Do the Disney Descendants have any presence at the Parks? My daughter is a big fan. We got her a costume online, after market. They were sold out long before Halloween.

Are there any plans for character meets or stage shows, etc? I couldn't find any this past week. I thought they would, considering the TV movie's popularity. My daughter would lie to see them on our next visit. Thanks!

..on another note. Maybe the cast members should be brought up to speed on character storylines. We met the Evil Queen from Snow White in the entrance to Hollywood Studios. My daughter asked her about her daughter in the Descendants; Evie. The Evil Queen had no idea who Evie was. She said she only had a stepdaughter, Snow White.

IF there is no presence, then that might not be part of the storyline for the in-park characters.

I mean, when Enchanted was out and there was a parade (at least at DL), Gisele was in her wedding gown and was being touted as a princess. Ummmmm, no, not quite.

There was a discussion recently on this board concerning the Descendants characters. Disney Channel simply doesn't have a presence in the park. I would expect characters to know their original movies well and probably even their sequels, but I don't think it is necessary for them to be caught up on Disney Channel programming like Descendants when the vast majority of the guests they see in a day don't really care about it. Popularity is relative.

There isn't anything Descendants in the parks and it is doubtful that there will be.

Have to agree with what pp said, it's a much different story line.

Entertainment cm's are required to watch their related movies, but it's only the original. We've asked Charming things from Cinderella 3 and he had no clue what we were talking about, heck, at MNSSHP I was dressed like Periwinkle (Tink's sister) and she thought I was Silvermist... awks...

Descendants might have some merch in the parks but I don't see them being out for meet and greets ever. Plus it would be SUPER hard to cast!

The official canon for characters is based solely on the original films. Many will know what happens in the sequel (Ariel + Melody, etc), but it is not a part of their official story.

You are not meeting the characters from other productions (OUAT, Descendents, the new live-actions, the Princess Pets line), so they would not know the characters/story

For Cinderella 3, the whole premise is that it's an alternate storyline, so I'm not surprised Charming didn't know anything since he is technically not from that timeline. And I'm guessing the Tink thing was probably just a one-off because I've had conversations about Periwinkle with her.

Cinderella's usually known what we were talking about, We also bring Cinderella sequels with the Tremaines all the time too. they always get in on it.Tink was clearly having an off day, most of the time she's really good with Peri, dunno what happened. If you ask a Sleeping Beauty character about Malificient they'll not know what you're talking about.

Like you said, different productions are different storylines and not related despite having similar/the same characters

I feel like it is fair to compare it to Once Upon a Time. They are just very different takes on the stories than the classics. I would not expect classic characters to be able to fit into a character from a different storyline like Once Upon a Time or Descendants.

I'd think it varies a lot with the CMs. I'm sure some completely embrace their characters and watch and know everything...others probably do the bare minimum.

Also, I had no idea all these sequels existed. I'd be the latter type of CM, apparently. :)

I thought there might be at least a Descendants stage show. The TV ratings were comparable to High School Musical, which had a stage show.

Oh well.. Thanks everyone.

That's so sad about Tink not recognizing your costume! I just finished making my DD a Zarina costume and I hope Tink will recognize that one. DD super, super loves the Pirate Fairy.

I completely agree. There is a massive following for Descendants. I think there will eventually be a show but we're just too early to see it. High School Musical took years and I believe at least one sequel before it showed up in Hollywood Studios.
