no..it is a first come first serve but you must have between 12 and 14 guests

As a gift, our friends paid the Palo bill which would have been $15 per person

Hey April.....

We did have the cake cutting before dinner, and all the kids ate it, as did we, and then all went to dinner an hour later....and it was all fine. Kids will eat cake anytime, and really, by the time you are served your food at Palo, you will have digested the cake and will be ready to eat more. You could also move the Palo thing to a dinner versus the lunch. The room at Palo didn't cost anymore, you just needed to book it ahead. As for us, we couldn't get the room when we wanted it, so they put us in the middle of the dining room, and I have to say, I liked it better. I had seen the room during our brunch, and it is off to the side (Magic's Palo) so me being the person that I am, I prefered being out in the open.

As for kids at Palo, I was told with utmost certainty that they were not allowed under any circumstances. Worked better for our crowd anyway. And as Betsy said, only you and your husband's dinner is included in the package, so the rest have to get paid for....I can't remember if you have any adults coming....we paid for our group.

It is getting closer!!!!!!!!!!

Right now, in addition to DH and I and our 2 kids we have:

7 Adults
7 Kids

My brother and SIL will have a 1 yr old, and I don't know how they will feel using the nursery. Their kids will be 1, 3 and 5. Mine will be 3 and 6. And my sister's will be 7, 9, 13 and 16. If we really wanted to do Palo, I can just feed the kids early and ship them off to the kids club. My sister's 2 oldest can do whatever and her youngest can go to the club with Jackie and Joey. But my SIL is the one i'm worried about.

Isn't Palo only open for dinner on the 3 day? So we don't really have a lunch option, do we?

So if I tell Cathy that we absolutely want the children included in the cake cutting, where else would we go?? With Jackie and Joey being part of the ceremony, i just can't see leaving them out just so we can go to Palo for quick cake. :sad2:

i am sure they have someplace to do the cake..If you have a CC VR, then maybe they do the cake there?
kids usually are present at the VR. I am sure they have a plan

Mike!! Are you back??? How was the VR??? PICTURES!!!!!!

Ok ladies, i get to start bothering Cathy in about 6 weeks to book!! Now i need to work on logistics.

I've really had my heart set on the CC ceremony. I know it's $1000 more and really, considering the shipboard one is on lt $1500, it's quite a bit more. But really, that's what we want.

So the timeline i've been seeing is the ceremony will be either 10 or 11am on CC. then we go back to Palo for cake and dance. But then it's time for lunch. It seems so odd to eat cake right before lunch. :confused3 Why don't they do it after lunch?? Would we be able to have them serve us lunch in Palo after the ceremony, THEN have the cake?? And are the kids allowed in Palo during that time?

And if we do decide to do Deck 7, then it's abuot 430 or 530 on Friday. Then we again have cake and dancing. (that's all right there on deck, right? That's a little better, because we have dinner late. But we also are supposed to have a dinner in Palo that evening. Well, i'm not about to leave my 18 guests to eat alone!! Besides, we have our children with us! So we will be forgoing the dinner at Palo i guess. :guilty: And i'm sure they will reserve the cake at dinner, right?

Hi Everyone,

We're back and everything went wonderfully (or should i say Magically).

We had the VR on Castaway Cay. It was raining when we docked, so everything was pushed back about an hour, when things cleared up beautifully. It was hot and windy, so we look a mess in some pictures, but we had such a good time and the pictures captured the day.

Our cake cutting was in Palo, and since there is no brunch on CC day, we were the only ones there and the kids were allowed to come. We would have insisted on doing it somewhere else if they couldn't. Also, the kitchen is not open, so no lunch at Palo that day.

I'm going to sort and upload pictures this weekend. (I'm supposed to be studying for a test tomorrow). I'll post a link to the pics and give a better report then.

Until then, here's a pic to get started:

I do have a question of course. On the photo packages, do they just include one photo pose for all those pictures. OR do they also include pics of the cake cutting, ceremony, ring exchange, ect??

you have your pick of all pictures..they do have a new VR photo package for $175. Make sure you ask about that!
