Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

Been in the background for a bit ... family jokes that i'm often so far behind that i think I'm FIRST!! But heck, better late than never and I always see things that they rush past :rotfl2:

Get the heck out of the background! No need to be shy.

I figured this was a great time to catch up with your escapades since I'm sitting here while the stupid dripping water heater is getting replaced. I have no idea what they're doing since for some strange reason they shut the door into the laundry room -- perhaps super secret water heater installation tips that are trademarked!!

Ooooh, you need to have a hidden camera in the laundry room so you can see what they are hiding.

I love the buses that are in service now. We live close to Toronto and they are testing out articulated streetcars that are the length of FOUR standard ones!! I always freak out when i get stuck standing on the flooring that twists and turns around the corners!!

Holy crap! the length of four standard ones? That's one long streetcar!

Keep up the good work you are helping to increase my excitement for our Oct/Nov visit to CBR :cool1:

October/November will be here before you know it.

That's hilarious about the shirt... I was expecting something wild and crazy, not just a t-shirt :)

I know! It's just a plain old t-shirt.

Ohana is one of our favorites. My husband appeases my crazy Disney planning and requests to go back as long as we eat at Ohana 2x during our trip. We usually try and make it our first and last night dinner. YUMMY!

Shoot yeah! I'd make two Ohana reservations if it meant a trip to Disney every time.

had to come over and read after Kathy (katMark) talked your reports up so much! This is an amazing report! I am having so much fun reading along!!!
LOVE the tee shirt stories!!! You guys seem to have the best time together!!!

Welcome! Many thanks to Kathy for sending you my way!

We are a wild and crazy kinda family and love spending time together...especially at Disney. Next trip, it will include our daughter and son-in-law and possibly a short visit from my 80 year old mother. Already planning the next trip and the 2015 rates aren't even out. Yep, we are Disney fanatics!

Hey ya'll! Hope that you had a wonderful long July 4th holiday weekend! I had hoped to get a trip report installment posted this afternoon but my photobucket account is all whacked up right now and I'm working on organizing some pics. Gotta have pictures to write a trip report. If I don't make it back this afternoon, I will tomorrow. Hang tight!

I've been reading your trip report and really enjoying it!!
We will be staying at CBR for the first time in Sept. for FD.
When I made my package Reservation I had the CM put a request for
Jamaica section upper floor. My question is should I put this in again when I check in online? to get a better chance of getting my request? thanks for any help

:lmao: And I bet they are both feisty as all get out.

Oh yeah, don't mess with their "babies".

Thanks for posting and glad that you are enjoying the report!

I always put in my requests when I book and also when I do online check-in. For extra measure, I also call in about a week to ten days prior to our arrival just to make sure that my requests are still noted.

We are staying at CBR for the first time in September as well. Your trip report has me even more excited. Thanks for all the pics!

Yay! Welcome! I have a few more resort pictures and tips coming up in the installment I will be posting in just a little bit.

Excuse me Sir! Miss! Would you mind moving your feet?

The wake up call came early the next morning...at 7:10 a.m. to be exact which gave us 20 minutes to wipe the eye boogers from the corners of our eyes, throw on some clothes and pull the milk and tea from the refrigerator before Bell Services came for everything. ;) At 7:30 right on the dot, there was a knock on the door and a gentleman was there to collect our things. He had a list of pre-printed barcode stickers which he placed on each bag before putting them on the cart and told us that they’d scan them into the system. We thanked him and gave him his tip. The whole process took about 6/7 minutes. Not long at all. Quick and painless! :thumbsup2

Since we were already up, we might as well get ready to head to our first park of the trip! :hyper: Wait a minute, I forgot. I had to go check us out and then in. What a sight it would have been had I forgotten and we had gone straight to the park. I got ready first and left the men in the room while I took all of our magic bands and hit the promenade to the Custom House.

The sky was blue, the birds were chirping and I felt as if I had the entire resort all to myself. Except for those few runners who would pass by me every now and then. I’d look at them and think “Man, I need to start running again.” and then just keep walking. I’ve got a lot of self-motivation, huh? :rolleyes1 But, I do want to start getting out and walking more. Maybe one day. Yeah, and I’m going to win the lottery too. Just gotta buy that lottery ticket.

When I got to about the middle of the village of Barbados, I took the pathway through the buildings and came out right at the Barbados bus stop. From there, I used the crosswalk to cross the road and then on to the Custom House. It didn’t take long at all. There were a few people sitting outside with their luggage and they had long faces. Poor things were headed home. Those long faces would be our’s before we knew it. But they weren’t today! Our package was finally starting and we were hittin’ the parks! I did my best to contain my excitement so that I didn’t get nasty glares from those who were leaving. No need to cause any fuss or scuffle.

The check-out/check-in process took very little time and I was on my way back to our room. I was gone a total of 34 minutes. And, can you believe that I didn’t take a single picture going to or from the Custom House? I didn’t even take my camera or think about taking any with my phone. Oh well, there will be plenty of time for resort pictures later. :)

When I got back to the room, the guys were almost done getting ready. I stepped back outside to take a few pictures of our view to post on the CBR thread. Here’s our room number:

I was standing at the corner of the building so that you could see what we saw when looking out the window and slightly to the left:

This would be the view when looking to the right:

Remember when I said that we would take a right at the corner to get to the stairs beside the quiet pool? We walked from our room and turned left and walked to the end of the building where the stairs were. You can see how long/short our walk was:

As a matter of fact, you can see the very tip of the stairwell in this picture (it’s the same one that I posted above, I know but I wanted to post it again so you wouldn’t have to scroll up and down)

I took this picture while we were sitting by the Jamaica quiet pool one afternoon. That’s our building that we were looking at. The stairs are right there to our left:

This picture was taken standing at our room door and looking to my left. When we got to the end of the walkway, we turned left and the stairs to the parking lot/bus stop were right there.

This was also taken standing at our room door and looking at the building across from us:

Our room in Jamaica 43 was in a great location....quick walk to the quiet pool, easy access to the promenade and a short walk to the bus stop. I’d definitely request that same building/location again. :goodvibes

By the time that I had the pictures taken, the guys were ready to go. We took the left that I talked about above and we were soon walking down the stairs and across the parking lot to the bus stop. The Diser in me couldn’t help but sneak a picture of the construction area which was set up in the parking lot. I held the camera up and here you go:

Neat as a pin, just like most things Disney. See that metal building thingamabob there on the left? The workers did a lot of their cutting/sawing in there. (We saw them there during other walks to the bus stop.) I guess that Disney really was keeping things under wraps and out of the public eye.

**Continued in next post

Almost as soon as we got to the bus stop, an Epcot bus pulled up and we were on our way to our first park of the trip! It took us a grand total of 12 minutes to make the loop around the resort to pick up guests and pull into the Epcot parking lot. Gotta love a resort that’s so close to the parks. :thumbsup2

Because of the tier system, I could only make one “major” Fastpass selection which was okay for us because we had two days scheduled for Epcot. For guests who only have one Epcot day, it would totally suck to have to choose just one. I chose Soarin’ so that’s were we were off to.

Hunter was in charge of one camera and I of another. I chose to take a picture of Spaceship Earth:

Hunter stopped to take a picture of “some random people that I don’t know”.

Walking to The Land:

Picture of the “ribbons” hanging from the ceiling:

I thought that I had taken a picture of the wait time but I guess not. If I did, it was too blurry to keep and I deleted it. I do remember that it was pretty long even at that time of the morning. I'm thinking it was already an hour. I am not sure who took these next set of pictures and I’ll readily admit that I am too lazy to look at the properties to determine who did. ;) So, I present pictures taken in the Soarin’ line in no real semblance of order:

We were assigned Row 2 and I think that we were attempting to take a picture of our row number or possibly just a shoe picture.

It’s almost time to soar over California!

It was time for us to board our hang glider! This is obviously Hunter’s picture. Those aren’t my hairy legs :lmao::

I was able to snap this picture right before the castmember made the announcement to turn off all electronic devices and store everything in the compartment underneath our seats:

As the castmembers came around to check the lap restraints, a little girl in our row started saying that she wanted out and didn’t want to ride. Her parents tried to explain to her that it would be fun and it wasn’t scary but she was having none of that. The castmember was extremely nice and let them stand outside the door and told them that they could watch from where they were. I had no idea that was even possible and I don’t know how they could watch since they closed the doors behind them? :confused3

I still had my camera on my shoulder strap and as we took off, I thought why not attempt pictures. I shut the flash, put my finger in front of the red light that would come on and this is how they came out:

Excuse me Sir! Miss! Would you mind moving your feet?

It was yet another wonderful flight over the State of California! Love Soarin!

**Up next: Monkey puzzles and peanut butter trees? Who ever heard of such?

Im very relieved those hairy legs weren't yours. :rotfl2: Phew!

I really enjoy all your pictures of CBR! They are beautiful! You really do a nice job of capturing the bright festive colors and the unique angles of the buildings.

Soarin sounds like a great way to kick off your first park! :thumbsup2

We love soarin too...hate the tiers for FP+ though. We went at opening and did Soarin and then had a FP for TT a little bit later.

Glad the new room check in was painless for you and I enjoyed the pictures. :thumbsup2

You do such a great job with your descriptions of everything! Love your sense of humor! Last October, I stayed in Barbados in room 1313, corner room...It was the perfect location for my trip with 3 newbies. We stepped out of our door right to the quiet pool. The bus stop and promenade were both close too! Just love the resort!

Fun update, Lisa.

Wipe eye boogers from the corner of your eyes. :lmao::lmao::lmao: I love it.

I'm glad the luggage transfer went smoothly.

Nice pics of your room location. And that was pretty good time walking to the Custom House, checking out/in and then walking back!

I too am glad that was NOT your hairy leg.

Soarin' is a good choice (we're not fans of Test Track so we don't have to worry about that tiering thing).

I've never attempted to take pictures on Soarin'. Good for you doing it and they turned out pretty darn good.
