This is probably a dumb question but... we are traveling with a party of 5. When on board, do we all use the same username/password, or do we each establish our own? I am thinking we all establish our own and it links the reservation somehow.

I haven't used the app on a ship since the recent app upgrade, but I suspect the on-board functionality hasn't changed. When you board, each passenger will enter their Name/Birthday/Stateroom information. From there you can set up the on-board chat between all of the different passengers in your group.

With the new app, prior to your cruise, you can see information about your reservation. Each passenger can create/use their own Disney account. If the reservation isn't associated with their account then the reservation number and passenger birthday will populate the account with the reservation.

Thank you!!

No login required onboard, as PP said. With name, stateroom and birthday, everyone will be able to get access. Only one guest can use a device at a time. Everyone in the same stateroom will be added to the chat automatically. You’ll also have a personal ID number that can be shared with guests staying in other staterooms.

Does this app allow you to message other Apple users back home?
Not the DCL app but iMessage will work both inside the ship and to land (text only, no multimedia). No need for a data package for iMessage.

Thanks! I’m not tech savvy so this may be a ridiculous question but can I use iMessage in airplane mode?

As long as the WiFi is on. You have to have WiFi connected to the ship’s network to use the app. You do not have to be logged into a package to do so.
