Thanks for the suggestion. Had to use a 2 or 3 but it does stand out a little better. Again, thanks! :)

Wow, lovesdumbo! Please don't take this the wrong way....but....you may need some help....can you say...Disney Design Addict!!!! :rotfl: I am a little worried about you! Besides I thought about all that just last nite :rotfl2: Just kidding around. I love your ideas!!!

This thread is the best!!!!! :cheer2:

I'm fine really. I do NOT have a problem. I even stayed away from this thread all weekend (I'm sure I could have even if the lightning wasn't keeping me off the computer). Beside I haven't even done one design myself YET...I am thinking of purchasing Photo Impact at Comp USA this week. :rotfl2:

Seriously...I haven't done any designs yet but I thought when I come back from my August trip I may start doing templates for autographs.

I've got about 10 T's all washed in my closet and after I make them (with my iron not a coveted heat press) I'll be sure to post photos.

perpetualplanner...how do I get the picture to show up and not the link??

Go to your photo.

Right click on it.

A box will come up and one of the things on it will say PROPERTIES

Click on properties.

Another gray box will come up.

One of the listings on it will say: ADDRESS...URL

Copy that ...the one for your Bears photo is http://smakl1.tripod.com/disney/thumbnails/600x450/bears1.jpg

Now come back to the post reply box here at the DIS.

Up there at the top where the B I U are located to the right of them are pictures. The FIRST one is like an envelope.

Click on it...it says Insert Image

A gray box will come up.

Paste your photo URL into that box.

Viola... your picture will appear when you hit preview!

Love DaBears design!!! :cool1:

It seems like I saw Gildan T-shirts on clearance at BJ's, I think that they only had mens though. They had 3 packs of colored boys T's too. I did a tank with built in bra for myself (walmart) and it came out as good as regular t's. I did shrink the design down a lot to make it work. I have now finished all 3 sets of shirts and am waiting for my family (models) to all be free at the same time to take some pictures. Oh yeah, the tye dye towel came out great too.

Deb

I went to BJ's Friday and bought 2 Gildan men's T's (White & Black). They were not on clearance-I think $6.50. I also bought a 3 pack of boy's Docker rigger T's (1 white w/navy trim, 1 orange w/?trim, 1 red w/navy trim) on clearance for $7.

I will post photos of T's when they are complete.

Speaking of t-shirts....KMART has a ton of summer stuff on sale.Plain t-shirts for woman anywhere from $2.50 to $5 a piece.Sixe XS to XL.Think they had Plus sizes too.

I got the Basic Edition brand. It's a nice weight and has a sorta scoop neckline.

I was excited to find these because it seems like plain woman's t-shirts are harder to find. :cool1:

Also Speaking of T-shirts. :listen: Wal-mart has "Just My Size" T-shirts on sale for $6.00 and the colors are bright. :cool1: They are 100% cotton...I am washing them now to see if they are going to shrink!! :scared:  Will let everyone know soon. :chat:

I have 2 questions. My first question is that I need help with this picture.

castle2005.jpg

I want to make the sky lighter, without effecting the color of the castle. But I can't seem to do that. Can anyone help?

2nd question is, when I made shirts in 2003, the transfers didn't last the day. Our trasfers started shredding from the moment we started wearing them. Is this just how it is, or did I just use bad transfers?
Thanks for your help! :sunny:

Oh, you are right, it does look a bit better. Thanks for your collaboration. Now just one question. I think this design is 5x6 when I open it. If I enlarge it to 8x10, is it going to pixelate?

J&N's Mom - yes I did find your crowns. Thanks.

How long before I need a new PC? Mine is over 4 years old. I just bought a 7MP camera and I was having memory (not storage) issues with that. I'm sure Photo Impact will totally stress out PC! :earseek:

Here is my first shirt. I hope I posted this picture correctly. Thanks goes to J&N's Mom for her design!

I can't help with your second question, sorry. I used this castle illustration for my daughter's birthday shirt (I think it's on page ONE of this thread!) and was happy to discover that the sky printed out much lighter than it looks on screen. It looked like daytime with fireworks, which didn't bother me at all because daytime fireworks are part of Cinderellabration! I was still very happy with the color of the castle. Of course, YMMV.

If you don't like how the sky color prints on your printer, then you'll need to select the non-castle parts of the image and then lighten them. The selecting process will take more time/effort than the actual lightening. In Photoshop, I'd use the magic lasso tool or maybe even the magic wand. You might find it easier to select the castle and then select Inverse to get everything but the castle. I don't know how to do it in the other software applications, though...

because I know you will all want to know -

I used two pictures - lightened one and then put the other one on top and erased the dark sky

Tammi - it is so beautiful - I think I might cry!!!
Yes it is. I am very happy with it, although I think it is not quite centered, but not enough to really notice. All thanks goes to you for the design and to everyone else who posted their tips regarding transfer papers and the iron-on process.
