So Pretty! How exciting for you.

Haha I agree with your guests! I think the virtual portholes are really cool- the DF wanted a verandah but I convinced him to get an interior room so we could see the characters pop up! Yea I'm a geek :lmao:

We are doing both. We have a verandah room and have the kids in an inside room with a magic porthole.

With this being both our wedding AND honeymoon we couldn't possibly have the kids in the room with us, so my DS, who will be almost 15 will be in charge of the kids room. His DS will e 12 and my DD will be 8, so no little bitty kids.

Hello everyone! My name is Kimberly and I've spent the last 2 weeks reading through this thread- thank you for all the information and advice! I was engaged at the World this past May and we're sailing on the Disney Dream May 15-19, 2011 with our wedding on Castaway Cay. I'm so excited! It's going to be very small- just our parents and my sister (his brothers can't afford to come). How does one start a planning journal? I'm very new to the Disboards and would love to contribute my experiences to help future brides!

That is the day we get off the ship!!! Too bad you won't be on our cruise May 12-15!!!

Sorry I haven't been a good DISer lately ladies... Things have been hectic here and my VR has gone literally to the back of my mind. My mother in law, aka crazy devil woman, has since made everything into her, just like my wedding 10 yrs ago (why we got married in Vegas) that I'm not sure if I even want to do it anymore. I think, well do I really want to pay $3600 (VR and MK photo shoot) just to put up with her crap??!?!? HELP !!!! I am thinking just doing me and the hubster, but then we'd go and piss her off just like we did 10 yrs ago by getting married in Vegas...Do I care, not really... But I don't want to put up with her crap about it either. Arrggghhh.... So how are all my ladies on here???

Aw thats so pretty! I love the side draped bodice and the back is beautiful!

Nice- you guys will get your alone time and I'm sure the kids will love having a little 'freedom'- I know I would've at that age! I'll probably be jealous of you on your veranda while I'm checking out my porthole :lmao:

Aw too bad we miss each other- that would've been a fun cruise! Too bad I'll still have finals then- as of now I'm set to graduate the weekend before we leave. Sorry your MIL is giving you such a hard time and it stinks that you'll have to put up with her no matter what you do. Would you prefer to put up with her in the happiest place on earth or back home? I agree, it is a lot of money for all the grief. Since you already did Vegas, what about something cheaper than DCL but different- Disney has Vero Beach and Hilton Head resorts and I've heard they do VR's there- maybe its cheaper? Plus you could book her at a different hotel to give you some space. Vero Beach is gorgeous but I've never tried the Hilton Head resort.

My veil arrived!!!! I tried on several with my dress at Davids Bridal and this one was my favorite. It's a little ornate for a barefoot beach wedding, but since both the dress and veil are Galina everything (crystals, pearls, color) matches exactly and I love how it shimmers in natural light. I copied down the style number and bought it brand new with tags and in the original package for less than half of Davids Bridals' price- yea!! I got the dress and veil for less than $200! I posted this in the dress thread but I thought I'd put it here too:

I just need to have cups sewn in to give the girls a little lift!

Thank you! I'm not usually one to wear dresses, but I can't wait to wear this one! Oh I feel the next 10 months are going to drag, especially since I just found out I was accepted into graduate school so between grad school, work, wedding planning, internship, and volunteering- I'm going to be working like a mule! Who needs sleep anyway?! :lmao:

Do the DCL photographers have a website or anything so I can get an idea of what the pictures will be like? We can't afford to bring a photographer with us and I'm concerned about using Disneys since they seem to be quite hit or miss. I looked at many of the photos on this board, but some we're from several years ago and there are probably different photographers now, so I'm hoping to find recent photos to get an idea of what mine will be like.

Thanks!!

Your dress is beautiful and PERFECT for a DCL wedding! You look fabulous in it. LOVE the veil too and great job on getting both at a wonderful price.

Hello everyone! I was just wondering if anyone was planning to have an onboard ceremony on the dream. Ours is in march and we are just curious where the cake cutting would be held. I am so excited!! I also wanted to see about a "reception". How does it all work being that Palo will be open for dinner after our ceremony. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Amanda

Cake is served at the ceremony location.

We happened to book the private dining room in Palo and after much begging to the Palo manager, I was allowed to have it set up there and have a real reception. I provided floral for the tables and petals for the cake table. It was amazing and I felt like it was a nice personal reception..I got to sit at the same table with all my guests.
They will only seat a min of 12 and max of 14..so we added a couple to meet the minimum.

Hello everyone--

I am really excited to be getting married on the Dream. We are penciled in for 10/28. I have always wanted to get married at Disney World, but since we started taking the cruise..I was hooked. My DF told me the other day that somehow he always knew he would have a Disney wedding!!

Congrats to all of you who are also doing either a wedding or VR on DCL. I hope to post as much as I can, but with working full-time, going to school, taking care of a 2 teenagers, and now planning a wedding..who knows when I will find time.

It looks like DCL is still working out the details on where on the ship they will hold the ceremonies. I hope the on-deck location can accomdate more than 18 guests. I am already at 18 guests and do not want to do it on Castaway Cay or in a lounge. Please keep me posted if anyone hears anything.

Thanks!
Lisa
