Hi we went on a 4 night cruise in Feb this year ...it was fab!!! :cloud9: but not long enough so hoping to do a 7 night cruise in Feb2008.

You should log into the Disney Cruise Line section of this board as you will get the answer to pretty any question you might have :thumbsup2 I found it invaluable before we went .....plus you can get to 'meet up' with some of the people using this board that will be sailing on your trip too !

Hope you have a great time !!!! :teeth:

Hi Mandy

Thanks for posting your trip report threads theywere brilliant!!

Just one quick question which I have posted on the Cruise line forum but found there was a little confusion.

After DCL take your passports off you, what do you use for photo ID if you do not have a driving licence. I have even emailed DCL and they were vague with their answer. :confused3

Ask them to photostat (photocopy) yuor passport and this will be in your stateroom waiting for you so that you can use that to go on and off the ship - I had to do this for both my DH and I the first time we went on DCL but now we have our photo Driving licenses but DCL are used to having to photocopy your passports for you.

I have enjoyed both the Magic and The Wonder, the food, facilities, rooms and staff are truly magical, so enjoy!

After our first cruise, we applied for the ID driving licenses, but on our first trip they took our passports when we checked in, and later when we boarded the ship, they had sent photocopies of our passports to our stateroom. So when we re-boarded the ship at Nassau and Castaway Cay we showed them our room key and the passport photocopies

Hope that helps

will I need ID for the kids as well
we both have driving licenses with photo id

I have had 28 nights on the Disney Magic on three trips and another 11 night Med trip booked for July 2007, tell you something? great great great great.

They look after you they spoil you, the food is..well everywhere and good, the entertainment great, and the kids well they enjoy it, you cannot get them out of the clubs at night.

Negatives, bit expensive against other cruise lines, and thoose Loo's, warn everyone about the suction

No they don't need ID Jackie, but they will have their passports taken as well :)

Mandy :)

You will also need to take your credit card so you can open an onboard account - you cannot pay by cash on the ship, or at Castaway Cay.

Also for us Brits (ie Non US residents), you will be asked at the port to see your flight confirmation details ie. docuements that show when & how you are leaving the USA (I suppose it must be to ensure you don't jump ship :confused3 !).

You can now fill all these details in on-line (if you know your DCL confirmation number) which should speed up checking in

I will be definitely be doing a full trip report! And will happy to answer any questions anyone has when I get back! This DIS has been so useful it's only right I repay the favour!!!

Done a seven night Western and a seven night special western ( two stops at Casterway cay) They are great good ports of call nice cruises, so much to do, try ot get copies of the navigators in advance and read them to get an idea of whats on each day, honestly there isnt enough time in the day so plan in advance what your priorities are.
