We will be on the Dream. Shanda said they will be getting new bouquets and other things for 2012.

Ooo, this is exciting! I'm really crossing my fingers for some better/more options, maybe some ceremony decor?? Can't wait to hear about these changes!

Also my fiance really liked the bouqet on the website for disney cruise weddings the white one. Apparently that is a new option but has not yet made it onto the list.

I'm SO stinkin' excited about the *new* bouquets and cake design! :woohoo: Naturally, I had to e-mail Shanda ASAP to ask her for more details and for an estimate of when we'd get our updated pdf files/ paperwork to fill out. I'm really hoping they update the cake topper because I don't like it too much :sad2: I can't wait to see what our new options are!!

Did Shanda say when the new stuff is supposed to be going into effect? She sent me a new package about 2 weeks ago and everything in that was the same except that they added a smaller bouquet for sale and the cake flavors are different but now the design. (The packet said 2011 on it, but I asked about our April wedding.) She never mentioned holding off on decisions.

JBeanBunny- Have you looked at getting your own topper from somewhere else? I agree that the one they give you is not that great. I know you can bring your own as long as it's within certain size limits. FMIL bought us the Lenox Cinderella/Prince Charming one in April and although its over the size limit Shanda said its gorgeous on the cake and we'll love it!

The problem really WAS finding one in the weight and size limit. Less than a pound and smaller than 6" in diameter. Besides... Lenox is expensive! That Cinderella/Charming figurine is at least $200! I love it, but I'd rather buy a $200 veil or spend $200 in spa treatments or something fun like that. There's an adorable bride & groom (wearing Mickey/Minnie ears!) Precious Moments figure, but the boy's a blonde and my DF has black hair! I can't exactly find an Aladdin & Aurora figurine  But, I have found a few that are definitely better than the one DCL gives you. I work at WDW, so it's not hard to find time to search all the shops (and use my holiday discount!) And who knows! If they update the cake topper, maybe I won't have to continue my search! I'm dying to know what the new options are!

I have no idea when they will go into effect maybe you got the new one...

Also we met with our photographers today. They are a husband and wife team. They take amazing photographs. I know two couples that have used them in the past and in fact many of the shots from both of the weddings are on the businesses website.

They are pricey but the one thing that you will always have after the wedding are the photos so I think it is worth the price. They charge $400 per hour with an eight our minimum for destination weddings. They also make absolutely amazing hand crafted wedding albums that go along with some of the package deals they offer. If you have any questions about the photographer ask away.

The package we bought costs $4,000 and then we also have to pay for the cruise. So we are in for $5,500 for the photographers.

Hi Lexis,
Glad you found a photographer that you're excited to work with. :goodvibes It can be a long search to find just the right person.... I went through a similar search a few months ago. Although Disney photographers have done a beautiful job with many weddings, especially those that have occurred lately, it's nice to have the security of an external wedding photographer coming along. Are you having engagement photos taken with your photographers as well?

Yes we are getting engagement photos as well. That was a tough decision for us because we have been engaged for 2 years. I have seen some of the disney photos and they are nice but we wanted a very specific style. We are getting married on nassau day for the cruise and our photographers have done a lot of shoots on the island so they had great suggestions on places we could go and showed us a lot of examples. We are planning on going to the cloisters and a few of the beaches also the versailles gardens. This was a huge selling point since getting a disney photographer to go with us would be difficult and lack the experience in those locations.

Yeah, FMIL went a little overboard with the topper, but I think she got it at a huge discount. I saw the Precious Moments one! It's so cute and my DF and I are both blonde and it was the ONLY thing I found that had 2 blondes on it. So I guess I have the opposite problem since Prince Charming's brunette ;) I'm sure you'll find something awesome at Disney since you work there. And I'm sure you know all the best spots to look! My personal favorite stores are the Christmas stores at MK and Downtown Disney...:santa:

I emailed Shanda about it and her response was "There will be some new updates to share with you very soon. I will pass them along to you as soon as they are announced." Not exactly as detailed as I was hoping for, but I'm going to hold off on going through the packet she sent us. I hope they're going to have more cake options!!!

Thanks! I emailed her just before I saw your response so I'll let you know what I hear too and we can compare! I'm a little excited and a little frustrated about this though. DF lives in Spain and so doing all the planning long distance has been hard enough. He'll be here for 2 weeks for Christmas, so I need to get everything filled out and done then! Poor Shanda, she's bound to figure out where we're all sharing our info soon. I'm sure after seeing the posts she's been bombarded with emails! :surfweb:

I'm so excited about the possibility of having some new options for 2012 weddings!! :goodvibes I wonder what they will be.... Cake and flower options would be wicked. Something to look forward to hearing about in the next few months! Thanks for the intel, Ladies!!

Funny that is exactly what my DF wants.

OK so I couldn't have much of a PJ before my DCL wedding, but I plan on a full TR. Here are a couple teaser pictures
