Disney Cruise Day in WDW - Help

Just logged in this morning and booked 7:15 bus to MK. don't know why it showed you as booked?

I'm on the Nov 11th cruise so different times available and different park closing. :)

Looking forward to the Oct cruises out of New York so we can get some current information.

I have to say thanks to the person who started this thread - we are quickly approaching our NYC-Castaway-WDW cruise and had received no instructions on how to deal with transportation to WDW for the port day. I got our bus reservation booked in the middle of the night after reading this threat. Thanks again!!!

I'm sailing on the 10/6 out of NYC for the 8 day Bahamas Cruise which includes the day at WDW. Hours on the 11th, the day we will be at WDW, is 9 to 9 with EMH at MK from 9 to 11. I booked a dinning reservation for dinner at 8:00 in MK. I thought we would get the extra hours until I read this thread. I emailed Disney cruise line to find out and below is the response:
9/5/17

I suppose DCL felt that, since the Port Canaveral day/WDW trip is, in essence, an excursion, they felt that people would know to look in the excursions offered for that day to work out plans.

I don't know that cruise passengers are eligible for EMH. Those are usually reserved for on-WDW-property guests, and I don't know that cruise passengers qualify.
When we did this cruise in 2012 we were eligible for morning EMH at MK. I don't know if they have changed this since then but we were on the 6:30 bus to MK and were in the park at 8:05.

Maybe a brain fart on my part....usually I'm pretty good at getting on top of things : )

To all of you sailing out of NYC on the Magic. Have fun. Just be aware that it may be rough the first day at sea. You will be sailing in the North Atlantic which is rougher than the the southern waters especially in teh fall and winter.
Have a blast!

We're looking at this cruise for early Nov 2018. I'm wondering how the weather on deck will be the first two sea days. Meaning will it be too cold and or windy to enjoy being out on deck. We cruised out of Galveston in the first week of January, and it was quite chilly and windy. Wondering if any pool days will be possible early November. Seas were rough too crossing the Gulf. Thanks for any input.

We're on the 1st of these cruises this year, (10/6), and I'll report back as soon as I can on how it all works. Our WDW day is 10/11, I was able to sign up for the first bus leaving PC that morning. We're planning on hitting all 4 parks that day, we have dinner reservations at Hollywood and Vine so we can have reserved seating for Fantasmic and are planning on heading back to port after that. Should be a fun and busy day!

Def keep us posted! We are not sailing until 2018 but I am curious as to how this will work!

P.S. Fantasmic is our absolute favorite; thanks for the reminder! Maybe we'd be better off not closing out our day at MK as I was first thinking... :) :smickey:

We're on the 10/14 sailing and I have the dessert party booked in MK mainly to avoid the need to scope out a spot to watch HEA. Has anyone received confirmation that buses will run after park closing? The email I received said that they'll run up until regular park closing. MK closes at 9 (except for EMH), when HEA begins. I'm hoping I'll be able to catch a bus back around 10, but if the last one leaves at 9, I'll be bummed.

This is a dumb question, bc we've never taken advantage of EMH, but how would they know you are not a resort guest? I understand for getting into parks for Early Morning but how would EMH after you're already in the park in the evenings work? We won't have magic bands, just KTTW cards. I understand that FP+s won't work but what about just hanging around and watching fireworks? I saw that email as well about buses running up until regular park closing, so maybe that will take care of itself if the last bus is at 9pm.

I don't think you can get on the rides without the reservation/magic band during EMH. Some people do rent a room for the day so they can spend the afternoon with the kids in a resort pool. They would be able to use the EMH, if they can make it back to port in time.

That's what I kind of assumed; Magic Bands (or in our case KTTW cards) won't work for rides. But so fireworks and parades, maybe? I know MNSSHP you get a wristband. Just wondering about EMH if you're already there for fireworks. I myself think I'd be leaving at 9 just bc we'll be exhausted and the bus back to PC takes 90 min (or more I am sure).

I may be wrong, but I don't think staying for fireworks counts as being there for EMH. I believe it's the last event of the regular park hours, so if you were in line for a ride at 9pm, you'd get on, but you can't get in line after 9pm.

Okay; I always heard of people trying to make dinner or dessert reservations for the fireworks or shows if they weren't staying on property but maybe that was just a coincidence for a good seat. I think they stopped letting people do that for breakfast at Cinderella's castle bc they caught on. lol

This is a great thread, we are considering the 11/2018 sailing next year and this information is really helpful! I do know a special excursion is offered where you get on the top rides at each park but it's pretty pricey, but would be so much fun!

Not worried it can't be like the winter run of the johnny and Clara Smallwood from Cape Breton to Newfoundland in winter. They chain your car down and you get six feet of ice on the bow in salt water :) in fifteen feet waves. I've actually weathered a storm out in the mid Atlantic on queen Mary 2 again off newfoundland that featured quite a bit of puke and spilled drinks
