Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

lol.....I LOVE your trip reports because you are real....as in we get the good, the bad and the ugly when it happens in your reports.

HOWEVER, even though you warned us about your photos, I must say that you look so cute in your bathing suit! :cutie: I have never been brave enough to go on that slide at Blizzard Beach. It's just a little too high!

AND, I've only ever ridden the chairs one time....it scared the bejeezus out of me and I've climbed those 180 steps each and every other time. (I didn't count them - a CM told us that there are 180 steps and laughed at me because I climb them while my family rides up on the chair lift.)

I also think I know what slide you are talking about in your title of the next segment of your TR. I get stuck at the top of the family racers EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.

Love your TR! Thanks for sharing your vacation!

I still have not seen Fantasmic. I really need to work it in. I am going to have to make it a priority next time I go.

You are braver than me with that slide...It looks scary and I would be the one to flip over the side or scrape all parts of my body on concrete.

Did it feel warmer when you rode the second slide and were already wet? I'm starting to think it's going to have to be really hot for me to go to Blizzard Beach. I just can't take the cold.

I want to keep my reports real...real real. Not sugar coated real.

Aww, thank you . I didn't want anybody to say that I didn't warn 'em.

I have never been brave enough to go on that slide at Blizzard Beach. It's just a little too high!

I was scared that I'd get up there and then think it was too high.

You are braver than I am. I wouldn't even get on it once. :rotfl: 180 steps? No wonder I was tired!

Hoping to get the next update posted tomorrow.

Great updates, Lisa. Nice seats. And I didn't think your pictures were bad at all (much better than anything I've ever gotten). I really like the one of Snow White and Prince Charming.

We didn't do the water parks in June at we had planned (ended up going to Disney Quest...water park would have been better!). I remember going down that slide once and it was the last time. I believe that was in the days of my still wearing a two piece...it wasn't pretty. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I hope you figure out John's new issues sooner rather than later and hope it is something easily fixed.

Your braver then me. I still am not sure I would/could go down that slide. I would have to send my hubby first to see if I could handle it. But he won't do heights so I don't think I will ever try.
As for the stairs, I tell myself that I really am our of shape daily. At my new job I try to do the stairs up two flights at least once a day. I am so out of breath.

Jen! You have got to work Fantasmic into your plans someday. I love it!

That's what I said when I went down the slide the first time. I figured that I'd somehow be the first casualty.

Did it feel warmer when you rode the second slide and were already wet? I'm starting to think it's going to have to be really hot for me to go to Blizzard Beach. I just can't take the cold.

It did feel warmer when I went down the body slide. The family raft ride had water coming over the sides and we went around and through waterfalls. Maybe the water hadn't gotten warmed up by the sun yet but it was cold! I won't be doing the raft ride first thing in the morning again. I'm a very cold natured person and the body slide water didn't bother me at all.

Try as I might, my pictures never turn out very good. But, these were better than my other attempts.

Oh my! That's exactly the reason, I didn't wear my "cute" swimsuit. It's a long top with shorts and I was afraid that one of the other of them would come off.

I hope you figure out John's new issues sooner rather than later and hope it is something easily fixed.

I hope so too!

The first time that we went to Typhoon Lagoon, I was afraid to go down the taller slides but I figured I had to do it or look like a total wimp. It wasn't that bad.

Good job on walking the stairs! I used to get out at lunch time and walk at least four blocks but then it got super hot and I couldn't come back to the office all sweaty.

I'd much rather eat at 50s instead of Hollywood & Vine. Yay for being able to make the switch.:cool1:

Thanks, we are happy too!

Your Fantasmic pictures are good! It's definitely the most difficult park "show" to get good pictures of.

I've never been to either water park at Disney! George and I were considering doing BB while we are there, but I doubt we will. The water may be heated still during winter, but the air won't be! :scared1: The body slide does look like a ton of fun though.

Bonus on the excellent Fantasmic seating! That's awesome.
I've never done Blizzard Beach (only Typhoon Lagoon) so it's interesting to see your pictures and read about the slides. I did the giant slide at TL and can't see me doing the similar one at BB!

Great seats for F! Your pictures came out good!!! at least you can tell what they are!!!

we have never done the water parks there. so looking at your adventure is way fun! Plus i love the way you don't hold back!!! Love the ohh look at the pretty painted toes! YOU CRACK ME UP!!!

Sounds like a good time at the flea market. I love a good flea market...

Hope you get some answers soon to John's medical issues.

I don't think there is such a thing as a bad visit to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. I just love that area. Like you said - even if the roads through the park are closed, there's still a LOT to do.

Good job, tempting John to look at menus by offering cheesecake! :rotfl2:

We live out in the boonies, and have never once gotten a trick-or-treater. However, Halloween is DH's birthday, so we're usually doing something. This time, we just stayed home and I made a nice dinner.

We've only seen Fantasmic once, but loved it. Sounds like you guys were in about the same place as we were. It's a good view.

Love the Karate Chop comment -- too fun! I'm not usually afraid of heights, but chair-lift type rides to kinda freak me out. I probably would have taken the stairs, too.

Also love the "cold as a witch's ti**t" remark. We say that a lot around here. I do remember the first time my DD actually realized what we were saying. She simply asked how we knew how cold a witch's ti**y was. :rotfl:

Good for you, for mastering your fear of heights and being able to enjoy the slide. You are not the only one who can't/doesn't tan. If I'm in the sun too long, I just burn then peel. DH and DD -- they'll tan by just looking outdoors. I burn.

John just looks like he is really having fun here.

Sounds like you all enjoyed the slide and are having a great time at the water park.

How fun to be making plans with Lacey for your next trip!! :cool1: Sooooo, you got John to look at menus and choose restaurants, and there are no "Sugar Britches" conversations to post? :confused3 Those are one of my favorite parts of your reports! :rotfl2:

Our family LOVED Blizzard Beach! Let me tell you, be glad you didn't do the big tall slide, Summit Plummet. I did, and I am not exageratting (like we southerners love to do) when I say my legs were bruised from my heinee cheeks down to my knees after that slide!!! :scared1: It was horrible, I felt like I was being beaten all the way from the top to the bottom. :sad2:

But, other than that...the rest of the slides and stuff were so much fun! That water park was one of the highlights of our 2013 trip. :goodvibes

We don’t like to wait in that super long line before the show starts (as if anybody does :rotfl:) so we try to get there a short time after they start letting guests into the theater. When we got to the entrance, people were still walking in but it wasn’t jam packed, shoulder to shoulder folks.

Good to know. I only did Fantasmic! once, and the wait for the show really detracted from the experience in my eyes.

The castmembers were waving the guests on in and when we got to the middle, a castmember asked if it were just the three of us and if so, there were some seats pretty close to the front if we wanted to go down. Of course, we said yes and she let us in. The others behind us? She pointed them further down. Sweet! :woohoo: Well, sweet for us. Not sweet for the people behind us.

:woohoo::banana::cool1:

We waited for most of the crowds to filter out of the theater before we walked down the hill and towards the front of the park. Despite my freaking out over the Pizza Planet stairs, running into the fake non-English speaking family, the guy with the chesticles and a blah dinner, the day had a been a great one.

I'm glad it was a good day!

Even though we have been to Disney World twenty times, there are still things that we haven’t experienced and I try to work at least one “new to us” thing each trip. Friday, May 30th, was a day that we were excited about because it included not one but two things that we had never done while at Walt Disney World.

Cool! Seems like you can never cover everything there.

That’s when I told him “Boy, I’ll karate chop your neck with this flip flop!” if you even look like you’re going to try. :lmao:

We need video! :rotfl2:

My wife would be right there with you. She rode a ski lift once and actually WALKED DOWN THE MOUNTAIN rather than ride it back down.:rotfl:

I climbed all the way up the steps ‘cause I wasn’t getting on those dangling chairs of death. I guess I felt it would be better to fall down a mountain of concrete? As I was going up, I was saying to myself “You have got to start working out again.” “You are getting old.” “One more step, just one more step and you’ll be there.” :faint:

Haven't we all been there?:lmao:

Well, now I’m going to post pictures of me in all of my lily white skinned glory. In a bathing suit that’s really not “in fashion” but rather one that I knew would not give me a big old wedgie or slip off. No real excuse for either one of those except that I’ve never been able to get a tan and I was not blessed with chesticles like our nexttable neighbor from the night before. :rotfl: Like I said, I post pictures of pretty much everything in my reports. Feel free to just scroll on down if you’d like. Movin’ on.

Oh, like I have any room to talk. Rumor has it sunglasses manufacturers test their product with photos of me at the pool. I like to tell people I only come in two colors: red or white.

My second time down the slide was even more fun that the first because I wasn’t nervous about whether or not I’d like it.

Great job overcoming the phobia and having fun!

What luck on those seats at Fantasmic!

Kudos for overcoming your fear of heights to try something new! I don't blame you for skipping the Chair lift thingys. I'm not a big fan of them myself.

Thanks for the positive wishes for the H&V breakfast. At least it will get us into the park early and cross off a few important m&gs for DD.

Chesticles. CHESTICLES!!!! :lmao: I'm going to start using that one.

I have gotten so far behind! I blame work. It's been too busy so I haven't had time for replies.

Your day at Blizzard Beach looks fun so far! I'd love that slide. Also, I bet you that I'm more pasty white than you are. At least you live in the south. I'm up north where most of our year we are bundled up and never see the sun.:rotfl2:

I can't believe how rude that family was at H&V. There is just no excuse for that. He can't even apologize? Some people are so entitled.

Your Fantasmic pics weren't too bad! I could tell who everyone was in them.

I had to laugh again when you said you were going to karate chop John's throat with your flip flop :lmao::lmao:
We went to Blizzard Beach a long time ago and I remember walking up those stairs to the top of the slides ::yes:: We had a blast but it wore me out.
So which water park did you like best Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon ?
We plan on going to a water park our next trip but have not been to Typhoon Lagoon yet.

Great seats for Fantasmic!!! Love your pictures.

The family ride at Blizzard Beach is the best! It is always weird when the rides require a minimum number. We have that at a local water park and when Ben was riding with a friend on one of the double raft rides I had to go with some creepy old guy that was all by himself.

I'm sorry that you were shocked by the cold water, but in Disney's defense, they do call it "Blizzard Beach"

:cool1: Yay, Lisa! I am so proud of you for setting aside your fears and doing the body slide! :worship:

Glad to see your waterproof camera is still holding up. Isn't it great to have something like that when you are at a waterpark?

I'm looking forward to hearing more about your day at Blizzard Beach!

:fish:

Thanks, we are happy too!

Maybe you can talk George into a trip during the warmer months so that you can check out the water parks. We had forgotten how much fun they are.

Bonus on the excellent Fantasmic seating! That's awesome.
I've never done Blizzard Beach (only Typhoon Lagoon) so it's interesting to see your pictures and read about the slides. I did the giant slide at TL and can't see me doing the similar one at BB!

We were very happy with the decision to go to Blizzard Beach first (we also went to Typhoon Lagoon this trip). It was nice to experience something new.

Great seats for F! Your pictures came out good!!! at least you can tell what they are!!!

Which is lots better than most of my :sad2: Fantasmic pictures.

we have never done the water parks there. so looking at your adventure is way fun! Plus i love the way you don't hold back!!! Love the ohh look at the pretty painted toes! YOU CRACK ME UP!!!

I don't think that I could hold back even if I wanted to.

Sounds like a good time at the flea market. I love a good flea market...

Darla, you'd love Canton. It's HUGE! They sell all sorts of things there. It's truly from trash to treasure.

Hope you get some answers soon to John's medical issues.

Thank you!

I don't think there is such a thing as a bad visit to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. I just love that area. Like you said - even if the roads through the park are closed, there's still a LOT to do.

I agree! We'll definitely find enough to keep us occupied.

Good job, tempting John to look at menus by offering cheesecake! :rotfl2:

A girl has to do what a girl has to do.

We live out in the boonies, and have never once gotten a trick-or-treater. However, Halloween is DH's birthday, so we're usually doing something. This time, we just stayed home and I made a nice dinner.

Sounds like a nice evening.::yes::

Love the Karate Chop comment -- too fun! I'm not usually afraid of heights, but chair-lift type rides to kinda freak me out. I probably would have taken the stairs, too.

Mama wants to do the chair lift up the mountain in Gatlinburg. Not sure if I'm going to do it or not.

Also love the "cold as a witch's ti**t" remark. We say that a lot around here. I do remember the first time my DD actually realized what we were saying. She simply asked how we knew how cold a witch's ti**y was. :rotfl:

Elizabeth and her funny self!

Good for you, for mastering your fear of heights and being able to enjoy the slide. You are not the only one who can't/doesn't tan. If I'm in the sun too long, I just burn then peel. DH and DD -- they'll tan by just looking outdoors. I burn.

That's the way I am. I get red and then peal. John can tan so easily.

John just looks like he is really having fun here.

You know John, he hardly ever smiles but he was all smiles after going down the slide.

Sounds like you all enjoyed the slide and are having a great time at the water park.

We had a great time!
