Disney Dating site?

Tarzanman I live south of Brownstown in Monroe. My dream is to move to Florida and get out of these 4 seasons in 1 week things. It's hot and humid here this week 95 degrees and 85% humidity. I won't be going anywhere soon because I have a Habitat for Humanity house at % interest. I'll keep looking up here!!!

This is a relatively new site with not much "action" on it yet, but if the single DIS'ers head on over, I'm sure it'll be jumping in no time!

Thanks for posting the link. I'm going to send that to my DBIL.

Could the "single and looking" DISers request a forum of their own here on the DIS?

Yes, if anyone finds a great spot, I would love to register. It takes a special person to enjoy disney like we do. They are few and far between.

That is so funny - that you should post this now.. My DH just passed away in January and this past weekend, while sitting around the campfire, my DD asked me if I would ever date or remarry again.. I told her I didn't really know - kind of premature to be thinking along those lines.. She then asked me what kind of man I would look for "if" I was looking.. My response was that there would be 3 things that would have to be in place - he would have to love Disney, he would have to love the Adirondack Mts., and he would have to love the New England coast.. If those things were not of interest to him I probably wouldn't be interested in getting to know him better.. LOL :teeth:

I am so glad I decided to read this thread. I am a 41 year old widow with two girls (14 and 11). After many tries at finding the "right" one, I decided to forget it. My desires are quite simple: a love of Disney, college football, and animals. Sounds easy, huh? Not at all! After trying to change for different people, I have decided that this is me and I will not change.

I don't know of a site, but I want to encourage you to stay exactly as you are. Nothing is more interesting than a person with a real passion for a hobby or a profession.

I agree! If they don't love Disney or can't learn to love Disney, then you don't want to be with them.

But I was in your situation exactly 2 years ago. My marriage had ended and Disney was a huge part of our lives. We lived 2 hours away and went one weekend a month. We honeymooned at Disney! So when we separated, I actually wondered if I'd ever have Disney in my life again.

Well I didn't have to wait long because in walks in my current DH and although he didn't have a passion for Disney, he had a passion for me and he was all for experiencing Disney. He's said that even if he hated it he'd go to Disney just to see my face light up. Our first Disney trip was last October and we are going again this Oct!

Good luck - I don't know of a site so maybe you can start one! And if you try any online dating services, be sure to mention your love for Disney. I know that special gal is just waiting on your ad to pop up!

I just signed up! Only 13 registered members! I guess that makes me lucky 13. :cool1:

i bet we could more than double their membership by this afternoon!

Anyone else going to join?

Not a dating service, but if you truly enjoy Disney and want to meet like minded people, why not join NFFC? The NFFC (National Fantasy Fan Club - a club for Disney Enthusiasts) has local meetings and national meetings. The next nation meeting is in July in California (I think it is the 9th - 14th?) For more information on NFFC go to www.nffc.org.

Hope this information helps!

I don't want to join the club, Tim. Just wanted to say "hi". I doubt that you remember me but I met you at a DIS meet at your house in Brownstown :wave2:

Definitely don't change or hide your hobby - your perfect mate will either appreciate your hobby or love it just as much as you do! If my husband didn't love Disney I don't know what I would do.

My step dad doesn't get Disney and my mom is sometimes miserable about it...

Tim - maybe you will be able to find your disney princess on the cruise!!!! DCL cruises have a way of working some magic ;)

Heidi-

I guess its possible. There aren't usually very many single folks on the Disney Cruises that I have been on. Maybe it will be different this time. Who knows?

The people that I work with tell me that in order for me to find someone to date or have a relationship with, I need to tone down the Disney. By the way, I forgot to say that I have a Disney themed living room and a new full size van that has Disney stuff on it and in it.
Tarzanman

don't tone down your Disney passion for anyone, it might work short term, but in the long run you would be unhappy.....

any pictures of the van,,,I can relate since I drive the Mickeymobile...

I feel your pain. I developed my Disney obsession...err, love... during my most recent long-term relationship. That relationship ending was why I came looking for a Disney site (because I had a tripped planned for us that I canceled and I had a Chef Mickey's PS I thought someone could use).

It's a tough situation, no doubt. But... :disrocks:
:teeth:

I do not have any pictures of the van right now. I will work on that. It is nothing fancy. I am still working on it.

I got it right away but it was in my unapproved email list..........Could that be the problem?
