Goodnight all! In 12 hours my test will (hopefully) be over! Thanks for all the prayers and pixie dust.... if they could continue until about noon tomorrow then maybe I'll pass

See you all in the morning or afternoon!

I'm 8 pages behind, so I need to go back and read. I need a little pixie dust tonight. My Dad drives a dump truck and was hit by a freight train earlier today. The details are sketchy, it appears that the train only hit the last foot of the truck. It is a blind intersection. He has absolutely no recollection of the accident. He remembers eating lunch then he remembers being in the ambulance. We don't think he lost consciousness as someone helped him get out of the truck which was rolled over on the drivers side. He apparently stood there looking at the truck and talking to 3 guys until the ambulance got there, but he doesn't remember any of it. They still have him in a neck brace as radiology hasn't cleared his neck yet and that is where he is having a lot of pain. He also has a small brain bleed. They said that it is the smallest you can have that would show up. They are keeping him overnight and will do another CAT scan in the morning. It appears he was very lucky. Hopefully tonight will go well. Best case scenerio he has severe whiplash. The freight train was 25 cars long and they were loaded with road salt. Dad was driving a 10 wheeler which was fully loaded with sand. The impact flipped the truck. It is probably a good thing that he can't remember. This happened sometime between 12:30 and 1 this afternoon. I got a call around 2 and have been at the hospital since. He is in good spirits now (I think the morphine helps) and has been talking and even laughing during the evening. The owner of the truck came in and they were cracking jokes for the whole visit. Hopefully the bleed won't get worse and all will be ok. We spent from 3 PM - 8 PM in the emergency room then he was moved to a room. I will go back up in the morning to check on him.

I think that I need to write a song about this: "Grandpa Got Runover By a Freight Train" I'm sure that he would think that it was funny if the kids sang it to him. :rotfl:

I have to keep a positive outlook. Thanks for listening.

Deb

Just a few minutes ago..... in two minutes time I got a ***Post your WDW Shirts *** email and then a DDA chat group one! That was certainly a surprise!

Well, thankfully my last clinicals (and in turn the AWFUL uniforms) were over a week or so ago!!! I think I have to keep mine for pinning maybe as well, but I'm wearing Navy Blues for my preceptorship next semester. I can't say I'll miss the whites in the slightest :crazy2:

Tomorrow it's just dress (street) clothes and our white coats.... and 2 hours of one-on-one with the faculty. Sweet. :scared: :faint:

I did practically this same thing right after my first year as well (before we started clincials more often and with less supervision  ) but I was not NEAR as worried.

I think it's because this one has such a big impact on passing or failing.... yuck!

Sorry to burst your bubble but the Reading Outlets don't exist anymore. The VF outlets do still exist though they are in West Reading/Wyomissing or could be considered Reading.

Becky,

I was really talking about just the Reading area cause i knew the names and areas had changed with the outlets. just could not remember how they were on the map. :teeth: Actually, tho somewhere on the community board was someone questioning about if anyone was in Lancaster, Pa and was a DISer and with all our address, thought Reading was close, but actually, maybe somewhere close to Hershey might be somewhat closer.

Would love to meet some other DISers.
Maybe we could try for a FEB meet near there

I'm so glad that everyone's computers are behaving again. Hopefully there will be no need for :badpc: for a long time.

Brendita-Sending hugs and pixie dust your way. Just remember it will get better. You got the idea now stick to it. You are strong and will get through this.

I would start getting things in my own name know, credit cards, bank account, cell phone if you have one, etc. The more independent you make yourself before you actually move the better. It will prepare you for what is to come.

If I missed anyone I am sorry.

Becky

All are done except the cell phone.
What the H.
I can run up @ least 1 of his bills. :rotfl2:

Anyone know where Denise (Triplefigs) is from? I see everyone with winter hats and gloaves -- thinking we should probably pack them -- just in case! DH says -- she's probably from the south or California!

I just remember pulling my arms inside my t-shirt and huddling with DS back in Feb at night!

Hey, it was COLD that night. Everyone had on hats and sweatshirts! By the end of the party it was about 43 with a very brisk wind! Today we got to wear short and shirts! Yippee.

BTW, glad you all thought the Diet Coke picture was a hoot. I told DH that would be a hit in the DDA! I'm putting it in my siggie.

Hey guys really quick before anyone goes to bed - if you posted in Denise's GF thread - please send me a PM!!!

ETA: Thank you all!!! I found out what I wanted to know!!

Oh, and one other thing, I GOT MY LUGGAGE TAGS TODAY!

I loved when that happened. We just held them and turned them so we could see all three views. It was so cool, because I hadn't done a package in years. So luggage tags was a big deal. Then when we got the Magical Express tags.... :cheer2:

Your home is lovely. I love your tree. Good job.

I won't be on much more today -- just back from the second doctor's trip. Matt now has an ear infection as well. Poor kid can't catch a break. So I told him we're going to pick out a movie to watch together and have some "cuddle time".

Later!

Get well Matt!!! :goodvibes
