon we spent at my Mom's. Here are a few of my favorites before the diaper rash meltdown.

Let's do it again in less than 365 days (but without the diaper rash).

Awww Kevin,

The pictures are so cute. Love the matching pjs!! She is truly a vision. You are blessed...

Kevin and Amy,

The pictures are great! Love the cookies and Alyssa is beautiful as usual. You are going to have so much fun with a new baby!

Kevin - I love your Chirstmas pictures - Amy has way more patience than me in the baking cookies department - they look so professional!!!!! Alyssa looks adorable - why am I not surprised you had matching jammies?!?! BTW - when is Amy's ultrasound - I want to know if you are having a boy or girl!!!!

Lisa - yep - we got married on New Year's Eve - the ceremony was at 6:30 and then we partied til 1:00 am - we thought about a midnight ceremony but we wanted our guests and my DH to be sober!!!! :rotfl:

Denise - I know you can do it - you are a pretty wonderful woman to even consider going - if she starts giving you lip - tell her Kate said to ZIP IT!!

Well, DH and I are off to bed. The van is packed. We are so stressed to say the least. Please send calm, keep your mouth shut Denise, and be polite vibes my way for tomorrow. my goal is to just smile and get through the day.

Good luck. I know too well about biting the tongue to avoid confrontation in front of the kids.

I survived the MIL tonight. I spent the afternoon reorganizing the house. That is not a small feat with all the Christmas mess. I was in a very bad mood when dh got home. He invited her over and instead of cleaning last night he chose to play video games with the boys. If I invite someone over I always do at least 90% of the cleaning. He did none. So he walks through the door and I explode. Instead of pitching in he actually walked into the living room and sat on the couch. What the h*ll?! I totally exploded and exited to my room for a cry. Unfortunately I was followed by ds3 so I had to pull myself together. I threatened to leave, but dh decided he'd do a little cleaning and promised that she wouldn't come in anyway. He insisted that she was only coming over because she needed an oil change and wouldn't come in to see me or the kids. Could I be that lucky? Did I mention he promised? So about 20 minutes after he went out to change her oil they come in. The 3 boys and I had started playing Harry Potter Scene It and had to stop to be polite. She stayed for about an hour and there were lots of uncomfortable silence. I had so much I would have liked to say, but I bit my tongue.

During the boys birthday party my Aunt was talking with dh and mil. She asked dh what time we would be having Thanksgiving with dmil. He relplied that he hadn't been asked. She had already mentioned that she needed to leave as she had so much to do to get dinner ready for dh's sister and her family. She had the perfect opportunity to save face and invite us, but she completely ignored the question/hint and changed the subject. DH was very hurt. He speaks badly about her, but when it comes down to sticking up to her he has no backbone. Fast Forward to her Christmas gifts. We do not get together for Christmas as she "likes to have quiet time with her bf". She did ok with my presents, fuzzy socks a necklace, bracelet and ear rings from Kohls. The kids were given dollar store items and cheap dvd's. The unusable items were all for dh. He lost 45 lbs 2 yrs ago and is a size large. He was an xl at his heaviest. For christmas she gave him white T-shirts, a faux suede shirt and a lined flannel shirt in size 2 xl. He was upset, but even when she asked if everything fit he did not say a word. Now I get to try to exchange these items that he will not ever wear.

I could go on forever. Now that she is gone my bloodpressure has gone back down and I am not losing it. She just eats me up inside. If I could only tell her how we really feel I would feel so much better.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Deb

The pictures are great! I love the last one of Rees with his thumbs hooked in his pockets. And Rees and BK's missing teeth are really cute! Davis is super cute. They're all so adorable!

I'm sorry she makes things so difficult for you, and really sorry she's not more involved with your kids. Most men don't have a backbone when it comes to their mothers, no matter how awful the mothers are. :grouphug: to you.

What beautiful pictures. You look so pulled together for Christmas morning.

LOL! I can't tell you how thrilled I am that Kevin decided to print 24 thank you notes in which I am wearing no make-up and glasses and then he decided to post the picture for all of you too! :rotfl:

Kevin actually helps me make them look so good...he's the best sugar sprinkler in the whole world!

Hey, the jammies were 50% off! We even bought some for the new baby to wear next Christmas! :teeth:

I didn't get an ultrasound with Alyssa until about 22 weeks, and I'm only 12 weeks now, so you'll have to be patient. :goodvibes

Thanks for all the picture compliments...you all are so sweet! I didn't realize Kevin was posting pics. I was glued to the TIVO all night, trying to get caught up on my shows before January.

Amy :)

To Denise and Deb and anyone else who may have evil, awful MILs, here's some :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Going to bed now...see you all tomorrow!

I LOVE your kids new pictures!! I need to take my kids for new pictures!

I was planning on taking Ben for pics this week, but DH took him out for a haircut on Christmas Eve morning. They gave him a freaking crew cut! He looks like his about to enter boot camp! My poor baby!

I was SO upset! My Mom tried to console me and ask WHAT I could do about it?!?! I said if could, I would paste each one back on individually!!!

Guess I will have to wait another month now ........

TIVO! I want TIVO! So close to convincing DH this is what we want for our "us" gift!!!!

OK .... can someone answer this question ....
What is the difference between a Tivo and a DVR?

Is a Tico a DVR but not only DVR's are Tivo? Would it be a mistake to buy a DVR instead of Tivo???

Any advice here????
