I think you'll find that your dress really doesn't even get that dirty....unless you are planning a Castaway ceremony??

Good to know. I plan on having the train cut off of the dress so hopefully that will help. (we decided against the MK photos which would be the only reason I would have kept it). So I'm not too worried even with the Castaway ceremony.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Separate but related.

I just sent the email to cancel the MK/Epcot photos which makes me a little sad. Partially for financial reasons (well maybe mainly for financial reasons whether or not I want to admit it).

I would much rather have the photo cd of the actual wedding.... I had to decide what I really wanted and its photos of the actual day. I am okay with the decision, but may need :grouphug:

aww im so sorry to hear about your cancellation with the MK photo shoot :grouphug:. But i believe you made the right choice! all though MK photos are beautiful, they won't capture the exact moment that mean the most to you! I plan on using the ship/island since its beautiful as it is all by itself. :flower3:

funny story; i had a dream that i trashed the dress aqua duck style!! :woohoo::rotfl: that would be hilarious but i could never trash my dress :bride:

I am actually doing the MK shoot and they said for another 300 I can trash the dress at one of the water parks! My budget keeps going up and up! lol

Are you brides planing to wear you dress the whole time? im getting married on the onboard ceremony and it also just happens to be pirate night.. this should be interesting  pirate:

I bought 2 dresses at David's Bridal during their big sale event. My ceremony gown was on clearance for $299, so I sprung for an evening dress style wedding gown that was only $99!!! I just couldn't pass up the deal! The ceremony gown is the princessey ball-gown style, and the other one I thought might be more comfortable for wearing to dinner and around the ship. I plan on wearing my tiara the whole time :-)

Since our onboard wedding is scheduled for 12:30, we'll probably hit the pool and or spa before dinner, so I thought it would be nice to change into a fresh wedding dress :thumbsup2:

Hi all! I have a few questions if any one could help! We just recently decided to do a Disney Cruise wedding instead of our original big wedding...the stress level has gone way down and I am actually excited instead of freaking out! We're getting married on the Dec 1st sailing of the Dream & we're doing an onboard ceremony :)

So I'm falling behind on the invitations- but any advice on the reply cards? I have no idea how to word them!

Dream Brides- how was the cake & champagne reception? and were you able to all have dinner afterward together? What about after dinner? Dancing?

How did you have your guests book their cruise? Did you block off rooms (if that's possible) or did you just send them to the website??

Thanks for any help!

HI! We had a lot of the same questions and the group on here was great in coming up with suggestions.

We did work with a travel agent to help coordinate a lot fo the things on the ship. She was as helpful as Shanda (our Disney planner) is! She has been able to do things that Shanda said she MIGHT be able to do, like book a room for a small reception/happy hour for us. She also has linked all the reservations together and has helped with communication to the group. We did block some rooms, and that helped a lot, but they can only hold them without payment for so long.

On our reply cards, we had the normal " We look forward to celebrating with you" and an added line under "accepts" with a space for "reservation number"

"WE LOOK FORWARD TO CELEBRATING WITH YOU

PLEASE REPLY BY JUNE 9, 2011

There were a couple Mickey heads under the reply by date that didnt copy so well.

We created a blog with ALL the information on it. And sent them all there.
Our Save The Date is there, as well as all the travel agent info and Ive kept it up with Dream information and hotel information for the night before. MOST of which I've gotten from here, and CruiseCritic.com

If you want to take a peek, http://bdps2011.blogspot.com/ is the blog..

Hope that helps!

How exciting! When are you sailing? I'm getting married on Castaway Cay during the May 17, 2012, 3-night sailing. We're finally less than a year away, and I'm so excited about planning things.

Thanks so much everyone!!!!
We are so excited!
We didn't have the wedding we wanted the first time,,we have been together 14 years, and married 4,,,so this VR will be very special for us,because it will be with all of our best friends, family, and be just what we want!

My main question, was the cake...we picked the classic round, but, its so basic and white,,and we really would like to add some color,,,just maybe pink roses on the cake, rather then white...I wasnt sure if they could do that,,,but I seen a TR from a DCL bride, and she had green flowers on her cake,,it wasnt an upgraded cake or anything,,so,I thought it would be possible, but,I keep reading on here that you cant change anything.....anyone know for sure?

Also,,,does anyone know,if they offer the molded chocolate favors on board,or if this is something we have to buy and bring aboard?

Thanks for any help! I am so very excited!! less then a year now =)

I can't help you with the favours, but I know for sure that they no longer let you personalize the cakes or add colour to them.

Hello and congrats on the upcoming VR!!

Your coordinator on this ship should be able to accommodate you with slight changes...I am asking the same thing for a bit of pink on my cake and I was told that should not be a problem, however, I have to ask when I board the ship and it is not guaranteed. :)

If you are looking for favors check out Etsy.com, they have great favors, check out the cake pops they are adorable!

Hey all so I have a question for those who have filmed their vows:

What type of recording device did you use? I was thinking one of those hand held little contraptions by Kodak but it does not appear like they have taken off and I highly doubt they will be around in the next few years.

We are not big on camcorders and really don't want to buy one just for the wedding.

So my last option was an SLR, I was thinking of this camera that can record 1080 HD movies...what do you think you will be doing? We are a Castaway Wedding...

Thanks everyone!

Thanks so much ladies!! Much appreciated!

As for the camera Tink...we have the Nikon P100,,,it takes AMAZING video! and pictures,,it also shoots video,as well as photo,in HD
We used it on our Disney cruise last year, and the pictures look like post cards they are so crisp and clear!
Hope that helps!!
