Since I am a newbie to cruises and spas (just went on my first spa weekend a few days ago) I thought this would be a great way to get tips and questions answered from more experienced cruisers.

I see the hours are 8am - 8pm except for when the ship is docked, does that mean my best bet to book a treatment on Day 4 (day at sea)?

Is there only one type of facial? I see only one on the list but when I look a little more I see another facial paired with a massage.

If you have any other spa tips that would be great as well. I can't remember, was the spa covered on last year's podcast?

Thanks!! :)

Sea days are actually the busiest days in the spa because everyone is on the ship. Time slots for the various treatments tend to fill very quickly. If you are looking to go to the spa on the day at sea you will need to book as soon as possible. Now if you are ok with going on a port day it is much easier to obtain a reservation. Folks tend to be off the ship enjoying the port. Unfortunately I don't know anything about facials. I did however check out the spa treatments being offered for our cruise and the selection seemed quite limited to me. I find land spas always have a wider selection than cruise ships, at least the ones that I've been on. If you don't see something you like online you can always check once onboard. Sometimes they offer specials, expecially on port days. And if there is a specific type of facial you are looking for you could always ask if they offer it.

I did also notice that not all the spa treatments available are offered on-line to book ahead of time. I know they have a new bamboo massage on the ship but did not see it when I booked on line.

They also usually offer discounts on port days because, as the PP stated most everyone is off enjoying the islands.

Thanks for the information. I thought I read the spa wasn't open on port days, I must've read wrong because that seems silly.

I need info on the spa too. I soo want a massage at Castaway Cay!!!

I had a Cabana Massage on Castaway Cay on PCC 1.0 and I think it was scheduled for about 10:00 - 10:30. While the massage was wonderful, the noise from other guests coming to Serenity Bay was a little much. My advice would be to get the earliest appointment possible, especially since they have now added cabanas close to the massage cabana area.

I've got to be honest ~ my experiences at the Vista Spa aboard the Wonder were underwhelming and I felt pressure to buy the products they used during my facial. The massage was not great either. I will probably try again on my next cruise, I know the technician can make or break a spa experience.

Does anyone know if the spa aboard the Dream is using the same product line as the Vista spa? I sure hope my next experience is better than the last two.
