Question for those who have already had their wedding/vow renewal... I went dress shopping this weekend and the one I like the most has a corset back. We aren't having any guests at our vow renewal and I had figured we would get ready separately. So my question is, do you think I will be able to find someone to help me do up my dress? I'm figuring if I had a female planner I could maybe ask her. Or maybe put my dress on in the salon after getting my hair done and get help from someone there? Do you guys think I could make something work or should I stick with a dress that I can do up myself?

i would like to know this aswell as we are geting married on the ship but it is just the 2 of us also is there anybody like the wedding planner that could video the ceremony for us using our video camera?

Lori, The Photographer met us at the wedding site on Castaway Cay. they stayed through the cake cutting then we took photos around the ship for about 30 - 40 minutes. Thats all. THEN we had to pick all of our prints the last day. Spent 3 hours of our cruise trying to pick what prints we want. It sucked. LOL I do hear they are kicking up the photos for the brides.

Photography is the one thing I wish I could redo. I would take a photographer with me in a heart beat!

Thanks Lisa!

I will let you know if there have been any changes!!!! :goodvibes

does any one have an pictures of meridian patio as we want to get married there but there arent any pictures of it to see what it looks like
it is on the disney dream and is the outside option on the ship to get married
has anyone else got married on the meridian patio on the disney dream?

I am sure that if you had a male planner, he would be able to find a female officer or concierge that would be more than willing to help you with your dress. There were several people helping our planner out and I know there are several female officers that are on the ship.

I just learned how to post a picture!:yay: Here is a picture of me and my dress. My sister is on the left and my cousin on the right. These are the bridesmaid dresses as well! Yayy! For finally learning to post a picture! I don’t like the necklace though. Any ideas on what would look good? :confused3 This was a sample from Davids Bridal. The one i order is way more poofy and fits better! but it gives y'all an idea

First, congratulations! I planned our 25th anniversary vow renewal, just hubby and I. I did join our dis meet thread for our cruise though and made friends through that. One came to help me get ready and another took photos for me. We had no 'real' guests but did have four new friends share in our day. We've become REAL friends with two of them and just earlier this month visited one friend we made that day when we were in Disney.

Wishing you the best and I'm sure there will be someone who can help.

I feel like I really need to get on the ball! Everyone's got pictures up and I haven't done any. Ok, so no dress pictures, but I should hopefully have flowers/boutonnieres pics up by the end of the weekend. I was just in another (very chaotic) wedding last weekend, so I'm back at it for mine now-finally! And DF will be here next week to finalize everything and sign all the paperwork for Shanda!!!

Hi everyone! I just started a PJ this week and I've got four posts up already! I got inspired today by this page to include my wedding gown photos, so check those out while you're there! My page is very heavily laden with photos to go along with the descriptive text and stories! I'm excited to keep you up to date with all of my wedding planning!

Enjoy! popcorn::

We weren't planning on bringing our own photographer anyway, but I just got an email from Disney basically warning me off it. They said:

You are welcome to have your own photographer but he/she is only permitted to take photos at your wedding because of our exclusive contract with Image Photo Services. At no time will your photographer be allowed to take photos of characters or use the Disney Cruise Line backdrops for photos. Photography in public areas of the ship are exclusively reserved for our onboard photographers.

It doesn't seem like anyone here has ever had an issue, though, so I'm assuming they're just blowing smoke to get you to use their photographer. But it did make me curious, so I figured I'd ask if anyone who brought their own photographer encountered any problems getting the shots they wanted.

I would never think about them allowing a photographer to use their backdrops..but really..characters?? how would they know your photographer isn't a friend.

Mikkel is a personal friend of mine and a photographer..they can't stop that...I had about 4 photographers with professional camera including a video camera that was a super hi-def professional camera...they didn't say anything other than the Captain laughing at us for being "paparazzi"

Yah, that seems to be how things went for everyone here based on what I've read. I'm also curious how they could tell a paying guest they couldn't take pictures in public areas on the ship :confused3 Part of me wishes I could bring my own photographer just because she basically told me not to ;)

I have never seen that wording before and I was even told to have my photographer go to my meeting with the coordinator so he would know how everything was going to play out. I never would even consider having my photographer use any of the backdrops or take the place of the photographer in the character lines.

We walked around after the wedding and took pictures all over the ship. It will be terrible if they force people to use only Disney Photography and not let you walk around the ship. I am sure this is coming from Image Photo Services and the contract they have. I am sure more people would use them if they got better reviews. ;) Step it up Image Photo Services and make everyone happy instead of just hit or miss!

Hi guys. I'm a first time poster, but a long time follower of these boards. Just wanted to stop by to say that we just got married on Castaway Cay on November 29, 2011. We brought along our own photographers, Jennifer and Glen Werneth (whom I highly recommend, btw) and didn't have any issues getting the shots we wanted.

Our wedding planner was with us while we were taking photos and encouraged us to get pictures with the characters on our way back to the ship; we also took pictures on the water bikes and boats on the shore. They were also at our cake cutting ceremony, and we were encouraged to take pictures around the ship afterwards without any conflict.

Congratulations!!!

Your experience seems to be the norm. While it doesn't actually affect me, I did send back an email asking for clarification that a paying guest would not be allowed to take pictures in public spaces on the ship. We'll see what she says :)

Also wanted to add that this email came from someone named Karen who is listed as a wedding coordinator. I have no idea who this is, so maybe she doesn't know what she's talking about.

One more thing... :)

I had requested that the small pink orchids in the Orchid & Rose bouquet be removed and red roses be used to fill in where needed. I was told no. Interesting, since I know other brides have been able to have more or less of a specific type of flower in their bouquet. I asked what the reasoning was and if it was a cost issue, but I got Shanda's out of office reply.

We called to see if she was available for ours but she was already booked. I love the way her photos look. Im sure yours will be awesome.

Who sent you this message? I was never told that we couldnt photograph in public spaces. As someone else posted it is ridiculous to think that they could tell a paying passenger that they are not allowed to take photos.
