I agree! I can’t wait to hear all about it! I’m starting to get nervous because I feel like I haven’t really done anything for our wedding in April... I'm not even sure where to start LOL :D I have all my stuff from Shanda but other than that I'm at a loss. I'm normally pretty creative but for some reason I'm not sure where to start.

I had the opposite problem flawlessdreams. I actually started in January, but now I've run out of stuff to keep me busy! Go to Michael's or some craft store in your area and I bet those creative juices will start flowing!!

Hey guys im new to the board ive lurked over the last weekend and learned a lot. Ill start out by saying i am a guy. My fiance and i booked our wedding for may 6th of 2012 on the dream. W have been in contact with shanda. My biggest question is how many of you have used an on board photographer and if so have you posted any pictures? I am very picky when it comes to pictures and i am willing to spend the money to bring a photographer with me. In your experience would this be worth the cost?

Welcome and congrats!!!! I just posted pictures taken by the onboard photographer. We felt that they were just fine. Matter a fact we had a hard time cutting it down to 25 as we could only afford the smallest package :(. Now if you are super picky then you might be better off bringing your own. I did feel like everything was rushed to get them done within the hour and I would suggest to purchase the extra time if you decide to pick the onboard photographer.

I have nothing but good things to say about Andy (the coordinator) and Leonardo (photographer). They were both very accommodating and awesome!!!!

Happy planning :)

The nice thing about getting married on DcL is that there is much to do unless you want to do extra things for your guests. And they wouldn't know either way. I stressed so much over all the welcome bags, programs, etc that it was not worth it IMO. I felt my guests had a good time as the cruise was a vacation for them!!!!!

I did put together a small family gift for each group. I made a homemade picture frame, a magnet that I got for free off of vista print, a small white board (for notes), package of Kleenex, and a heartfelt thanks for joining us!!!

Good luck and don't stress!

So happy to hear this since we plan on using the onbaord photographer for our vow renewal. We will be on the Fantasy but hopefully the photographer will be good.

Goofy, I looked through your thread but did not see any wedding photos. Where are they located?

Congrats!!! Go back a page on this thread to see some of them. We're bringing our own photographer (a family friend) who also did our engagement pics.

Hi everyone!! I just caught up with all the post. All this, wedding stuff was getting overwhelming so I pushed it to the side BUT I'm back at it. :) so I'm really thinking of not doing the Disney package but I couldn't find the price difference (including lodging) for using an outside vendor. Can someone give me some insight? My DF has epilepsy and doesn't really do pictures so I don't wanna spend that much $$ but the thought of having to take time out of the cruise to select pictures isn't appealing.

Do you have any friends or family that are good at taking pictures? I have a family friend who is a photographer who's doing our official pictures and another friend who's just awesome at taking pictures doing extras. Some of the ladies on here have found photographers that will do the photos just for the price of the cruise and to be able to add it to their portfolio.

If you're not interested in a lot of photos, you could just buy everyone a disposable camera to take pics during the ceremony and reception and with enough light, you shouldn't really need a flash.

I hope this helps. I've heard a lot about the Disney pictures taking a long time to go through not to mention it's really expensive. I tried to find the prices for you, but I think I may have thrown them out since I'm not doing that.

I just posted a ton of wedding photos in my planning journal. The majority of them were taken by the wedding photographer from the Dream.

We thought he did a nice job.

I am going to meet with a photographer that is willing to go on the cruise with us. He and his wife work as a team. They generally run about $400 per hour. However the work they do is amazing. I will post on here afterwards to let you know how much a photo album and prints cost from him.

Also my fiance spoke with Shanda and she told us to hold off on making any selections on wedding cake design etc.. because they will be getting a new list of options for 2012. We are getting married in May of 2012 so we are waiting to see what new options they get. If there is anything else you guys can think of i have all of the paperwork saved on the computer so i should be able to find the answer quickly

I wonder why she hasn't mentioned that. We're having our VR in May, too. That's ok. As long as the changes are for the better, I'm excited :thumbsup2

Just had a thought, though... I wonder if they're changing the options for the new ships but not for the Wonder and Magic? Which ship are you getting married on?

We paid $350 for 20, 5x7 & 5, 8x10's, plus the use of their photographer for a hour. It took us about 2 hours to decide on those.

We will be on the Dream. Shanda said they will be getting new bouquets and other things for 2012.
