Phew! Recitals are all over, finally. Now I have to pack!

I missed telling Tammi goodbye, but we are planning to meet up at MVMCP on the 20th so I will tell her then :)

I will likely not be back on here before we leave tomorrow morning. Many thanks to MidNite, Lady Lucca, Kate and Denise for their awesome designs, and everyone else for laughter. I will miss "talking" to you all over the next 10 days or so. See you on the 27th!

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all, and to all a goodnight!
Sorry I missed wishing you a great trip!

Matt now holds white, yellow and orange in jui jitsu as well as white, yellow, orange and now green in ishinru karate. Not bad for 7 years old.
Wow! Congrats!

We used to get snow every year in Athens. My grandmother is in Huntsville still. The TN Valley always seems to get a little once per year. Oh, and we were in H'ville for Thanksgiving!

Let me know when you are back down this way and maybe we could meet up for a visit. I have a 5-year-old and he loves to go to McDonald's playland and he would love to meet your three for a play date.

Great job, they look yummy! Your son is adoreable :goodvibes

Here are pictures of the treats we made tonight. Both were really easy and very cute! DS will tell about making them for Share Time on Monday and we're sending them to school for his classmates.

He is very proud of his cookies!

Hey - they turned out great!! I love them and I'm glad you were able to figure out what to do. DS will have a great time in share time Monday - its one of Matt's favorite things to do. Just how many of those wreaths did you eat to make sure they were just right??????

Wow, Saturday night and 42 minutes between the last 2 posts. We must be a busy bunch. Night All (if anyone is even up)

I told you they are addicting. But I've got to try the rollo w/ pecan this week too!

Well ... I HAD to check the post count to see how badly my standing had fallen! LOL Not too bad I have to say!

my3princes caught up and surpassed me by more than 100 posts. And now miss missy is in front of me too!

Darn ... and I still have Christmas shopping ... and wrapping .... ad I still have to actually get HOME ... do laundry ... and turn around to PACK it all again to leave for here again on Friday! LOL If I had enough clothes, I would just wash the clothes and LEAVE the here so I didn't have to lug them back and forth!!!!!

All I can say is thank goodness we have a Hitch-Haul for our car! There is NO WAY we will fit everything inside for Christmas ... including the dog!!!!!

Here's the recipe:

Rudolph Cookies

4 (1 ounce) chocolate candy coating squares
96 pretzel sticks
1 (16 ounce) package Nutter Butter cookies
64 M&M's in green, blue, or brown chocolate pieces
32 red M&M's or Red Hots

Microwave chocolate candy coating in a small shallow glass dish at HIGH 3 minutes, stirring once.
Place 2 pretzel sticks in peanut butter filling of each sandwich cookie, forming large antlers. Break remaining pretzel sticks in half, and place 1 half pretzel stick next to each long pretzel stick, forming smaller antlers.
Dip 1 side of green, blue or brown M&M's in melted candy coating, and place on cookies for the eyes. Dip 1 side of of red M&M's in candy coating, and place on cookies for the noses.

**My pretzel sticks were too large to just stick in the peanut butter filling so I gently separated the cookies, dabbed chocolate inside, put the pretzels in the chocolate and put the cookies back together. I also dabbed a little chocolate over the rest of the inside of the cookie to help hold it together.

I also found a microwaveable pouch from Betty Crocker in the baking section at Walmart that I used for the chocolate. It has a tip on the end so it's easy to dab the chocolate right where you need it.

That's it??? And you call yourself a baker - huh! You need to have at least 10 before you know for SURE whether something is good or not!!!

I'm a couple of pages behind now so you probably got an answer, but there are several different ways to dress up a candy cane. The reindeer is just a brown pipe cleaner wrapped around the top to make antlers, some googly eyes and a pom pom nose. We have also made candy cane mice out of felt. One color felt for body, kind of a large teardrop shape, a different color oval for the ears, some googly eyes and yarn for whiskers. The candy cane is the tail. Cut a couple of slits through the head to slide the ears through. I wish I had one to show you, but mine melted. We hang them on the tree.

Deb

I may have to try the mice next year!!
They sound adorable and the reindeer are really easy and the kids love making those!!
