Hello! We are looking to cruise in November this year, but we were wondering what the weather is typically like. We live in Texas, so we understand the some days hot, some days cold. Has anyone been in November? Also, is it pretty packed during that time?

Do they do anything special for birthdays like they do at Disney World and Disneyland? Our son will turn 6 on Nov. 13th and looking around that time.

Thanks in advance! :)

If you have the birthday noted on your reservation (and be sure to confirm with your servers the first night onboard), the birthday boy will be serenaded by the servers and get his own birthday dessert:

He'll also get a birthday button (but I'd suggest stopping by Guest Services earlier in the day to get one, so that the CMs onboard all have the opportunity to wish him a Happy Birthday).

How fun!! Thanks!

We have sailed twice in November and the weather was great. Very warm in the day and breezy at night. We always bring a sweater for evenings no matter what time of year we sail. (If you forget, there are always some for sale in the gift shop...:) ) You will enjoy the November Caribbean air!! :)

lol. Good to know about taking a sweater. You have sailed a lot! This will be our first and I'm a little worried about getting sea sick. Can you feel the rocking on these big ships?

you also MIGHT want to have a cover for dinner. Sometimes my DW gets cool in the MDR's and for sure in the Buena Vista Theater. Also if you want to take a stroll on deck it is cooler. It does get dark alot earlier in the month of November. If you are going in the middle to late November the ship will be decorated for Christmas.

We sailed in november and had excellent weather. Buy trip insurance as it's still hurricane season. We did have fairly rolling seas so Bonine tablets daily (non drowsy seasickness meds) were a must for us adults. Kids were fine. It's still a tropical vacation but yes a sweater for evening breeze is a good idea. Even A/C in dinner can be chilly for some. Even my Texan MIL got in the water at Castaway - but it was close to being to too chilly for her (she's a huge wimp).

We cruised in November 2013 out of Galveston and just last month out of PC. I thought the November cruise had rougher seas but I assume some of that had to do with the size of the ship and where we were going and coming from. The weather at Castaway was better in January too but that is hit or miss both times of year.

Our last cruise was the last week of November. Temps were pretty much the same as our previous cruise in Ferbruary. The water temp at Castaway was a bit cooler in November, but certainly bearable.
If you go at the end of Nov, the Christmas decorations are up. Our Christmas cards from that year were in front of the huge Christmas tree in the atrium.

We just went in November 2014. The weather was GREAT. Very warm, but not too warm. 70's and 80's. Our CC day was supposed to be stormy ALL day and we were super worried. But it ended up being perfect. The weather was so comfortable. The last night had stormy seas, but it wasn't horrible.

We cruised in early November - weather was fine for us. A little cool/breezy on the decks in the evening. Windy on CC day - took the ship several tries (and a couple of hours) before we were able to dock & water at CC was pretty cool for my liking (although DH swam - said it just took a few minutes to get used to the water then it was fine.)

We cruised early/mid November 2014 (8 - 14) for a Western itinerary and had amazing weather and calm seas. The weather was low to mid 80s every day, CC day was perfect, warm, but not too hot. This was actually the first Merry Christmastime cruise for last year (a little too early for me). We have also done the Western in late November (left the Saturday after Thanksgiving) and the weather was not as good. Rough seas, torrential rain/wind on Cozumel, very cloudy, windy and cold at CC.

However, even with less than perfect weather, we still had a fabulous time!

If you go around the birthday, I can only hope you have the great weather we did!

We cruised this Noember 2014 and had perfect weather. Never needed a jacket, no rain, calm waters. That being said the captain kept going on and on throughout the whole cruise about how perfect the weather was and how the previous cruises had horrible weather. Hurricane season is risky. Based on what he said I don't know if I would risk November again.

Hmm. So, we are from Texas and huge babies about the cold weather. Well, I am at least. ;) LOL!! We want to go for DS's birthday, but also don't want to risk the horrible weather or super cold. I wonder if we should just stick to the summer … ?

Thanks for all the tips and advice! We always do the insurance because hubby is military. Our first trip to Disney as a family it paid for itself! We had to change dates at the last minute.

The only thing that may cause some choppy waters is if a cold front makes it that far south. Yes, it is hurricane season, but not many storms or hurricanes form in November. September....yes that would be very active. As for the temps, you are correct. It may be warm and it may be cool, but typically I would say it is warm.

I have cruised mid to late November the last 2 years and have no complaints. Last year it did rain some in Cozumel and drizzled a bit one other day but nothing that impacted us much. Booked again for late November this year. The timing is perfect for us and we've had great days at the beach as well.
