Ohhh, I forgot about the picture. We didn't get robes! Boo Hiss! Actually it is fine since neither Geoff nor I are robe people (I would have liked the slippers!)...but they would have been nice to give away to people who were! LOL Maybe they are cleaning out the closets at DFTW!! :rotfl: LOL

Lisa, you did get the jackpot! We saved our champagne for our 1 year anniversary too. The chocolate strawberries we took out with us that night and shared since we were stuffed from dinner.

Yes, I was shocked at all that they left for us...the bathrobes are very nice and heavy....they were in the gift shop for 120/each.

Now that I think about it we also did a "wedding dinner" at Palo in their private room (thanks for giving me the guidance on that Lisa!) It was wonderful and they have a window that is filled with smoke...the chef had it cleared and the entire kitchen staff was there waving at us! It was quite interesting, we could see the kitchen and all!

They also allowed my mother to decorate Palo a bit with a sign that said Mr. and Mrs. Scott as well as special napkins!

yeah..we lucked out the Marco was the Palo manager on our cruise. He was our groups server back in 2005 and he remembered us.
He let me and my bridesmaids come in a few hours before the ceremony and put our floral up and even took our place cards and set it up when they put out the table settings.
That is one of my favorite memories..walking into Palo and having the restaurant greet us with applause and entering into the private room!

We had a bottle of champagne and a bottle of cider (for apologies), a free 8x10 photo, the cake server set, chocolate covered strawberries and more champagne (the night of the wedding).

Sent to the house after the cruise was a picnic set, two big beach towels and a building the Disney Dream book (for more apologies).

Omg we got the robes too but I didn't realize we could take them home!!!! I would have if I knew that....we got everything else mentioned by Lisa except for the fruit basket :(

Wonder if I call if they would send those robes to me??? Hmmmmm

I've been stalking from afar lately, and keep forgetting to post :scared1:

I like the new bouquet options, to me, the more options, the better! Unfortunately, I think I'm going to stick with the Red, Hot Pink, and Ivory roses that I was already planning on getting! After reviewing the new options, I went to Hobby Lobby and got silk roses for my MOH, BM, and moms, dads... I photographed them and they look real in pictures! What a relief! I just can't justify spending as much as they charge for additional floral!!!

The cakes are very plain, very boring. The 'under the sea' cake is pretty, but my theme and colors are SO not beachy! I'll probably go with the Mickey Silhouette cake, though I wish they'd pipe in some icing around the circles to make it blend in better with the cake- I could get a couple cookie cutters and cut/paste fondant, too! I want something special! Oh well, I'm not a huge cake person, it's not a huge deal to me... (Nor are the cake servers, as I've noticed discussions in the past... I just don't feel like I'd reuse them, though I'm all for getting as much free stuff as possible!)

Now that everyone's telling me about all these gifts, I'm going to be very disappointed if I don't get them all! :rotfl: I've given 3.5 years of service to Disney and it'd be nice to feel some appreciation back! I love that everybody is saving their bottle of Fairytale Cuvee for their 1 year anniversary! I'm just so jaded by living/working in orlando, that I know all the places on property that I can buy that wine for about $20

I went "back home" to the chicago area for a week over thanksgiving and bought my wedding gown, the veil, the tiara, the jewelry... also, my legal ceremony dress, and another great "little white dress" maybe to be used on the last night or at Palo. Now I get a few months of shoe shopping to find some knockouts! I also met with our hair dresser/ makeup artist who we're bringing along with us! Very exciting! Getting all of these things checked off the list is a great relief, and makes it feel so much more real! 285 days for me and my DF! :lovestruc

I hope everyone is doing well and that you're all as excited for your weddings and VR's as I am! I swear I'll start a PJ soon, I just need to find a day off, which is going to be RARE until Christmas and the New Year have passed! I guess that comes with the territory! My mom, fiance, and I are taking a "research" 4-day Dream cruise at the end of January because he's never sailed, and we've never been on the Dream! I have to scope out all of those beautiful places for photos so I can share that with the photographers we're bringing aboard! Have a MAGICAL week, everybody!!! Gotta get ready for work!

Wait, are we sure they were complimentary? I've been on cruises before where they provide robes, but you have to pay to take them. I'm not a vacation club or castaway cay club member so I wouldn't want to take the robes only to find $240 charged to me later!

Welcome Jillie Bean! I can't wait to read your PJ! I still have not started one either but I sure enjoy reading everyone's.

Our's were in a red tote bag and wrapped in cellophane with a note. I was getting ready for dinner when our onboard coordinator brought them to the room..I burst into tears when I saw them...the note said something like "congrats on your wedding" or something like that..they also were embroidered with Disney Fairy Tale Wedding and the DCL logo
They were a gift

I was confused at first too b/c they were hanging up with the slippers in our wardrobe area. I asked a few of my guests who booked the same room if they had them and they said no so yes, they were left there for us. They even exchanged mine for a bigger size as I like mine to be really roomy. It was great to have especially when getting ready for the wedding in the AM!

I would definitely call and ask for them Lisa...they are very nice...the slippers not so much but the robe is VERY nice!

The fruit basket was a nice touch but seriously...so much food!!! lol

Lisa,

I felt the same way about the fruit basket and the strawberries...there wasn't a single time I was hungry that I wanted any of the fruit and the fruit at breakfast was SO good. (at Cabanas) It was a nice touch. And like I said, we brought the strawberries to 687 that night and shared them. I ate one because I felt I should at least taste them and it was very good!

I am glad to hear you say the slippers weren't that great...now I don't feel so bad. :)

Hi All! I know I didn't really post much through the whole planning process but I wanted to write a little bit about our experience!

We got married on December 2nd, 2011 on the Dream in the Outlook. The ship is amazing and the staff was great! Tracy was our wedding coordinator. Our photographer was Vischal (not sure about the spelling).

In the end everything was great! but there were a few things that I would love to have gone differently.

The most disappointing was the photography. There are about 2 pictures of me and my family and about 100 of my husband's (so weird to say that!) family. Also, he wasn't very creative and we came up with a bunch of the shots ourselves. None of the pictures are all that breathtaking- our family and friends took better.

During the ceremony I wish Tracy would've provided more direction. We stood their a couple times not knowing what was going to go on next. That was sort of freaking me out of course...but i'm not sure anyone else noticed.

My hairstylist was the best! I will find out his name because I loveddd him! My flowers were soooo pretty! And! my hairstylist said they do have people that do makeup in the spa so call and ask at the spa if you want to have your make up done....everyone told me there wasn't someone there!

For gifts we got the disney fairytale weddings bag and towels, two bottles of champagne, cake server, chocolate covered strawberries, a picture frame signed by all the characters, a free 8x10, anddd that's all i can think of right now. We had robes in our closet and now i'm sort of sad I didn't ask if they were to keep! I just thought they were for the room!

If anyone is contemplating the cruise wedding i would definitely recommend it. Everyone who went had a blast and the ship is amazing!

I'm still trying to figure out how to post pictures but I will soon!

Congratulations!!! I can't wait to see pictures!! We are having a vow renewal on the Fantasy in June. Photography is my biggest concern. Glad everything went well for the most part.

I'm concerned about photography as well. I didn't want to bring anyone with us cause it was going to cost double what it would cost me and my DF to go. I'm huge into pictures and now I'm starting to get pretty worried that they wont be any good. :confused3 I guess I can just hope for the best and pray that my friends and family attending will get some killer shots incase Disney Photography doesnt :)

We also can't afford to bring anyone with us (being a 7 night cruise, the room cost would be a lot higher, also being Alaska I would have to do a lot more work to find someone!), AND we aren't having any guests who can take pictures for us :( So I'm just going to hope really, really hard that we get a good photographer. I know I've seen some amazing pictures from DCL photographers so it seems really hit or miss. Fingers crossed we get a hit ;)

I agree about the hit or miss..it seems that some are really good and some..not so much. But, I hear that Disney Photography on land is the same way.

As for the makeup in the spa..they had someone there to do it on my cruise but, due to the rotation of staff contract, you can't COUNT on someone there to do it. They don't have a regular "make up artist" on each cruise. Disney contracts the Spa services to a company.

I thought Disney photography did a good job shooting our wedding, but I really recommend you look at pictures from past brides to get an idea of the shots you want. I literally directed the photographer into the shots I wanted.

We hired a very expensive photographer to come with us but we think it is worth the cost. I can not risk being unhappy with photos from a day in our lives that can not be repeated.
