I hate to ask this .... but did they just get it to boot up ... or were able to recover the files too? Crossing my fingers and I'll keep reading ....

ALL FILES INTACT!!!!! They temporarily saved all files, settings, etc on that tech drive thingy and then merged them with my newly restored computer! Everything is fine!

Except that even WITH that document I'm getting a little nervous about the CST...

but one thing at a time.

we are actually sending the curly hair doll back - they can say all they want that she isn't african american -but she is - she actually probably look bi-racial and I know that Julia really wants one that looks like her - this doll is way too dark - Julia is so fair skinned that I can't justify keeping it for the money!! So I bought a curly head cabbage patch doll - maybe soon they will come out with a curly haired doll!!

Kate --- have you ever seen these dolls? http://www.mytwinn.com I've heard they're $$$ but at least you would have what you want.

OMG! How WONDERFUL! I know your nervous ... but you know more than you realize. Forget about your PC problems -- they're past you!! Back up your data TONIGHT! And get to reviewing your notes etc. Get some SLEEP too! A rested brain is a SMART brain!

Thanks! I am trying to realize that I should be able to think and explain my way through things (it's an oral, hands-on exam in the lab). I should know all this stuff, it's just some of it we haven't TOUCHED since first semester of my first year! And some of it is SO far from how it's done in the real world

I just can't afford to do anything stupid. This is not worth a lot of points in and of itself, but if I don't pass it (just this) (and 80%.... not your normal "passing" grade) then I fail the clinical portion.

Blah. It'll be fine, I"ll just be ECSTATIC when it's over!

Kate go to that page and go to the my twinn friends there is like four pages of dolls and the one name Eloise on page one looks a lot like Julie. I think she has the same cute face. Her hair is a little lighter but overall a very good match I think.

I didn't really read into it, but what could the criteria be that Julia can't meet? Cute and outgoing. I'm pretty sure she qualifies

It's sponsored (around here anyway) by Warm 98, so I'm guessing it's not anything ultra competitive, set out to destroy the self-image of young girls I bet they just want to make sure your daughter doesn't freak out and throw a fit instead of following directions like "walk down here and smile". Let us know how it goes!

Also, if you go to some of the flea markets, etc you can find doll shops like MyTwin. They aren't junk either, like some things you can find at a flea market I have one and so does my sister that are 1 and 2 decades old and are still really nice. I wish I had more info for you, but maybe it would spare some disappointment???

I just finished making two batches of pecan brittle and it is sooo good. I am making some to give as gifts. It takes like 10 minutes in the microwave. I love the easy stuff.

The price is about the same as the AG doll, and there's a lOT to choose from. I completely made a Julia doll but I couldn't get the finished product picture to show!
