Disney Cruise Lines Artist Choice for October is..

I have seen and now I need what a great pin and in my down fall category. On a sad note some of you know my DH bid on and won the DCL AC framed set at the EPC in Sept. for me. A few pins needed to be fixed in the frame so we left it with them and disney would ship when fixed . It arrived today via Fed-ex and I opened very excited but as I was opening I noticed a rattle as if something was loose and roaming. Much to my disappoinment two pins were roaming free in the frame and a third has been totality destroyed. The Mickey light up has been ripped right of the pin base. I am so disappointed. I have a call into event services and hope they are able to do something . I am so bummed Thanks for listening Brenda

Brenda... That is a bummer. I too won some Disney Cruise Pins at the auction. Mine were just shipped to me after we had a dispute on how they were sold. I got them today from Fed Ex as well. I hope all works out for you.

I'm going to chime in with some "newbie" questions here....

How exactly do the DCL artist choice pins work? Do they come out on the 1st of the month on the ship? Do they put them all out at once or over the course of the month so late month cruisers have a shot at it?

I'm planning on cruising on Feb 1st and hope to be able to get the Feb. Artist Choice pin, of course. Would there be a chance of getting the Jan. Artist Choice pin too if they haven't sold out of it?

Julie... The pins come out all at once... This year they are LE to 750 and rumor is that next year they will be 500. we will see what happens to that rumor. As for how they come out it is 375 for each ship (Wonder and Magic). The release dates are not anounced a head of time. and as for left overs... I have never heard of any left after any cruise they were released on...

Well of course!!! Towncrier's wife Sue got OFF of the Wonder on October 6. Just the luck I guess.

As Debbie mentioned, DW Sue just got off the Disney Wonder. She asked about the October Artist Choice pin and was told that they didn't know anything about it or when it would be released. It figures.

As far as leftovers, the January Artist Choice pin seemed to be available for every January sailing of the Disney Magic. They seemed to allocate a few to each sailing because they sold out on the January 19th cruise only to find some more for the January 26th sailing.

I have my fingers crossed for November. We're sailing on November 7th and hope to find some special pins then.
