Thanks! I am trying to realize that I should be able to think and explain my way through things (it's an oral, hands-on exam in the lab). I should know all this stuff, it's just some of it we haven't TOUCHED since first semester of my first year! And some of it is SO far from how it's done in the real world :rotfl:

I just can't afford to do anything stupid. This is not worth a lot of points in and of itself, but if I don't pass it (just this) (and 80%.... not your normal "passing" grade) then I fail the clinical portion.

Blah. It'll be fine, I"ll just be ECSTATIC when it's over! :earseek:

You go girl! I was racing through the posts to see if your computer lived. Whew. :wizard: You'll do fine. Study hard and win... :grouphug:

Hay all.
I'm caught up going to catch up on the OTHER threads.
I'LL BE BACK!!!!!!!

OK, I've been working on my song lyrics for my dad. I'm sure that he'll get a good laugh out of this, especially if he's still getting the morphine.

Grandpa got run over by a freight train
Haulin dirt out of Twin State’s Gravel Pit.
You can say there’s no such thing as bad luck,
But as for me and Grandma we believe.

He’d spent all day Saturday in the ER,
Having trouble just trying to breathe.
They sent him home with Prednisone and inhalers,
And soon he felt the symptoms were relieved.

When he got up Monday morning,
Off to work he did go.
He drove his truck right into the sand pit,
And what would happen next he didn’t know.

Grandpa got run over by a freight train
Haulin dirt out of Twin State’s Gravel Pit.
You can say there’s no such thing as bad luck,
But as for me and Grandma we believe.

He checked both his mirrors at the crossing,
But that big old train he did not see.
He started to drive over the crossing,
And wound up with no short term memory.

We heard that the train almost missed him,
If he’d only had his foot down to the floor.
He’d have never had the car crash,
And won’t have been dragged out of the door.

Grandpa got run over by a freight train
Haulin dirt out of Twin State’s Gravel Pit.
You can say there’s no such thing as bad luck,
But as for me and Grandma we believe.

The Paramedics say he’s very lucky,
Left only with a brain bleed and stiff neck.
Not many people count themselves survivers,
When they tangle with a train that ends in wreck.

Now he lays there trying to remember,
Why didn’t he see that big freight train?
He’s all doped up on morphine,
And all he can remember is the pain.

Grandpa got run over by a freight train
Haulin dirt out of Twin State’s Gravel Pit.
You can say there’s no such thing as bad luck,
But as for me and Grandma we believe.

Obviously it's to the tune of "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer".

What do you all think?

(And why, oh why, did you guys go through all the DVC stuff? I had no idea they were running these specials! DH has already agreed we will buy in sometime - now I'm wondering if we can do so sight unseen before Jan! :rotfl: )

Of course you can do it sight unseen! You don't have to stay at SSR, you know where the other resorts are - I say go for it!!

Any questions - let me know.

And your trip sounds like our October trip. So we're going back in Jan for 3 nights!! Hope you can do the same!

I'm tired and since I need to get to the hospital in the morning, I'm headed to bed. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. You guys are the best.

You are too funny!! At least you are being positive about this, and that'll help him!

I will be sure to let you know. Just don't think I could convince DH that the timing is right!

And I can't complain - we're going back in early March to complete our "year of the Mouse/AP's". Too bad there won't be any Xmas decorations, though! At least we're staying at different resorts - poor DH, he said, though through no fault of it's own, he never wants to stay at the WL again - too many bad memories! :crazy2:  Fortunately, we moved to BWI for our last 2 nights, just when we were starting to feel like ourselves again!

I'm 8 pages behind, so I need to go back and read. I need a little pixie dust tonight. My Dad drives a dump truck and was hit by a freight train earlier today. The details are sketchy, it appears that the train only hit the last foot of the truck. It is a blind intersection. He has absolutely no recollection of the accident. He remembers eating lunch then he remembers being in the ambulance. We don't think he lost consciousness as someone helped him get out of the truck which was rolled over on the drivers side. He apparently stood there looking at the truck and talking to 3 guys until the ambulance got there, but he doesn't remember any of it. They still have him in a neck brace as radiology hasn't cleared his neck yet and that is where he is having a lot of pain. He also has a small brain bleed. They said that it is the smallest you can have that would show up. They are keeping him overnight and will do another CAT scan in the morning. It appears he was very lucky. Hopefully tonight will go well. Best case scenerio he has severe whiplash. The freight train was 25 cars long and they were loaded with road salt. Dad was driving a 10 wheeler which was fully loaded with sand. The impact flipped the truck. It is probably a good thing that he can't remember. This happened sometime between 12:30 and 1 this afternoon. I got a call around 2 and have been at the hospital since. He is in good spirits now (I think the morphine helps) and has been talking and even laughing during the evening. The owner of the truck came in and they were cracking jokes for the whole visit. Hopefully the bleed won't get worse and all will be ok. We spent from 3 PM - 8 PM in the emergency room then he was moved to a room. I will go back up in the morning to check on him.

I think that I need to write a song about this: "Grandpa Got Runover By a Freight Train" I'm sure that he would think that it was funny if the kids sang it to him. :rotfl:

I have to keep a positive outlook. Thanks for listening.

Deb

Oh Deb! :grouphug: Many prayers that he is good as new tomorrow. Hugs for you too.

Wow. He must be a really tough guy to go through something like that and keep his sense of humor. :grouphug:

Unfortunately, on property. It was either from Artist Point or Sci Fi (we're guessing most likely Sci Fi). Not to discourage anyone from eating there - we enjoyed our meals at the time - just not the aftermath!

I was going to ask you the same question. For the same reason we will never eat at Sonny Eclipse (Cosmic Rays) ever again. Could be coincidence, but I'm not taking the chance.
