What kind of dresses and shoes do most girls pick? And what do the guys wear? I'm afraid it's going to be very hot and very windy over the open water. I won a new dress from a LA designer, and its very tropical and airy, but will I need a shawl or something on board?

I am going with your traditional dress, chapel train and all but DF will be in a Hawaiian silk shirt, sandals and Khakis....I am having the CC wedding and will be barefoot as I go down the aisle but I did buy cute little sandals for on the ship! The ceremony won't be that long in my opinion and then you will have your reception (ie cake/champagne) indoors so I wanted to get a little bit more dressed up...esp. for photos!

Oooh fun! I would love to go barefoot on the beach, but we are getting hitched onboard, so I was afraid to go with a train. I def like the vibe of Hawaiian shirts and sandals tho! I'll have to try and talk my DF into that!

Yes, the chapel train is much shorter so I am going to have it bustled for the wedding and then let it out after first dances for pics :)

Do you have room for a newbie?!?

I've been lurking here for a while now but have been unable to post as my proposal to my boyfriend has been an 8 month secret!!

So, if you want to see the proposal, it's HERE

Just to explain, I belong to another Disney Planning website in the UK and every year, I help to arrange a our annual Meet with approx 200 people attending. At my 40th birthday party last Saturday night, I pretended that I needed to test a game on a large group of people in readiness for next years Meet. Of course, it was all a ruse to propose to Mick ... but see what you think.

My plan, if you can call it that at such an early stage is to get married in 2015 on CC as I think you can have more people attend with you there rather than on the ship? If someone could confirm that for me, I'd be really grateful.

Obviously, I can't do much planning yet as it's so far away, but I'll still enjoy hearing about your weddings/VRs in the mean time!

So my only question for now (even though I've read this thread front to back), is how many people can they accommodate at a CC wedding please?
Thanks :thumbsup2

What a fantastic idea for a proposal. I hope you have a lot of fun in your planning.

Corinna

I have a traditional dress but I'm having the train cut off all together. I have blue flip flops as shoes. Check out my planning journal for pics of the dress.

My fiance is going with khaki or white pants and a button down white shirt (feels Hawaiian-esque). He is wearing dressy tennis shoes with it.

I love the dress! It's alot like the dress I had originally picked out, but I was given a new designer destination dress on a makeover show, so the old one got veto'd. I'm definitely going to need a sweet pair of flipflops!

Did anyone buy a shrug or bolero or some sort of jacket? I'm not sure if the onboard cake cutting and reception is indoors or out. I know Palo would be indoors (unless they have outdoor seating?) and I wanted to wear my dress as much as I can. Not to mention if the photographers come to dinner for pictures. I've seen some very cute ones on Etsy, or I am possibly going to knit my own.

And veils? Are any of you going to wear full veils? I'm have a custom birdcage veil with yellow flower made to match my tropical bouquet. I'm still a little worried about how windy it will be on deck. Wearing my hair down might prove to be a problem if it's anything like the wind in the Valley.

Congrats! When is your wedding? What ship?

My only advice is to research, and enjoy the process. I might have more advice after September. :)

I have been searching for the last few days but I'm having no luck...Does anyone have picture of all the items included in the wedding photography package? For example the scrapbooks and albums. I would love to see what they look like. Thank you in advance for your help!!

I have a veil AND a tiara, I can't make up my mind! I am actually going to borrow the veil from a previous dis bride, I LOVED her veil and now I have my something borrowed...

The tiara my mother gave to me and I am thinking of using it for our Magic Kingdom shoot :)

Wedding date is April 19,2012 We are going to be married on the Dream, we wanted Castaway but someone had already booked it. Shanda emailed me some pictures and I was fine with the on board ceremony. We really wanted to take some pictures by the water and on the beach at Castaway. Does anyone know if we buy the extra time would they take us around on the next day and take pictures too or is it just reserved for that Castaway booking that day?

Welcome and congratulations on your engagement!

My wedding will be a month after yours, and I'm trying to pace myself with all the planning (especially since we've had the date reserved since November). Everyone on the boards is so friendly and helpful. Good luck with planning.

When I booked they said only the bride and groom on Castaway could have pics so I booked the island as I also wanted the beach shots :) If you are flexible on the day maybe try to get a CC wedding?

The planning packet I got right away but you don't turn it in until you are paid in full.

I am bringing my own photographer she is a diser on here and is wonderful! It is costing me the same as if I went with Disney and her work is amazing so I feel much calmer knowing who I am working with, just a suggestion ;)

We are at 123 days, and we are getting SO excited! I pay (in full) July 11th and will be booking the brunch for my wedding party instead of taking the dinner at Palo for my fiance and I. We did not want to be taken out of our dinner rotation and this way we pay for each person to have an upgraded brunch while at sea!!!!

Congrats again
