Did Kevin help you put stuff away last year? Maybe they are in one of the containers that have your decorations in.

I'm sure I stashed them in the wrong container, but the problem is we have 8 of those things, and I'm not up for searching through them by myself.

I was just baiting Kevin...it seems he's actually working today. :rotfl:

Oh, and I have to admit...Kevin pretty much puts all the Christmas decorations away by himself. I'm not very domestic. :teeth:

Okay - I need to vent

my MIL is very prim and proper and as you all can guess I am too much for her - too loud, too opinionated etc.

I really do like her - we are just very different

she makes what I would consider wierd food - not really - I am just a meat and potatoes girl and don't like my foods mixed - she adds green and red pepper (to which I am mildly allergic) to everything corn, potatoes, etc. - she never just makes plain corn or plain broccoli or jello - you get the picture - she has to jazz everything up - of course my 2 & 4 yo do not like her cooking -so I never pressure them to eat what she serves and just feed them later or let them only eat dessert - once a month this is not a big deal

she had made several comments to me about how Julia seems like she is a good eater but my MIL has never seen her eat - she doesn't let them have anything to drink or eat once they get to her house in order for them to have an appetite at dinner - she can't figure it out - it has never occured to her that the food she makes might not appeal to young children (DH was adopted at 8 - and ate whatever they put in front of him out of fear of being sent back and I imagine it was awesome compared to what he had been served his whole life) She will serve kids a greek salad with feta cheese, olives, onions, and greek dressing - she just doesn't seem to get that kids are picky at that age

she is taking Julia to a tea party on Saturday at 2:00 and we are taking Julia to her school winter carnival on Saturday morning - how can I tell Julia she can't go b/c later in the day she has plans with grandma - of course MIL thinks we should not go to the carnival - so she slips a comment into our conversation the other day - I hope you don't let Julia eat too much at the carnival so her appetite is spoiled for the tea party

this has been simmering inside of me - first - who would wait until 2:00 in the afternoon to feed their child? Julia would be pretty crabby - does she really think they are going to serve a feast at the tea party and odds are unless it is a subway ham and turkey sandwich or chicken nuggets - Julia isn't eating it -

I am sorry that my kid is picky - I am sorry that you make food she doesn't like - I am sorry that my 2 & 4 year old don't like to sit at the dinner table for and hour during salad, dinner and a dessert

okay - I feel better now!

What? You don't think Julia will like tea and cucumber sandwiches? :confused3

Take Julia to the carnival and have a blast. Feed her a lunch that will make her happy, and don't worry about it. Sure she'll give you grief later, but you know if it's not one thing, it'll be another. :teeth:

And Alyssa rejected a banana and cheese ravioli today. I thought those were kid-friendly foods... :confused3

While I was waiting for classes to begin, I made the T-shirts for the family who is going to be at WDW the same time we are.

THANKS, MidNite!

And thank YOU for showing me! :goodvibes

Amy, at least Kevin helps. All my husband does is set up the tree and put the lights on. I do the rest, all decorating and undecorating, he takes the lights off and puts the tree out for the garbage.

Kate, sorry but your MIL is strange. :grouphug: Poor Julia is going to be starving by the time they get home from the tea.

Yeah, right...you know Steve won't go near this thing! :rotfl:

And Heidi, yes, I'm so grateful Kevin helps. He's a true prince. I just like to tease him (almost as much as I like to tease Kate :teeth: )

Amy :)

I agree with Amy.........enjoy the Carnival and if she is hungry at lunch time let her eat. I have told my mom that my boys are basically meat eaters.....Alex isn't even a fan of mac n cheese. Now Austin will eat green beans and corn but that is it. They enjoy lettuce with ranch dressing but nothing else on the salad.

I let them eat what they enjoy eating and there own taste buds will develop.

Important update! I'm dressed now (though I'm still not going anywhere), and I'm slowly catching up to Lynn! :rotfl:

All right...I give up for now. I really need to get off the computer and get something accomplished around here!

Kate - from what I've seen and heard of Julia, she can handle Grandma! Let her do what she wants to do.

Did you read the part where I said I am too much for my MIL - how do you think she feels about Julia :rotfl:

One day my MIL said to me "It would kill me if Julia ever decided to be a SAHM"

:confused3 um - what am I?!?!

She has bought Julia a plethora of doctor stuff for Christmas - she also refuses to buy her Barbie - I am surprised she hasn't banned the princesses!

All kids are picky at that age. I would just take her to the carnival and let her enjoy herself. Don't worry about the MIL. In my experience, mine is going to hate me no matter what, so it really doesn't matter what I do or tell the kids.

With my MIL, I don't let her be alone with my kids. My little ones are age 8, 6, and twin 3 yo. MIL is the queen of online dating and likes to tell stories (inappropriate ones ) about all her men friends to my kids. Pardon me, but I don't want my 8 year old DD listening to inappropriate stories about her grandmother. She also likes to tell bedtime stories to my kids prominently featuring Armageddon. However, don't get me started. I could go on for hours about my dear MIL.
